Drake's Deli

Lunch at Drake's. Yep wife and I shared the 8" cheesesteak with small order of French fries and a couple of pickles. Yummy as usual- friendly staff great food. Yep 5/6.

We were visiting Saint Augustine to see our grandchildren. On the way back from a chilly experience at the beach, we found Drake's! The kiddos are six and nine so they're not gonna jump on top of a Reuben like I would, however the kids menu had a PB&J for our granddaughter and a nice grilled cheese for our grandson. As I mentioned it was a little nippy so my wife and I both had a soup and a sandwich. Joannie's corn and crab chowder paired nicely with her yummy chicken salad sandwich. And although I normally lead with a Reuben at a good deli, I was lured away by my second favorite sandwich, a muffaletta! I also had a cup of extremely clammy, clam chowder, just the way I like it! All the breads were fresh and either homemade or from a local bakery. Joannie loved her sandwich. Mine was very tasty, and it had all the right components on a lovely hoagie. This made it like the best Italian sub on steroids, but not a muffaletta. I've experienced this a couple of times in the past and have decided to give up ordering muffaletta's unless I'm sure they're on their the right kind of bread and have been allowed to meld together for several hours under a slight press. All in all, the extensive menu, warm ambience and our incredible server warrants .

The food is mostly sandwiches, wraps and salad but really good. Service is spectacular so nice and sweet and accommodating. The ambiance if you eat IN is definitely bistro like. A little pricey but worth it. Italian sub and Cuban sandwich has been my faves so far.

Favorite local places to eat! Italian stallion add garlic mayo my loveeeee. Good for to-go as well as dine in, fair prices and always lovely staff. Thank you!!

Always enjoy my lunch outings at Drakes. Maria and Lexi and the entire team provide the BEST experience always accommodating my requests and providing excellent service. I've tried lots of their food and love the hot pastrami and the Monte Cristo. My company has also used Drakes for catering and they've always done an amazing job! My go to deli in St Augustine! After a long drive to St. Augustine we were really looking forward to lunch! When we arrived at Drake's they were packed, a great sign!I had the Blue Dream which is piled high with delicious shaved ham, chive cream cheese and blue cheese. This thing is impeccable. My mom had the Cheese Steak Deluxe. Her toasted sub roll was filled to the brim with shaved steam tomato and provolone cheese. She opted to leave off the onion and peppers but left mushrooms. It was delicious!We shared a fry that was crisp and yummy as well! I would love to come back again to try more of the sandwiches!!

Great lunch spot and lots of excellent sandwich options to cover anyone's preferences! Our party of four stopped in yesterday and our waitress was friendly and efficient! I will say that towards the end of our meal she disappeared and left us hanging for a bit. So long that another person brought us our checks and then eventually came back to run our cards. It didn't ruin our meal by any means, but it was unnecessary. We had 2 gobble sandwiches and they were pretty tasty! Not the best we have had, but most acceptable and better than average! They needed a little more of the cranberry. We also had the conquistador, it was very flavorful but needed some acid and maybe a little mayo - the bread was possibly over toasted and it made it a dry sandwich to bite through. And we had the Blue Dream, pretty tasty as is! Our fries were all hot and fresh! We did try a cheese dip sauce for the fries and it was unusual, hard pass on that option - no flavor, too thick, and a little off putting. Overall, this is a solid lunch spot! We all would like to try it again and see what other sandwiches they could put together for us! It was quaint inside, a little dated, reminded us of an Italian movie where a mobster sat in the back running his bookies... I liked it! But it, could use a refresher!To those about to dine, I salute you!!

Drake's Deli in St. Augustine is one of my favorite places to have lunch. It is a charming place that leaves you with the best impressions. The staff are hospitable (especially Kaitlyn), it has the feel of your home kitchen as the front of the house talks openly with the back of the house. All the sandwiches are delicious. Today we enjoyed the 2015 Salad, which comes with a yummy house garlic oregano vinaigrette. 1/2 ham sandwich on the freshest white bread and crisp toppings, cup of homemade clam chowder with fresh chunks of red potatoes and tender clams and to finish it all off, a homemade cinnamon roll, that comes out like a cupcake with lots of cream cheese icing. It was a little too much icing for me. Sometimes you need a little patience as they make everything as it's is ordered, but it's worth the wait if you have one. The prices are great and they do a lot of take out orders. I would like to come back here, again and again.

I would come back to Drake's Deli just for the French fries. They're seriously the best ever. My monte cristo was also amazing - huge too! Our server was so friendly and very prompt! The restaurant was a little cramped but nothing terrible.

They never disappoint with their sandwiches. It's to hard to pick a favorite. The wait staff is great. The kitchen can get swamped at lunch hour, so be patient and meet other locals.
