Flying Iguana Taqueria and Tequila Bar

Delicious Mexican food, great service, and nice atmosphere. It was my first time here and we sat at the bar. Came in to celebrate my cousin's birthday with dinner and drinks and it was a good time. Our bartender Donovan was great and knowledgeable. There was another guy behind the bar helping, but I didn't catch his name, but he was great as well. We had the steak, pork belly, achiote chicken, and shrimp tacos, along with ceviche, chips with salsa, and queso. Everything was so tasty and cooked perfectly. Now the drinks! Omg! So good! From the mixed shots to the margarita, it all was blended perfectly and tasted amazing. We got lit! The vibes were great here, and other bars are walkable if you want to bar hop after. I'd definitely recommend!

Friend, sis and I had lunch here before being dropped off at the airport.Thought we'd get a good, solid lunch in because we'd be missing dinner in the air. And we left with full tummies. Friend had been here before so she knew to order the table-side guac. It was a lunch rush with only one gal on guac duty. We saw her make guac for at least 5 tables before us. We tried to cancel the order since we waited for over 20 minutes and our entrees would be out soon, but we were next in line. So we got it but the waitress did comp it on the final bill, which was a nice gesture.Sal ordered a Crispy Pork Belly taco. It came with watermelon and she said it compliments well. I'll take her word for it.Sis ordered the Cubana Torta. It came with a salad. She liked the salad. Said it tasted like pickled cabbage.The sandwich meat was well flavored and juicy. Nice hints of mustard and pickles. Sometimes the mustard can overpower but this was balanced with the saltiness of the pork/ham.I ordered the Mexican Cheese Steak torteTorte. Bread was warm, toasted. Outside crusty but inside was soft. Great flavors that I can't remember but it was the best meal I had all weekend. I had the pablano peppers on the side and I'm glad I did. I could smell the spicy heat and it would have been too much fur my MN mouth. Fries were hot and lightly salted. I couldn't stop eating them so I had to throw the napkin over my plate. Out of sight, out if mind. The Flying Iguana was probably my favorite restaurant during my mid-Feb vacation. My hometown Mexican restaurants need to step up their game!!

Heard great things about this restaurant during my last visit to Jax Beach and had to make it there for dinner one night! We didn't make reservations ahead of time, so when we arrived there was quite a long wait, however, we got lucky enough and found 3 open spots at the bar so we snagged those immediately! The bar offers full service so we were able to order drinks and food. The guacamole was so fresh and yummy, and the queso dip was also fantastic! Definitely not like your average queso and had a bit of a smoky flavor to it which I really enjoyed. For my main dish, I went with a couple of tacos and they were also absolutely delicious! The junkyard was probably my favorite with grilled chicken, roasted potato, queso sauce, shaved cabbage, charred corn salsa, and flaming iguana sauce, but the dirty south was also really great and consisted of fried green tomato, black eyed "peaco" de gallo, queso sauce, and baby arugula. I was also told to order the guava cheesecake from a friend/local, and I am SO glad I did because wow, it was phenomenal. I love anything with guava and knew it was going to be a hit. I am still dreaming of it today and hope to go back to Jax Beach in the near future!

I ordered the achiote chicken and blackened shrimp tacos. The chicken taco was great and tasty, but the shrimp taco was a little salty. The vibes of the place were great and I would definitely go back!

Flying Iguana has truly some of the best tacos I've ever had. I was in the area visiting and my friend told me I had to try this place, and I'm so glad I did. I ordered the chicken tacos and the flying fish tacos which were both so flavorful and fresh tasting. My brother got the steak tacos which he said were amazing as well. I also ordered a spicy marg and the guac, both of which were delish. The marg was perfectly spicy and strong. They make the guac right in front of you which is always fun. The server was also very attentive and willing to make allergy accommodations. All in all, the vibes were great and the food was incredible!

The Flying Iguana is always a good time! The service is super friendly, and we usually sit inside, but the outdoor seating is great too. We always start with the guacamole--they make it right at your table, and it's amazing. I got the mango based margarita, then a few house. I forgot to snap a pic of the before eaten. The tacos and margaritas are so good, it's a place to a great beach day.

I love this place and it never disappoints. The challenge is deciding between their tacos, the sopa de pollo, and the Caribbean shrimp bowl since all are excellent. They happen to have the best Skinny Ritas in town. I went on an off night which made a big difference since it's is usually very crowded for good reason. It's a bonus if you are lucky enough to snag an outdoor seat - yet indoor is nice as well. Once you get a table, I doubt you can go wrong here.

With a menu on the more limited side, I think flying iguana is most worth it if you're coming here for tacos, which they do have a good amount of options. The other menu items are alright, but way more expensive than they seem like they would be. But the tacos were delicious! The crispy pork belly was a little too crispy for my taste, but I loved the watermelon. And the Baja fish was perfectly crispy. And the chips and salsa were delicious too. I loved the red salsa and I loved that the chips were seasoned so you didn't even need to put salsa on to already have some flavor.

We love this restaurant only 2 blocks from the beach. Great for lunches or big parties. The food always has great flavors and the margaritas taste amazing. The staff is very friendly and attentive to guests.

Great service and excellent tacos! Good atmosphere! Went on Valentine's Day with no reservations, place was packed but got a table quickly! Loved the margaritas!
