El Trompo Loco

Small Business Spotlight Yesterday while out and about I spotted El Trompo Loco on Atlantic Blvd and I just had to stop!!They have been on my list of Food Trucks to check out for months, so why not grab dinner on Taco Thursday Mike & Maria already knew my face and my love for good food and more importantly, Good People! I got to see the Magic Happening with my Order of Birria Tacos with the birria consomé which very balanced with flavor and the shredded beef was tender and delicious as well.Don't forget to check out the Trompo inside the Truck where the El Pastor is Cooked to Perfection....That will be another video soon If you have been looking for Birria Tacos made from scratch, then you have got to check out this food truck located near Regency Square Mall. I have been to this food truck on a couple occasions and was always great. Today was the complete opposite. First thing, I ordered elotes and I got corn in a cup with mayo and mozzarella cheese. No tajin, and when I asked for it I was handed a bottle that looked 10 years old with old dark tajin. Then I opened my nachos and they are literally 75% old wilted lettuce. I am so disappointed.

The tacos were pretty basic but good. Guy that took my order and made my food didn't offer much customer service so that also made the experience "Meh"

Horrible quality of meat. The steak asada tacos are awful. The Birria consume is as if they made mole and added beef stock. There's no way someone Mexican cooks this food. It's not good. I'm sorry. I want all food trucks to make it but this is not good. There's also NO way this is the best Birria in Jax. No way Jose.

This place used to be a gem . Ive been following them since they opened. I drove 35 minutes on Sunday and the food wasn't the same the tacos were not seasoned at all and were very dry they were hard to swallow! Not the same quality as before it's very disappointing since it's hard to find good authentic food in Jacksonville.

SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ENJOY SOME GOOD FOOD SOMEWHERE ELSE. I would give 0 stars if I could, this place was great with the first owner running it but idk who is running it now with the new hispanic lady doesn't know how to cook....., the consome had no fucking meat in it just plain beef water with no taste like WTF wasted 22 dollars and 20 minutes of my time I could have spent somewhere else.The whole food quality has gone down since the last time I visited this place. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Well I tried the tamales TODAY- generally I prefer the Verde (Green), but they were BOTH delicious- the Red with the chicken was AMAZING, I gotta say- SO GOOD!!They make them FRESH on Friday, Saturday and Sunday...just sayin'...WELL worth it!

Ordered through Grubhub so I haven't experienced this restaurant in-person. Wanted to sample a variety of their offerings so I ordered the tacos birria, al pastor and pollo as well as a carne Asado burrito. The taco Al pastor and birria were decent. The chicken taco though was nearly flavorless, as if it went from raw to cooked without any seasoning in between. The steak burrito was the opposite; it was super salty with the taste of burnt grill so strong you could hardly taste the meat. I've always thought you could never go wrong with tacos, but I've never been more disappointed in a taco night
