Cielo Azul Mexican Kitchen And Seafood

Went shopping at The Avenues in Jacksonville and since we love Mexican food we decided to try this restaurant. First of all, it's a great atmosphere and we loved sitting outside. The day was perfect for that. Our waitress Marianne came out quickly to take our orders and was very pleasant and eager to serve. She even brought water for our corgi, Riley. I ordered the Burrito Loco and Mark the lunch two chicken enchiladas with rice and beans to go. He had made the mistake of eating a Cinnabon when we got there so he decided to eat his lunch later! Everything was wonderful, including the chips, salsa, drinks, and of course, our meals. Great atmosphere, great service and excellent food. What more can one want?'

From the start I was greeted with a smile and served quickly. There seemed to be just one server, it was an early lunch on a Monday so understandable. She was awesome! She took my order, made recommendations and assisted me with a smile the whole time!The food was delicious. I got the signature quesadilla, chicken. I loved that the soft shell had crunch to it and the quesadilla was full of flavor. The sides, red rice and salad were good too. I felt the salsa that came as a free appetizer taste like it wasn't made on site but when asked was told it was. It was rather bland and tastes more like tomato sauce with a bit of herbs thrown in, it could be it's not what I'm use to. It's why I thought it was canned.The restaurant is really cool and I took my time because it felt comfy and played good Latin music. There are lots of booths and tables that seat 6 and more! They even have a happy hour every day at 2pm!Looks like another server arrived while I was eating . He worked the other side and seemed to be just as helpful and gave service with a smile to his customers too. My server, Danny was awesome and why I gave it 5 stars vice 4(salsa).

My daughter and I took a break from shopping to eat some food. We waited at the hostess station as servers walked by us, no one acknowledged our presence, after a while we made our way to the bar. The bartender asked us if we wanted a sit at the bar or a table? I was able to suppress my hangry attitude and respond with, "A table". Finally! My dream of filling my stomach with some Mexican food is about to come true.....NOT! Servers went to every table except ours. After a good 15 minutes of analyzing the menu, figuring out what we're ordering, our mouths watering as we watch/smell plates of food go by and sign of our server we gathered the bags and left. I would never go back to that restaurant!

Ladies Luncheon here on a Friday afternoon. Party of 5 and everyone loved their entries and had some to even take home. It is my second time here and it just keep getting better. Here it is a fun place to watch a Jag game as you get a tequila shot when they score.

My family brought me here for my birthday. The place is small and part of the Avenues mall. Now, I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. They had live entertainment and the service was pretty good. Now- the food was excellent. The portions were huge but we always like to take food home since we don't eat out a lot anymore. So, we did order quite a bit. Check out the pics to see. They had the best rice and beans! Also, their chips and salsa are the best in town. I also really like their Coctel de Camarones. It was refreshing with it being served in a large cup mixed with tomatoes, onions and cilantro. It also had a lime and orange wedge. On the side of the shrimp cocktail were two tortillas and some crackers. I ordered the Plato fiesta and it too had shrimp in a spicy sauce with a slice of chicken breast and steak. I liked the shrimp cocktail the best.

Absolutely wonderful Mexican food with friendly service! The portions are very large and prices are reasonable for the delicious flavors and portions received. The ambience has Hispanic vibes with good music and drinks. Highly recommend to anyone near by (:

What this restaurant can improve?!? FOOD! You advertise fresh seafood or fresh food if all your food is FROZEN and RE-HEATED! My family and I went there 2 different times. Hoping it'll get better. We all ordered different in these 2 times we went so I can taste a little of what this place has to offer. It was very disappointing. If I can give ZERO stars I would. Instead I'll give that star to our server. He was very nice and attentive and the ambience.PLEASE, STOP MAKING YOUR FOOD A WEEK IN ADVANCE and RE-HEATING and calling it FRESH. If that plate is coming out piping hot that means it's been in a MICROWAVE!

Friendly and attentive service, good food. We ordered the Molcajete (which is the Mexican version of the mortar (no pestle) and filled to the brim with a mix of steak, chicken, chorizo, camaron, queso fresco, nopal, grilled veggies, cambray onions and red sauce). Also opted for the Ceviche de Camaron (Shrimp ceviche). Both were almost too pretty to eat but we dove in and still packed leftovers for home. We also arrived just in time to partake in their happy hour specials. Cielo Azul is in the former Ruby Tuesdays spot at the Avenues Mall so it's a good option if you want to grab a bite before or after shopping - or even if you're not shopping at all! It's also a concept by the same family that owns Salsas Mexican Restaurant, Anejo Cocina Mexicana restaurants and 904 Street Tacos and Cantina.

The food is very generous in portions as well as tasty. The service at the bar is good. I love the vibe it has with all the colors and dim lighting. Great little outing spot.

Fresh, delicious food. Drinks were so yummy too - skinny margarita. !!!!!Fresh nachos served complimentary!!!
