Let me start off by saying that I've never actually eaten inside Clara's Tidbits before, but they have been one of my top go-tos for lunch delivery for the past few years with good reason. I started off trying different sandwiches when we would do a group order for lunch when I worked in Springfield. I'll have a Roast Beef or Chicken Salad Sandwich every now again or maybe some soup. Nowadays, I just need a big, ole largely porportioned salad that I can customize to my needs. From stage left, enter the Tidbits Special. I know that I could just easily make my own salads at home and, trust me, I do that. However, there's just something special about a place that can make you a delicious salad with all the right ingredients each and every time. The Tidbits Special combines some Spring Mix-style greens, some of Clara's seasoned chicken chunks, a little bit of pasta salad, and fresh avocado. Then you get some alfalfa sprouts, carrots, roma tomatoes, celery, bell peppers, green onions and cucumbers. On top of that, all of their dressings are made in house and that balsamic vinaigrette is my favorite. Sometimes they include a little spice mix that livens the whole thing up. I'm just pretty sure it's Tony Chachere's and if it's not there, I have some in my spice rack. On top of the salad and dressings, you have a choice of drink and dessert of which I always opt for the fresh chocolate chip cookies. Now that I work in another county, I can only get my Tidbit Special fill when I have a random week day off, but it's always worth it.

Surprisingly this was my first Tidbits experience. Id heard mixed things but then after hearing rave reviews about the famous potato salad, I had to try it for myself. Let me tell you that potato salad is famous for a reason. It's so creamy with a hint of mustard and will leave you craving more!The new location is right near the original and it's huge inside. Plenty of seating even during the busy lunch time.

Admittedly we hadn't been to this location in a while. We were close enough I suggested here bec they use to have a salad bar which the cashier said they closed during Covid (I said it had been a while...lol)! She then said I could build my own salad bar, turned the iPad around and instructed me to pick what I want... which I did! It was great and huge; I added chicken salad, potato salad feta, tons of veggies and I ate and ate but needed a "to-go box" still! I'll have to see if the Mandarin Tidbits has this option too...

I really like Tidbits. I find parking on the side street. I like to get my orders to-go and sit inside. The sandwiches are delicious. However, you don't know what you are missing if you haven't tried their potato or pasta salad. I get these sides for myself and buy huge containers to bring to parties and office lunches. Consistency is the key here. You get what you are expecting and not disappointed (knock on wood) The staff are friendly, the place is clean, and the food is delicious. It's a lunch place and they close early; is my only gripe. :)

There was a bit of line once entering but it was lunch time so to be expected. Glad they had a set help kiosk available to order for quicker service. Not much of a wait either with how busy it was, maybe 5-10 after ordering. Clara's gives me old school diner vibes lol not bad, I like it. I had the chicken avocado pita and it was so delicious. I wish I had ordered 2! Definitely will be back to try others items.

I started coming to this location in the mid eighty's. I ate lunch there a lot when I worked downtown, despite having to cross the bridge to get there. I also used this location for many years to cater for my workplace and for a non profit when I was on the board of directors. I have lived in 5 different states. So when I say Tidbits is the BEST chicken salad ever, it comes from someone who has searched far and wide to find something as good..... and failed. Whenever I come back to the Jax area to visit, this is the only place I want to go eat. When my daughter visits without me, I always ask her to bring back some chicken salad.....it travels from Florida to North Carolina! The chicken salad pita and the chicken salad scoop on a salad is my go to. It's different than any other chicken salad....in a good way! It comes with your choice of side and I always get the potato salad . I could eat a bowl full. It's awesome. The place is always clean and you are guaranteed smiles along with fast service. I always have a bottle of Clara's seasoning in my spice rack and use it to make my own chicken salad....but it never comes close to Tidbits. I'm your biggest fan Tidbits!

Came to Jacksonville on a layover and a friend who lives here took me to Tidbits. The restaurant itself is very cute. Plenty of seating, not dirty.I ordered a chicken avocado pita. Cost $10.99 plus tax and it came with a side. I chose fruit salad. Didn't think it was gonna be too big but this thing was HUGE!! And they definitely don't skimp you on the chicken!! It came with a side of ranch for dipping and that made the pita! Was SO DELICIOUS!! And also healthy which made it even better. The lady at the counter was very friendly. Gave me a cup for water which I always ask for so I love that I didn't even have to ask. Lots of sandwich and salad choices on the menu so I'm sure you'll find something you like. I'd definitely go back if I'm ever in the area.

I love this place. Been going forever and practically order the same exact thing - the broccoli soup, the famous chicken salad and famous potato salad - all made in house! I love her seasoning and over season everything b/c it's so good! And I haven't seen anything come out for my friends that isn't looking scrumptious. Tidbits being a mile away from my work is terrible for my addictive personality... At some point in the near future my body mass may be made up of 25% Tidbits chicken salad and potato salad! If you are a fan of chicken salad, potato salad, and/or cold sandwiches, you need to try this place out. The BEST potato salad in town. They are probably glad they are open from 11am-2:30pm because they would get tired of seeing me all day every day!
