We finally checked out Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant in Jacksonville for dinner, and it was a great experience. This was our first visit, and we had a mix of two generations at the table, which made the huge menu even more appreciated--there was plenty for everyone to choose from.We ordered the Parmesan-Crusted Chicken, Short Ribs, and my personal choice, the Parmesan-Crusted Mahi Mahi. The fish was perfectly flaky and full of flavor, served over mashed potatoes with broccolini and a light lemon sauce that was drizzled just right--not too much, not too little. Everything was cooked just right, and the flavors worked together really well. One thing that makes this place unique is that it's also an active wine club, so beyond the restaurant, they sell bottles, glasses, decanters, and other wine-related items up front. If you're into wine, there's plenty to explore, and there's also a full bar if you're in the mood for something other than wine.Service was fine--nothing special, but it got the job done. Pricing felt reasonable at about $40 per person all-in, though if you start diving into the wine list, your tab could go up pretty quickly.Reservations were easy to make online, and I'd highly recommend booking ahead because the place does get busy. Overall, this was a five-star meal with a four-star service experience, and I'd definitely go back!

We went with friends for wine tasting followed by dinner. It took a while to be served at the wine tasting bar which was a little frustrating but once we had a space we had a choice of 3 tasting menus. 8 different wines to sample, one sparkling, selection of white and reds, followed lastly by a dessert wine. The delay in the tasting session meant we had to ask for our dinner reservation to be put back but that was no problem for the restaurant team. The food at dinner was exceptional! We chose a wine we'd sampled to accompany our meal. They had run out of the crème brûlée we ordered which was a shame but we were served with a complimentary chocolate dessert instead. Price point was good for the quality of food.

Dined here by myself when in Jacksonville for work, early October 2024. Food was very good, well above even the best chain names, not quite as good as a top flight restaurant but substantially better than I had expected. It was also reasonably priced. I had a surf and turf plate with a chimichurri strip streak paired with a ginger salmon fillet. Tried several of their wines, all very good, to the point that I bought a bottle to take home. They were very generous in allowing me to taste three or four different wines at no cost - something I find frequently in Montreal and seldom in the US. My server, Donald, was outstanding - friendly, knowledgeable, responsive. Someone who is very good as his job. Host Sam was very friendly and helpful as well. My only ding was that it was pretty loud, but there were a lot of people there, probably 80% capacity, and that was on a Tuesday night. Good for them for having a thriving business!I liked Cooper's Hawk so much that I actually went back again two nights later on Thursday, as it was my first time in Jacksonville and I didn't know the area that well. It was getting late in the evening and options were getting thinner so I didn't want to drive too far. I don't eat fast food, don't like to go to big chain restaurants if I can avoid it, and Cooper's was only about 7 minutes from my hotel. On my second visit, the experience was nearly identical. The service was excellent; prompt, attentive, and friendly. On my second visit, I had a salad (fine but nothing to write home about), a very good cheeseburger that I enjoyed a lot, and a flight of their wines, which were excellent.Overall, I like Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant very much, and would recommend it for a good meal at a reasonable price.

We were looking for a new restaurant to celebrate my mother-in-law's anniversary so we tried this place for the first time. It was a great find. Half of the restaurant is for wine tasting and the other half is a nice restaurant. We were seated at a booth/table in the bar area. It had a nice ambiance with good music playing. The menu is also very nice with plenty of appetizers, salads, and entrees. I opted for one of my favorites, the short ribs. This dish came with two nice pieces of short ribs, mashed potatoes, gravy, roasted vegetables and onion straws. It was absolutely delicious. My husband had the parmesan crusted Mahi Mahi. It also came with mashed potatoes and broccoli, and was very good. My mother-in-law had the parmesan crusted chicken. It came with mashed potatoes and green beans. She said it was a very nice meal. We will definitely ne back.

I have been a wine club member for years and the food, service and ambiance is always great. The chef seasonal selections are nice options as well to mix it up. Super Tuscan red wine blend is a great wine with a smooth and robust deep flavor - make sure you get the table side aerator experience to maximize the flavor! Not sure on which wine to have, try a few at no charge before making your selection and consider their pitchers of red or white sangria with plenty of fresh fruit to dial up the experience. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu and their gluten-free bread is as good as I have had. Great parking and make reservation to ensure seated quickly on arrival.

Food is excellent and the wine tasting is very enjoyable. I really enjoyed my pistachio crusted grouper and also love the miso salmon from here. You can't go wrong with the braised short rib risotto. We were both going to try the gnocchi but they happened to be out, so we hope to try it in the future. Be sure to ask for a basket of complementary pretzel bread.

Wine bar up front and restaurant in the back. Service was very good. I had the Mahi sandwich and my wife had a creamy ranch chicken sandwich and both were good. They have a large wine selection, but I didn't have any. I would eat here again.

Coopers Hawk for the win! I went to this place for the first time to actually sit and dine and thoroughly enjoyed myself. It was a rainy day and my tablemate and I wanted to get out and enjoy some good food and wine. Welp we definitely went to the right place. The ambiance of the place is really nice, with dim lights and a great music selection. Our server wa very nice and knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and highlighted the fact that everything is made from scratch and is fully customizable. Being that most places have pre made items, that was a big plus for me. We started with some appetizers. I will say I was let down because they were out of lobster toast, and calamari. The two things I had my soul set on. Instead we got the southwest eggrolls and they did not disappoint. My tablemate ordered the Filet Mignon as an entree, and I ordered the garlic parm chicken. I did elect for them to hold that tomato sauce they put on it, and I got a cup of the terayaki glaze that goes on the salmon entree. It was the bomb! The wine pairings are superb, but can get a bit overwhelming if you do like we did and decide to sit down. My suggestion is to do a wine tasting before eating, so you can know what you want before you order. For dessert, we initially had the Cream Brûlée, but it was slightly over charred. Our server took it back no problem and swapped it for the key lime pie. It was amazing. We ended the night with an espresso martini that definitely added a nice exclamation to the already wonderful dinner. This is a highly recommended spot and we will definitely be going back.

We went for an early in the day wine tasting (def the way to go - not at all crowded and way more relaxed) and lunch. I had previously only been for wine tastings and I have been missing out on the great food they have!We did the "variety" wine tasting, and they were all great. But the standout? Pinot Noir, my new best friend. For lunch, I went with "The Prime" sandwich, which was basically a delicious hug in sandwich form. Pair that with a bottle of Prosecco (because why not keep the party going?), and it was the best little lunch out ive had in awhile! But let's talk about the real star of the show: the service. Our server made some killer recommendations and was super personable. Icing on the cake of that experience. All in all, amazing service, tasty food, and wines that made me feel fancier than I probably really am!
