Grew up calling this the Emerson skate park. It's been decades since I've been here. They now have a playground, nature trail (sort of), an open field and of course the skate park. We showed up on a Saturday afternoon after picking up some lunch. There's a covered gazebo with two picnic tables. Plenty of park benches throughout the park. After the kids got done eating they went to the playground area for a bit. After my wife and I got done eating we grabbed the skateboard and scooter then headed to the skatepark. The skatepark was basically empty so the kids had all the ramps to themselves for a bit. They said they liked the new skate park in the 5 points area over this one... Go figure. There's also a restroom here. Two of them to be exact. One was being occupied by a homeless person. The one that was open reeked of cigarettes and looks like someone was partly living in there. Pretty gross but functional. The nature trail had a couple homeless folks hanging out in some of the area. There's clothing, pillows and all sorts of trash that's been thrown over the rails and left behind by whomever was camped out there. Such a shame because it's an awesome park being littered and loitered.

A park named for a woman who sacrificed her life for her nephew, this park stands as a tribute to a life cut short, but a life that made other lives better. The park offers a gym, a skate park, a place to enjoy just sitting back (and maybe grabbing a meal), and more.If you find yourself in the area, check it out. Take a moment to read the plaque and remember this young woman. You will be better for it.

This park serves Jacksonville very well! It is centrally located in the heart of Jacksonville Florida. There is something here for everyone in the family. The Skateboard portion is the most popular, the nature trail is very nice to walk and it is shaded by the canopy of trees, the lake/fountain has chairs/benches to sit on while relaxing or fishing, there is a playground for the toddlers and little ones to swing slide and play, they have a Community Center on the premises and they also have outdoor bathrooms. I always enjoy this peaceful park and I enjoy watching the Skateboarders skating. It brings back memories of when I was a pretty radical skater(for a girl)back in the day. If you have children, I highly recommend this park. I used to bring a cooler in the back of my truck when my boys were little and I would have cold drinks in there. When the others boys around would see, I would pass out cold drinks to them as well. Check it out soon! Put it on your bucket list today! Whoo hoo!

I love this skate park. It flows so well from one ramp to the next. There is a big section, mini ramp section, and street area. Great for beginners and experienced skaters. If you're new just watch out as to not get in the way of the fast skaters lol.

The woman in the office would rather be doing anything else but be courteous and helpful. Park and gym are full of potential and would be an amazing park if it's staff were more welcoming. Park grounds are well kept and the indoor gym is decent. Would be nice if the gym were cleaned from time to time and if it's lights were repaired. Sadly this space is neglected by its staff, perhaps if more people from the community utilized this wonderful space it's gatekeepers would step up and make the experience more enjoyable to the people who visit.

Good playground area for the kids and cool boardwalk through a little swamp area. The skate ramps are nice to have available and the adults using them were careful to avoid the little ones. Big drawback was tons of trash in the woods around the boardwalk. They need a park clean up day. It's a great little park though.
