El Chamo Criollo

This food truck came to our complex yesterday and OMG! The BESTTTTT food truck I've had here in Jax. We had the cheese Cachapa (so good!) - perfect mix of sweet with the corn pancake like wrap and the stringiest meatiest cheese inside. The green sauce and garlic sauce I had in the side too, wowza! And the sweet plantains, those things are just one of my favorite foods. And we had the chicken arepa #1 La Reina Pepiada! I wish there were words that could describe how delicious it was. My mouth watered with every single bite. I love this place, I really hope they come back to our complex because I need more The Taquenos were just okay, but it didn't even matter because I was way to focused on the rest blowing my mind to care! Def ask for all the extra sauces because they are all bomb.

I have never had Venezuelan food before, but this place is in incredible. Ordered almost everything on the menu and not one item disappointed. The creamy cilantro sauce is to die for. I would drive across the country for this.

We were fortunate to have this good truck at our neighborhood tonight. The arepas and empanadas were SO GOOD. Both the beef and the pork are incredibly tender and the arepas were so crispy on the outside with the right consistency & texture on the inside. I also really love the garlic sauce. Definitely recommend.

Arepas are one of the single best things to eat in the world. I've known this fact for 20+ years now growing up in LA. Today I had the best arepa I've had in 20+ years in JACKSONVILLE, FL?!I got the Rumbera with plantains (because plantains are the physical representation of joy in this world) and it was divine. The pork is tender, juicy (but not fatty at all) and so well seasoned. The cheese is a nice sharp counterpoint to the sweet pork and the avocado adds a nice creamy and grassy element. The ajo sauce is creamy and so chock full of wonderful garlic flavor. The arepa itself is perfectly crispy from the flat top it's cooked on, but light and not as dense as others I've had, which is really nice. That corn flavor adds a subtle sweetness that makes these types of sandwiches so darned good. This is the kind of sandwich that I could eat every day. And for $10-$12 bucks, it's not a bad deal. Plus it's big enough to share if you're watching what you're eating too. The service was excellent. The guy who helped me was friendly and my food came out fast and fresh. The truck is clean and I couldn't ask for a better experience. I'be already told my wife I'll take her and started following them on social media. Honestly, this was a wonderful meal. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making something this good.

Our community does Food Truck Friday and we originally stopped just to grab some ice cream as we already had dinner. The food was smelling delicious so I just had to get something We ordered some appetizers, empanadas and taquenos. The empanadas were good however those taquenos were absolutely delicious!!!! They taste like a butter pastry version of a cheese stick. I would recommend you check this place out , you will not be disappointed.

El Chamo Criollo came hard with the arepas! If you see this food truck......stop what you're doing and get in line!This food truck was in my neighborhood and honestly I've had very few bad experiences with Jacksonville food trucks so I'm always down to try a new one! I am so glad I did. I ordered the pabellon with shredded beef, black beans, white cheese and fried plantain for $9. The meat was seasoned to perfection! And they were not skimpy on the fillings! I was super stuffed and more than satisfied;) Not to mention the bread was soft and fresh.The staff were friendly and the wait for my food was short. I would absolutely recommend this food truck to anyone who likes to eat high quality delicious food!

I'm not a big fan of the cachapa (first time I've tried that dish). I'll try something with the shredded beef next time.

How I miss my Chamo, I went to a Venezuelan restaurant here in Vegas and I just kept comparing to El Chamo Criollo. It doesn't get any better than that.Cachapa, arepas, pabellon...there is no other like El Chamo.Follow them on Instagram to check his schedule and go, try his food it's DIVINA!

My absolute favorite food truck! I recommend the cachapa and the homemade spicy sauce.

The pabellon bowl with the shredded beef that I ordered was seasoned really well. I enjoyed everything. The beans and plantains were cooked just right, and I think that I got good value from what I ordered.
