Dog Hut

It was a pleasure to find a Carolina Dog while visiting Florida. This is a decent dog.Nathan's extra long dog, extended beyond the bun on bot ends. Bun was soft and fresh. Would have been nice toasted.Dog was properly dressed with yellow mustard, slaw, onions, and chili.The slaw was good with a touch of sweetness. Onions were fresh and crispy.The chili was flavorful, with a touch of heat. The heat was a bit off putting for some of our group.All in all, a good version of the Carolina Dog.Fries and onion rings were crispy and hot, as they should be.Tiny place with a few outside stables. Pretty close to busy A1A. We took out bag-o-dogs to beach park a short distance away. Menu was varied with several styles of dogs, burgers, etc.The lady that took our order was friendly. Guy fixing the dos was a touch grumpy, you would be too if you had to fix hotdogs all day.We will return!

I really don't like Hotdogs but man that was a good dog!.... The owners are really nice and funny too!

Food was good, fresh and hot. Prices are good and the service as well. Cute place and has a NY ambiance. Also had a good conversation with the owner. Really nice couple!! Don't miss this neat hotdog joint.

I love a good hot dog and this place doesn't disappoint. Best quality and price I have had in a while. NIce little mom and pop stand and they really appreciate customers from my brief experience. I certainly will be a frequent customer when I start spending more time in the Ormond Beach area. Great location for those in nearby condos and the Lattitude Beach Club.

The hot dog was pretty good, it was fresh, but the lemonade had a bit of a funky taste, like it's been there a bit too long. The buns were steamed, the hot dogs had that good flavor and snap. The chili was alright, but nothing outstanding. The fries were really good. Would I drive again to Ormond by the Sea from South Daytona Just to get a hot dog, most likely no. One of the other negatives is that the outdoor seating that is near A1A those tables you can't really sit there, They have one of those tall floating, balloon type characters that needs an air pump. So it's loud like a broken air conditioner, oh yeah then they have their leaky loud window unit air conditioner running. So it not inviting to seat in those seats. The other tables on side of business are ok, but the business next store, a guy comes out looks around and the walks to edge of side walk to spit! Gross

Walked in to try it for the first time and the older gentleman making the hot dogs was coughing into his bare hand not once but multiple times and still continued to prepare a customers order without washing his hands. We walked out.

We have completely given up on eating at this local establishment after yesterday. We've had issues with the new owner before. Once, he hung up on us because it was taking "too long" to order food for 6 people. Another time the pickup order was just wrong. Every time we were disappointed with the food - pre-cooked hot dogs sitting in warm water, disgusting "chili sauce" and he has no chopped tomatoes. He offers a "Chicago" dog without chopped tomatoes and apparently doesn't know what a sport pepper is as he uses jalapenos. Yesterday we called to place a pickup order at 4PM. "We're closed," he said. "I thought you closed at 5." He responded, "We're out of hot dogs." "I don't want hot dogs, I want to order burgers," I informed him. "Everything's turned off already. We're closed." "Will you be open tomorrow?" "Yes," he said. "How are you opening on Saturday morning if you don't have any hot dogs then?" "I'm not telling you!" The owner has no sense of customer service and he doesn't know anything about hot dogs either. The latter was expected as his opening menu had hot dogs as the last thing on the menu, after burgers, chicken tenders and other fried crap from Sysco, despite the restaurant being called "The Dog Hut."

Yuck!! Okay so out of town looking for a quick lunch. Thought hole in the walls are usually a good place to go!Walk in look at menu. A woman and man behind the counter neither one very friendly. I ask if the slaw is sweet ? The man looks up and says" it's slaw"!! REALLY!! I say well some are sweet some are vinegary. She says it's kinda sweet. If I had been there alone I would have left. So anyway I order sweet tea and onion rings in memory of my dad. She gets the rings and puts them over for him. He throws them out of the way. She says yea is broke and I'll bring you the rings. He pulls this hotdog out of some water and slaps it on a bun!! We go out to eat, she brings onion rings. They were pretty good but the hotdog not so much. Chewy, cold, chili no flavor and slaw....slightly sweet.So if looking for a nice friendly hole in the wall hotdog place, keep driving!!!

This place is great. Just a little hotdog joint in a little strip center that has the best dogs ever. Have been wanting to stop here for awhile now an we decided to finally stop. I'm so glad we did. As soon as you walk in you can smell the dogs cooking. The customer service is great an the menu is simple. They have limited seating inside along the windows an they also have seating outside. But beware this place is always busy. The Dog hut rocks.. The prices at great an So is the food. I mean we had 2 kraut dogs a piece chips an a drink for 7.00 bucks a piece. They had everything from just hotdogs to Chicago dogs to Kraut dogs to chili dogs and more. I highly recommend stopping by and having A hotdog if you're in the area. I know you're thinking it's just a hotdog but in all reality it's a very good hotdog.

I've driven by this hotdog shop many times and finally decided to stop. I am big fans of hotdogs as well as supporting local businesses, so needless to say-I was excited. I simply could not believe how incredibly rude the owners were-wondering to myself, "Do they really want my business?" I reluctantly ordered but it was obvious the owners would've rather been on the beach, NOT selling hotdogs! My hotdog and fries were NOTHING special, however the most unappealing thing was the customer service! If you see this hotdog stand along your route, keep driving!
