Creative Minds Academy of Durbin

I decided to enroll my daughter in Creative Minds for before and after school care when I moved to the Bartram Park area. They are heads above the competition in the area. They were the only child care provider in the area that provides breakfast, drives the children to the elementary school, picks them up when school is over and feeds them a small meal instead of a snack when they arrive in the afternoons. The woman who runs the place is a nurse. A different daycare I visited actually told me that an example of their snacks was saltine crackers with water or lemonade. I couldn't believe it. When your child eats lunch around 11am and you work downtown and can't pick her up until 6pm, that is too long to go without something more substantial than saltines and water. I've never had any issues with payments either. Amd pricing is reasonable.

They only want your money.... they truly care nothing about your child ONLY!!! your wallet.... on your tour you will be shown a Library your child never gets to use, nurses station for nurse that's never in, so your child may or may not get medication. The director is an unprofessional fast talking scammer with Bikini pictures on Facebook, if you ever have an issue that you would like to take farther than the director you will be told "corporate" doesn't talk to parents send them an email... well excuse me for thinking that at over $10,000 a year for an four year old that I could speak with " corporate" which turns out to be just the money hungry owner... Mrs Felicia a VPK teacher at this school thinks it's ok to sit my 4 year old at the table alone for 3 hours because he refused to complete a worksheet and also makes rude comments in front of the kids like " come and get your kids because they are all horrible " .this center falls very short of a Christian to say the very least they are NOT nice people... if you take the tour and are considering this school... ask for corporate contact information before hand and see what answer you get. Be aware !!! that the school disabled reviews from there Facebook back and the director had a ton of her workers and work out friends leave reviews after I posted mine..

I love this center! the kids are the priority and it's evident in the short interactions when dropping the kid off. the entire school quickly gets to know the children. my kid and my niece both started there just a day apart and by the end of the week I was either roses aunt or k' s mom. they let the kids do their own thing. mine did not like other kids when she first started going, and the teachers didn't try to force her to intersect more than she wanted. they didn't force her or get mad when she wanted to lay down and just watch. they let her be her. her vocabulary is so extensive, and she just turned 2 and is now starting the process of writing her letters. love love love this team

In our opinion its a toxic environment. There is evidence from our experience, that the staff, who turn over very fast, seemed very disheartened and disinterested in providing quality daycare. The manager will not look us in the eyes and is a motor-mouth whom we believe will say or do anything to make herself look good. If you like game playing, you will love this place. Supplies are negligible and toys are old and over used. The computers do not work. Activities are minimal and special events often do not pan out. We feel they are running this place on the cheap. Look elsewhere. Its not worth it to save a little more and run the risk of harm.

I absolutely love this daycare center! My two children have had an amazing, fun, and great learning experience here. They've learned so much from reading, writing, math, science, history, etc, which has set them up for success as they start school. The teachers are all so caring and hard-working! They always greet my children with a big warm welcome to start the day, and continue that positive energy throughout the day. My kids love coming here and feel right at home. I love all the field trips the kids get to take during camps! Sweet Pete's, MOSH, Rebounderz, Alligator Farm, St Augustine trolley, the movies... just to name only a few. They've learned prayers that they say at home. They've taken extracurricular activities like soccer and dance. They've planted a garden, dabbled in cooking, explored a real fire truck, and they've had visits from magicians, special characters, and even dentists! They do a great job of learning while having a fun time! My kids have made their first wonderful friendships here. The center is always getting involved with the community which allows us to give back too - with food drives, donations during the hurricanes, and an angel tree during Christmas for the Salvation Army. I am so happy and blessed that my children get the opportunity to come here. I'm grateful for the excellent leadership from the director and all the staff. They run and foster an organized and loving environment. I highly recommend this center!
