Crème de la Cocoa

I had to update my review because both cakes held up great!!! Yes I have to update this review to 5 stars because it's usually unlikely for a fresh strawberry shortcake to hold up but Crème de la Cocoa cake held and was delish! The cake looked so beautiful and I especially enjoyed the Black Forest cake it was so moist and delish too! Also Bailey truly cares for her customers and offered to have a new complimentary fresh strawberry shortcake for me on 12/31 (even though they were not open for business)... wow, this was so kind and thoughtful of her!! However, graciously I declined this offer because I truly appreciate businesses that put their employees and customers first and I experienced that first hand with Crème de la Cocoa!Well done and please keep up the great work!! It's establishments like this that make America a kinder and better place to live in!! HAPPIEST NEW YEAR!

Crème de la Cocoa is an elevated bake shop experience in Saint Augustine. Not only are the baked good delicious, they are art. You may go in with the intention of "just looking" but you'll come out with something. The first time, I purchased the Nutella cookie with crème in the middle. It was amazing, I was tempted to get it again. Then I passed the cake window and saw the Southern Belle. A fantastic creation of thinly chocolate-covered Pecan pie with white chocolate mousse topping. Pecan pie is super sweet, it's why I love it. The addition of the white chocolate mousse balances it perfectly. One of the best desserts I've had. The shop is clean, the displays beautiful and the staff always welcoming and eager to serve. I highly recommend you make the drive just out of town to give this amazing bakery a try.

Every year a friend of mine buys a vegan cake from here for her daughter's birthday. Nothing about vegan sounds appealing to me, however the vegan cakes from here are by far my absolute favorite. They are moist and dense, full of flavor. They are a little pricey which is why for my children's birthday I don't buy their birthday cakes from there. But I would say if you are willing to spend the money, the cakes are worth the price. I have never interacted with the staff or purchased something from there myself, but have had their product t multiple times and I have never been disappointed.

I haven't been to the place but the red velvet cake is rich and decadent. The assorted dark chocolate is smooth and perfect dark chocolate.

I ordered several boxes of truffles for gifts. Places the order on line. It was ready and waiting when I arrived. These are always perfect gifts.

I was driving home from St. Augustine and decided to stop at this dessert shop along the way. It is just north of downtown St Augustine about one mile. The shop is very cute with tons of cookies, cakes, macaroons, and even ice cream. The staff were friendly and patient as I circled the shop a few times before deciding what to buy. Everything looked so good!

Made a point to stop by on our way into town for the day on Saturday. Have wanted to visit for a long time, but always end up skipping it because it's on the edge of the old city. Everything looked delicious, the shop was beautiful and service was friendly and fast. It was still very early in the day so we decided to only split a filled cookie. We chose the Nutella chocolate and it was so fantastic. Crispy cookie on the outside, chewy cookie on the inside and the most delicious cream in the middle. Everything they offered looked amazing and we will make a point to return and try more next time.

This is one of those places that you may think you'll stop in and only check them out, maybe do a little window shopping, well once you enter this space you ain't leaving emptied handed - there is something for everyone here no matter your taste be it sweet or savory. All my senses immediately went to DEFCON 1, there was no way I was leaving without a bag of goodies - the truffles are amazing (like no other), the cheese cakes in a cup is a must try (my favorite to date "blueberry") on the savory side who could resist the fresh baked crusty croissants (not me). Well I could of spent more time here exploring their offerings but I thought I had purchased a pretty good cross-section of what was on display. The prices here I feel are reasonable, I mean you are buying "edible art", the staff was wonderful and everything is packaged in beautiful containers that will protect whatever you buy until you reach your destination or in my case until the sampling began after I reached my vehicle.If I have any regrets it's that I should have gotten more, but there'll always be a next time because I won't visit the ancient city again without stopping in now that I've discovered where the true treasures lies...

Phenomenal cakes and service, the cakes are beautiful and taste just as good as they look. My husband got me the coconut creme cake for my birthday and it did not disappoint. These cakes are worth every penny and can feed a large crowd. All of their deserts are so delicious and I can't wait to order more from them!

This place is so good and on Saturdays they make the best pecan in the world. You could just taste the butter melting in it.
