Amazing gallery where I had the pleasure of connecting with the artists to learn about their pieces. I stumbled upon an event Saturday while on my way to the Wine Fest and what a pleasant surprise.

I've wanted to visit the Cork for a long time and it didn't disappoint! I could have wandered through their halls & workspaces forever. The Cork provides space for artist to create, collaborate and market their work. The space is incredible & you can feel the artists' energy throughout. They all work in different mediums, so something new is around each corner. The artists host open houses and events occasionally and allow the public into their inner sanctum. You're immediately caught up in the creativity and overwhelmed by the talent in our community. The artist not only shared their visual talents - but were available to talk about their creations, new projects and entertain new clients - big and small - corporate and private. It's a great experience that I hope more of our community will see & enjoy.

Today did not disappoint. We came here today not knowing what to expect. The different local artist studios was eye-opening! I have never seen such artistry or such creativity. I was blown away with the self-portraits and the film of the forests. I recommend anyone to visit their open studies events as they are amazing.

Ever wondered what that brightly painted building by Intuition and Bold City Brewery is? CoRK started off as an abandoned warehouse but has since been renovated into artists studios varying from classic painters, sculptures, graphic designers, mixed media etc. These studios feel like a second home to the artists so when you arrive for a show there's a very intimate feel to it.My first experience with CoRK was a Cajun Pot Luck themed around Artists hailing from Louisiana! Since then I have been HOOKED and have seen show after show! One of my favorites was the UNF exhibition April 2012https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=363198047059938&set=pb.182190641827347.-2207520000.1363276298&type=3&theaterThe photo doesn't do it justice! An entire room was filled with space-aged bubble igloos large enough you could interact with it! UNF described it as, "The project Synapse will examine the inner network of connectivity within the brain." I was giddy with delight when I saw it!I live down the street from CoRK and LOVE going to all their openings. There is always something NEW to see and it's free to the public. I can't recommend this jubilant venue enough!

Cork, like its name, is quirky. There's no Cork fee either if you attend one of the open houses. If I had talent in the visual arts, I think I would have a studio here. The building, inside and out, is bursting with creativity and art. I've never had a bad experience here and I doubt I ever will.

Wow. Just wow. Wicked cool. Not generally open to the public, but if you get a chance to go to an open house or show... GO. Without hesitation GO.There are 3 buildings total that make up CoRK, each one divided into spaces, maybe more appropriately called suites, that house one or more artists (I think some artists share spaces). Some of the spaces are HUGE, others are "home office" size.Like I said, not normally open to the public, but during an open house, you really get insight into the creative mind and process of the artists. It's so cool, amazing really. Go when you can!

I got to go into the Cork Art District the other day. I will say that this place is really cool. This is such a great use of an old building. They kept a lot of the old framing from whatever factory it used to be. The big exposed wooden beams are really cool to the Bob the Builder in me. It also looks like they took old wooden pallets and lined the walls. This makes really good sense and it is a hang it and forget it material. I mean after you hang it you have no upkeep. As it gets older it gets better looking. Like Me. Ok, enough comedy. They have sectioned off little spaces for each artist. They even hang a lot of their works inside. There are some cool looking stuff on the walls too. They can also have a neat place for community dinners like the one that I'm here for. Such a neat use for an old building. I even hear of a couple more cropping up in the near future.

What a treat. Seldom is Cork open to the public so when they had an open house I was all over it. A great and eclectic blend of art forms and styles in an old wharehouse that is art in and of itself. If you can get in to see this place you will not be disappointed !
