Derita Italian Deli

While it's a bit of a drive for me, this is now hands-down my favorite sandwich shop. Whoever plucked the shop out of the streets of Philly and dropped it here in Northeast Florida is my hero. While it is just to take out shop currently, hopefully it will evolve into more in the future. For now I'm happy to take my sandwich and sit in the car and eat in heavenly bliss. On this trip, I tried out the Caprese and at the recommendation of a friend added the prosciutto. It was an absolute delight, everything freshly prepared and assembled a freshly fried chicken cutlet with freshly sliced prosciutto. The balsamic drizzle just sets it off completely in the most angelic way.While they were prepping my sandwich, I had a nice opportunity to chat with the staff. They were all so very kind and welcoming and inviting. I feel like I've known them forever instead of just having stumbled into their shop. While I can't get back there often because it is about 30 minutes from my home I will be back.

We have been wanting to try Deritas for a while when we finally had a chance.This is more typical of a northern deli where you walk in and order your sandwich. There are no seats, no tables. This is for to go. No issues, that was my expectation as we did order online. Parking can be a little challenging at this strip mall. Plenty if you don't mind a short walk from the side lot. I walked up, greeted and was handed my order. No issues. Sub prices are expensive, but doing a true comparison you get a lot for the price. One sub was more than big enough for my wife and I. We were barely able to eat a half for lunch. The subs were pretty tasty. Lots of meat.

Clean is not a word but a state, and this place is not just clean, but inviting and the family is definitely engaging.Ordered the Old Italian (whole) and it's just like home. Great Philly bread, fresh as well. The meats delivered the classic flavor with just a hint of heat.137 miles round trip, will be back soonEagles, Phillies, Flyers all represented.

Is DeRita's spicy Italian the best Italian sub in Northeast Florida? Yes. Hot Soppressata, Hot Capocollo, Sharp Provolone, Hot Cherry Peppers, Lettuce, Tomato. Next visit I'm going to try the original add hot peppers. Take out only. Pretty nice people behind the counter. It's seriously dangerous that this spot is only five minutes away from my new spot. Check 'em out! You've got to follow their social media for the occasional specials they run. Seriously, this is the BEST sandwich joint in all of north Florida.

Family owned! Super Friendly. Place is clean and open so you can see everything going on. The subs are big and full so delicious we have been looking for a good italian sub and this spot nailed it!!! Can't wait to try the cheesesteak next! Wednesday's Cheesesteak special. Pick up & go.

What an amazing place . The hero's are so huge one large hero can feed 2 people for days . They don't skimp on the meats and the bread is from Philly so you know it's good . If you want a great sandwich try this place you won't be disappointed

Hands down best sandwiches in St. Augustine. Bread is phenomenal, meat tastes fresh, cutlets are to die for. Everything exceeded my expectations. Portions are great, the staff are wonderful and service is quick! Please note that there is no where to sit down inside but a great place to pick up sandwiches for a picnic or dinner if you don't feel like cooking. I am so grateful to have a neighborhood, family owned deli that we can support. I am dreaming of the next sandwich to try.

This sub shop recently opened in a strip shop along 210. I had seen good reviews for it so I figured I would give it a try today. It is strictly a takeout place. Two people were there when I arrived and a few more came in after me. Everything seems to be sliced and cooked to order, so it took a little wait. The subs are good, though, and plentiful. I ordered the classic Italian, and it was very good. Plenty of good tasting meat.

We've been enjoying DeRita's since they first opened, and they've never disappointed! Their sandwiches are always fresh, packed with flavor, and made with high-quality ingredients. We recently used them for a catering order, and it was a fantastic experience. Everything was delicious, the portions were generous and perfectly prepared. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the amazing bread and how good everything was! As a family-owned small business, DeRita's stands out far above any chain sandwich shop. The owners and staff are super friendly! If you're missing a great northern deli or want just in the mood for a fantastic sandwich, don't hesitate!
