Corky Bell's Seafood

Our first time back in two years. We biked in and sat on the patio. Great view and great food. We had cod, flounder and shrimp with sides of fries, cheese grits and hush puppies. Very good experience with good wait staff.

First let me say this place looks great from outside and the parking lot was packed. So it must be good right? Popular because of the variety of seafood and a decent price is my guess. But my experience was lousy and I would never go back. My husband and I came around 6;00 and waited approx. 15 min for a table. Not a problem. We were seated in a back dining room. Again , no problem. The server approached in reasonable time, brought our drinks (water and ice tea) took our food order and that's when the trouble began. As I sat and looked around I noticed three tables not cleared. I also noticed that time was ticking away. My husband received his cup of clam chowder and we each received a small bowl of coleslaw. About 20 minutes later my husband asked our server when our dinners were coming. After another 20 min I received my burger and he, his breaded and fried flounder. My fries were ice cold, the burger was just ok. My husband said the fish was good, but appetites were lost after the long wait and the very messy environment. The hour and a half we were there the dirty tables were never cleaned and two more were added to the mess. While the server did take the soup and ice tea off the bill because our food was late, which was nice and we didn't ask for it, I would NEVER go back. The lack of cleanliness around us in that room was uncomfortable and the food was fair at best. Maybe locals like it but as a visitor I didn't experience my first and last visit.

I visited corky bells for an early dinner. The parking lot was almost full at 5pm. I decided to eat at the bar. The restaurant was very clean and decorated nicely. The waitresses at the bar were courteous and attentive. She took my drink order and gave me a memo. I ordered blackened shrimp and scallops with greens and stewed tomatoes and okra. The waitress kept my drink filled. The food was excellent . The shrimp and scallops were cooked well. The portion size was good. Overall it was a good meal. I would recommend it. I will return next time I'm in palatka.

A special event or everyday great restaurant. Amazing menu and friendly staff. Like all of Palatka their wine list needs help.

Great atmosphere and view of the lake. Service was quick, and the food was pretty good. The prices was very reasonable. If I'm back in Palatka, I will be back.

Corky Bell's is a nice lunch spot with outdoor seating on the St. John's River. There's an outdoor and indoor bar, and the decor gives top-notch Florida vibes. Our most recent visit was for dinner (after dark), so we didn't get the nice river-view. But we still had a nice time chilling and eating at the indoor bar. Unfortunately Corkys doesn't have great options for vegans or vegetarians. That's pretty standard in this area... but I was still able to get a decent side salad and some savory fried food. The fried Appetizer Trio hit the spot. We chose fried banana peppers, pickles, and squash. Hard to go wrong there! My husband enjoyed his steak and appreciated a good price point. Service was nice. We noticed that we were sitting among the recently cut staff for their shifter beers, and it was fun to listen in on all their after-work stories.

Situated right on the river, with multiple levels outside, it's a great place to enjoy a meal in an old Florida environment, and a good place to bring visitors. Quick service with friendly waitrons. The fried shrimp was excellent as were the oysters my husband had! We didn't get photos of our food, we were too hungry, lol

While usually we receive good service, on our recent visit, while waiting our turn to sign up for the wait list, as the receptionist was away from signin, we stepped aside so that wait staff could deliver food and another patron came in and signed up for service. My wife made it known to the young worker who was taking reservations and the other jumped in front of us. My wife made it known that we were before this woman, yet the young waitress taking reservations ignored us and placed the woman before us on the reservation and were seated before us. She placed us on reservation and we naturally assumed would be listed by order correctly.While another helper came to seat those on the list came to take over, this woman was seated, we once again told them that we were before the other customer. After seating them, she said we were next, which we informed her "NO WE ARE NOT" and left the restaurant. Our only mistake was not notifying the manager of the purposeful oversight. Well, there are other restaurants in the area, so we told the rest of our party to meet at another. Service was faster, no waiting and food promptly delivered. I suggest someone set up a reservation procedure, by giving a number in a formalized line, so that customers can be seated in the correct order.

Outstanding service and food. Was there a year ago and came back during next trip to FL.
