I have wanted to try this restaurant forever it seems. Quite often my family and I just like getting Margaritas and chips & salsa or nachos...since they seem to go hand in hand. Welp...we came, we were sat, we ate chips & salsa (that were very good), then we learned they didn't serve Margaritas. I'm sure this isn't a deal breaker for everyone, but we were in the mood for Margaritas with our Mexican food...it's not happening here. I learned later they are a "dry" restaurant, which is fine, just not always our thing. Aside from the above, the décor is pretty cool inside and out. Sorry, no pics...I was stumped and didn't think to take any! There is ample parking and it's close to the hotel area off the highway. The staff seemed very nice. I'll return when I'm not wanting a Margarita with my Mexican food.

Something like a three from me. Was good enough. Chips and salsas were good. Water was good. Our server was attentive and pleasant. Mix and match combo (we went with pork tamal, chicken burrito and chile relleno) was good but drowned in mole and visually unappealing. They really feed you for $10.99. Anyway, a few beers or margarita would have made everything better but they're dry here. No alcohol no bueno. Was also something grubby and worn out about the place which is a shame because it's a cool old building and super festive but our table was sticky as were all the hot sauce bottles. One was gross. Lots of potential.

This is the most authentic Mexican restaurant I have been to. The environment is calm and relaxing. The food was delicious and hot (temperature, I can't say that for most of restaurants). The service was fast and friendly. Not to mention the price was beyond reasonable. Yes, they don't serve alcohol but everything else makes up for it.

I was in Gainesville for a couple of nights and am always looking for a great place to go. I found El Dorado and off I went. This is a big place, maybe almost too big for them. When I walked in it was pretty empty but hey, you never know. I want to note that I visited a few months ago. As some others have said, there were a lot of flies in this restaurant. That really made me think as I was eating but was already pot committed. Had the carnitas as that is my mexican food benchmark. Over all the food was pretty good and like others have said, it came out pretty fast. The service was ok and a little disappointI got due to the fact that there werent many people there. I am not sure that I would come back.

The food is delicious, the service attentive. So it's a dry place, a good margarita would enhance the dinner. They must have a good rea$on. They desperately need a Gardner , the water works needs care too. First impressions speak volumes of the owners.

Prices low. Portions large. Food fresh and delicious. Service friendly.***Low ratings for lack of alcohol grossly unfair--prominent signage out front shows no alcohol. What planet are some reviewers Yelping from?

Appears closed. No one there and doors open. Did they move? Perhaps a fire or something.

I just want to make it known that this place is THE spot if you enjoy authentic Mexican cuisine. I had the 3 chicken enchiladas (per the waiter's recommendation) and they did not disappoint. The cheese sauce on top of the flour tortillas couldn't have been any better and the chicken was seasoned perfect as well. I will say that my little brother ordered the beans and rice on the side and didn't necessarily love it but ate it nonetheless. Overall a very solid 4 star review from me. PS: The building is a bit too big for the crowd on a Friday night but the staff and environment makes up for it.
