Merry Christmas from Florida First Coast YMCAs!
New flooring would take this place a long way but not a bad place to sweat in!

I am very disappointed, I have called on Saturday to sign up my son for soccer, they told me it was $141 to come on person on Sunday, I went on Sunday and the office was close, them when I came in this morning Monday morning, Evon told me it was $161 I explained her what had happened and she said this morning the raise the price, I told her they should honored since the told me 141 and I went yesterday and it was close. She was very rude and mean, when I asked to talk to a manager she state she was the manager then I asked her to let me talk to someone above her and she said there was nobody.Bad way to do business, I did end up signing my son but I will not do it again and for sure I will make sure to let people know to stay away from this place.

Stopped in over Thanksgiving break to get some workouts in. The staff were all really friendly and willing to assist in getting us guest passes since my "home" Y apparently isn't in this nation wide member database system yet. I wasn't expecting much since given the area and was pleasantly surprised to see suggested exercises on the white board and lots of the same free weight equipment that I'm used too. This Y could use a face lift...getting rid of the carpet and installing a newer gym floor alone would do wonders as I can live with the equipment they have.I was hoping to discover some classes I could attend however their class schedule varied from the normal since it was the Holiday. I would have loved to get in there on Thanksgiving but they were closed. Knowing my home "Y" just had a large renovation I did not show up here with wild expectations however was bummed that there was no towel service.Whenever I'm in this area I will definitely go back. We don't have kids so I did not pay much attention to the grounds in that regard or other activities but the "Y" has a long standing seal of approval for these sorts of things. The "Y" in general is a great place for families to participate in and can benefit on all levels.

I am a experienced First Coast Y"er and this location even though recently updated stll lacks certain elements that others have. No sauna No towel service and most classes during the day seem to be geared towared Silver Sneakers which are retired so thats understandable. I would say they need a wow factor maybe not in as a Subway like Brooks but maybe a exercise/yoga room is edgy or a steam room. For the higher cost we pay for the Y membership I would just like to see more here at this local location.

My 6 year old nephew plays soccer here in the Spring and Fall. He enjoys the social aspect. My sister likes that it teaches him sportsmanship and that they pray before each game. The field is well kept and the coaches (mostly volunteers) are fantastic with the kids. Her dislikes include the soccer seasons being too short (2 months) and the outdoor bathrooms are dirty. I attended a few jiu jitsu/MMA night classes here years ago when I lived in town, it kicked my butt (in a good way)!

I enjoy going to this facility because they are knowledgeable and patient with every question I may have. They also are a friendly group that go above and beyond not only helping me, but with the others that visit they're facility.
