This museum is one of the 10 best that I have visited in the States and Europe because it combines art work and a beautiful artistically appealing garden that overlooks the Fuller bridge over the St John's River. The museum has ramps and pathways to help visitors with mobility issues. The museum also has wheelchair accessible entrances, parking, seating, and restrooms. Allegedly the museum also provides wheelchairs for free. I would call first. There are also cafes available if you are hungry. You can also sign up with a guided tour of 10 people at $25 per person. Plan to spend 2.5 hours to see everything at a normal pace. It is so worth it.

The Cummer Museum of Art has definitely improved since its renovations. The layout is much more welcoming, with stable exhibits on the right and rotating exhibits on the left, making it more fun and engaging. The museum is a beautiful place to explore, and the gardens are a nice spot to unwind. However, parking can be tricky, as many people park in the museum spots even when they're not visiting. My main issue was with the staff. While some were friendly, others were quite rude. Multiple people, including myself, were stopped in the garden for taking selfies. It's important to note that these weren't professional photos, and we weren't using a selfie stick--just casual selfies. They insisted we either get a permit or leave. It felt a bit excessive, and to be honest, it came off as more of a cash grab than a necessary policy. I also saw a family with a baby being told off for taking a simple photo while sitting on a bench. It's understandable that there might be rules against flash photography, but banning selfies in the garden seemed extreme, especially when no one was in anyone's way or being disruptive. The museum itself is great, but the staff's attitude and the strict selfie policies really detracted from the experience. If you're planning to visit, just be mindful of the rules--be sure to check for any selfie restrictions before you head out!

The Cummer Museum is a great place to go while visiting the Jax art festival under the I95 overpass. They have some amazing pieces of art dating back to BC. For two adults and a student was $55 which was a little pricey for how small this museum is don't let that take away from some of the beautiful pieces that have.

I haven't been to this museum in a while. Last time I was at this museum was Spring of 2017, and I'm sure the layout of the exterior has changed a lot with the damages of the hurricane of 2017, 2018, and 2024. The ambiance within this museum is amazing. So many interesting art displays to view from. I do believe that there is a café within this museum that offers various food items and beverages as well. I will definitely return here this year as I love art and artwork too.

This was an outstanding visit - the art was so well-curated. We totally enjoyed checking out the exhibits and then wandering around the gardens. We spotted a Wyeth, Picasso, Winslow Homer, Rubens and so much more, it was a totally enjoyable time. We then decided to have lunch at the cafe - sitting outside in the sun was wonderful. The museum celebrates art, and the cafe takes that celebration into the food. We enjoyed a nice bottle of wine, grilled cheese, crab cakes, chicken salad sandwich and a Cobb salad. Each was presented with an artistic flair and tasted as good as it looked.

We're so lucky to have The Cummer Museum in Jacksonville. The museum is located on the banks of the St John's River, about a block away from the Fuller-Warren Bridge in 5 Points. They offer a children's learning area, rotating exhibitions, priceless artwork, beautiful gardens and a tasty cafe (worth a visit on its own).Depending on the season, you can attend outdoor concerts, performances, and other special events. Although admission is charged, several local businesses host free admission throughout the year.

I think this is one of the best art and historical museums in Jacksonville! Located right on the edge of the St. John's River, this place has some truly fantastic views and excellent pieces of art. There is a great mix of art work, sculpture, and well cared for gardens on the grounds. There is a people working here are great, and are really open to having people ask questions. Coming here, you feel like you stepped back into the Gilded Age. You feel both the historic nature but also the pomp and circumstance that people would have experienced in such grand surroundings. Definitely put this place down on a list of must visits in Jacksonville! :)

Absolutely beautiful experience! An afternoon at the gallery is relaxing and always so enjoyable. Unfortunately, the gardens were closed because of the recent storms and I'm hoping everything is safe! Went to the children's area and played for a bit too. Had a coffee outside under the huge trees in the Cafe and had a chai tea that was excellent! This would be an excellent date idea, because its just so peaceful there and invites conversation. I was there with my family and we loved it! There are museum experts that walk aroundand at first I thought they were just making sure we don't touch anything, BUT...they are there to also give informationabout anythingin the museum. We enjoyed talking with the sweet employee as she explained why I thought the oil paintings were following & literally watching me! (hint, they are painted to feel that way) Ohhhh....check out which days & nights you can go for free, because they offer a lot!!

This popular Jacksonville attraction is now up there in my list of favorite U.S. museums. (I still have many more to explore, but top ones so far are the Cleveland Museum of Art, Virginia Museum of Fine Art, and the Met.) I love how this museum combines art and nature with its permanent and current exhibitions and expansive gardens (more on the gardens in a minute). The works of art selected for display and the different themes are well-curated and well-explained in thoughtful captions. The museum space itself is very pleasing to the eye and a serene environment for visitors. There's also a great section for kids that seems like it has something for everyone. Lastly, the main gift shop makes you want to buy everything, and it probably has a gift option for every person in your life. I could spend all day inside looking at the different exhibits, but it'd be a waste not to explore the gardens--Olmsted, English, and Italian. The Italian garden is most photographic, but each garden offers something special. I was enamored with the colors and variety of blooms in all the outdoor spaces. The gardens felt like an oasis in the city, and I could almost forget the sounds of cars in the near distance. It was an overall wonderful experience and was well worth the ticket price. They also do free admission on some days of the month.
