I can really appreciate the small, local farmers and Down to Earth produces some of the most beautiful fruits and veggies that I have ever seen in the area! They grow more than 50% of flowers on their farm and if you ever get a chance to buy a bouquet, you won't be sorry. Absolutely as gorgeous as their produce!I happen to visit their booth at the Jax Arts District Farmers Market in Riverside on Wednesdays and the woman working it is very knowledgeable about the farm and agriculture. The actual farmer wasn't present, but I believe she said that he has been working his farm for over a decade. That's pretty impressive and very progressive especially for the Jacksonville area seeing that I grew up south of Gainesville where most of the bigger farms are located. The prices are so reasonable for the quality and varieties offered here. Just check out their in-season produce and flowers so you'll know what I mean. I took photos. :)

Stopped by their vendor booth at the Riverside Arts Market today. Had tons of beautiful, farm-fresh produce as well as some other local goodies. I was trying to stick to a grocery list, so I only got French breakfast radishes and a red onion, but they were very friendly and I will definitely be keeping an eye out for them again at future markets. Maybe next time I'll even be brave enough to buy the gorgeous Chinese broccoli they were selling for just a few dollars!

We almost didn't stop at Down to Earth during the tour de farm but I was so glad we did! You have to get off 10 and drive through some neighborhoods before you come upon it. Brian sells his fruits, veggies, and flowers at RAM and the Jax Beach Farmers Market every weekend. The family lives on the property (and are building a new house now) where they grow their crops and keep their chicken. They have both a greenhouse and outside crops. Rows and rows of gorgeous fruits and veggies, everything you could think of!For the event they were selling their goodies and Dig Foods and community Loafs were there, too. Brian gave a little tour and told us about what and how they grow. They don't use pesticides and have tons of plans for the future, too. Just after we left we found out they got 3rd place in the science category at One Spark for their community kitchen idea. Awesome local resource that we're lucky to have!

Organic local produce! Love it. Find them at RAM, Riverside Arts Market. You can probably find them other places, but I know for sure at RAM. You really can't go wrong supporting a local farmer! As a society, we've totally gotten away from knowing who grows our food, so I love that I can actually meet and know the people here, and have an understanding of their farming practices. And respect for what they do! It's hard work, I could never do it... but I totally admire what they do, especially since they do it organically!
