Clay Times Art Center

Wow! I can't even believe that Polly would post Something to my review after 4 YEARS!!! Really?!?I recently had a wonderful class with another clay person... It was Great!!!There were several people in the sameclass that had the same experience that I had with Polly. Glad to have found someone who cared enough to actually show up to teach! Would never recommend her! She never showed up and had lots of excuses!

I booked an art class for four people, drove all the way from Jacksonville (over an hour away) and no one at the shop had any idea who I was or why I was there. I finally got ahold of the owner, who said she forgot about the class. We rescheduled for two weeks later, and drove an hour to the class again. The owner texted me just before the class began to tell me that she had arranged to take friends to the airport and wouldn't make the class. She believed it would only take 30 minutes, but the traffic was extremely backed up and so the class had to be canceled again. She was very rude, argumentative , and simply said "things happen" when I reminded her that I drove an hour each way to attend. It was inconsiderate and unprofessional to say the least. Now, I am out all of the money and time I spent on travel. Her response to this was "I'm not responsible for that".

The owner of this art center is Polly Beach who also is the editor/owner of ClayTimes Magazine. I ordered something from Clay Times over a month ago and have yet to receive it. I have emailed mulitple addresses, attempted to contact her on mulitple of her social media sites, have emailed this art center as well as left a voicemail. I have heard nothing! Great way to run a business!! And I am out my money. I would avoid Clay Times Magazine and Clay Times Art Center! Very poor customer service!!

Over the holidays, we wanted to do a family activity with my fiancé's family. We had 7 family members of all ages including 7 year-old twins. We signed up to do a introductory wheel throwing class about a month in advance and worked out the details with Polly ahead of time.Polly did a wonderful job walking us through all of the steps and we all came out with wonderful, unique pots. We really enjoyed the whole process and spent a bit more time painting them.Polly was a gracious host and excellent instructor with so much foresight and patience. She was great with the kids too.We definitely recommend learning this new skill with her. Thank you, Polly!!

Came in from out of town to do a pottery class with the family. The class was fun and informative. Me and my family all made bowls where we selected the color and finish on the bowls, which then were to be mailed to us once the bowls were fired and finished. Told Polly, the owner, to just let me know how much shipping was and I could pay the shipping via Venmo, PayPal, etc so she could ship the bowls. After multiple attempts via phone and text over many many months, didn't get a text or phone call back to provide status, and my family and I never received the bowls we made....very disappointing.

We had a amazing time. We came with family and my two seven year old twins and had a blast. Polly was super helpful and took extra time to help our family make some master pieces. What a fun time. We will definitely be back
