I happily stumbled upon this park- the memorial is beautiful and humbling. A lighthouse memorial to honor the crew of the ship lost in 2015 (I believe). I remember seeing a news blurb a couple months ago. There are also individual memorials with pictures for those lost souls. Besides the sobering memorial- there is the quiet beauty of the inter-coastal under the Dames Point Bridge. We luckily saw some dolphins frolicking, a photographer capturing moments, someone fishing & a few teenagers enjoying a beautiful day. Bathrooms looked brand new- always a plus. Off the beaten path & a treasure to find.

This park is pretty small, but an amazing view of the river/bridge. There really isn't much grass area to do anything, other than just "look".It is a memorial to El Faro, which is great. While many memorial items were awesome, decorated with flowers/candles, some were decorated with beer cans and bottles.... with nothing else. Kinda sad that their friends/family could only honor them with alcohol.

Cute hidden area under the bridge. Hidden jewel of Jacksonville. I admit it looked sketchy at first, but we walked out on the pier and had a nice view of the Dames Bridge. Families were fishing and picnicking. Not bad for free. Hold your breath if you have to use the bathroom though. It doesn't look like it's kept up

This park is definitely off the beaten path. It's not easy to find, so you just have to kinda know how to get there. As mentioned before, it's located underneath the Dames Point Bridge. The views are absolutely beautiful here, both of the river and the bridge. There are picnic tables, so it's a nice place to bring lunch and have a bite while enjoying the scenery. There's no playground for the kiddies, but there is plenty of room for them to run around. There are restrooms here which aren't the cleanest in the world, but they are clean enough.Believe it or not, there are actually a lot of trees at this park that aren't palm trees (although the palm trees are most certainly there), so depending on the time of year, you may find yourself literally wading through leaves. Great place to watch a sunrise or sunset. There usually aren't very many people here; often there's no one else here. This makes for a romantic spot as well.Don't forget to bring your camera to get some great shots.

This is a nice little out of the way area to sit and enjoy a picnic or to just take in the surroundings... There are tables to sit and eat and there is also a dock for any of you fishermen out there. This is a great place to sit back, relax and enjoy the sunset.

From a photography standpoint, this is one of my favorite places in Jax! It's not one of those places you can stumble upon, you have to know where you are going to find it. There are some amazing shots to be had and there is even a fishing dock if you want to catch some dinner while you are there.

Interesting park located directly under the Dames Point Bridge. I found it after doing some urban exploring on my way to Yellow Bluff Fort. It's not the best of parks the city of Jacksonville has and how much the city has let it go is truly shown here. There is several stray cats all over the place. About the only three good things about it are the fishing, the bridge views and the bathrooms. It looked as if at one time there was 2 boat launches under the bridge but have since been blocked off.

It's a nice little park, but the fishing situation there isn't as good as I thought it would e due to a really strong current.

Love this place, a quiet little hidden fishing spot with some excellent photographic opportunities. The first time I made the trek I was quite sure I was lost, but it was well worth the trip through an industrial area. No playground for kids, lots of feral cats, but great fishing and a perfect view.

This pier was damaged during hurricane Michael in October 2018. WHY has it not been repaired? C'mon Donna Degan, get this done already! It won't be so costly and certainly should have been completed years ago.Photo is on the website.
