Chubby Burrito

Had the carne asada fries and holy moly they were incredible! Haven't had such great carne asada fries since I lived in Phoenix! 10/5 experience.

Carne asada fries. These are amazing. It was everything I was hoping for and hit all the yum spots. I ordered from the Emerson location as it's in my way home from work, I had a great experience with everyone I came in contact with. I highly recommend.

This is a review for the food truck, Chubby Burrito, outside of the VyStar building downtown, Jacksonville There are 4 trucks there today and lots of benches on which you can eat lunch. We opted for Mexican food. Now closer to home, the DC area has some excellent, authentic food trucks that make you feel like you are on the streets of Mexico. CB was not on par! The menu options were good. However our taco salads were okay, but balanced. My carne asada had flavor but was too salty. I got very little lettuce and no pico/tomato. There was a lot of smashed black beans (no pinto refrito) and rice, but not much salad. Also interesting, they use mozzarella cheese (Italian). Portions were good but the dish was very heavy. Salsa is self serve, I wouldn't trust it in sweltering heat because it isn't kept chilled.

Yikes, this food truck is BAD. First, the person taking orders is stone cold and makes you feel like you're bothering them just being there. When I walked to the truck and was acknowledged after 2-3 mins (nobody was in line ahead of me or behind me), I smiled said hello and how are you? I was completely ignored, not a smile, nothing. Like a "what the F do you want kind of look". That should have been my sign but I ignored it and gave my order. She swiped my card, didn't say thank you, didn't say how long it would be, just walked away. About 10 mins later my food was ready and here's a breakdown:Seafood Sample: bland, wet fish. Nothing good, nor absolutely terrible but below average. Also, this was supposed to come with rice and beans. The beans were so cold that they sprinkled cheese on top and the cheese couldn't even melt. There was also no rice included but fries instead. Again, I was not told these items were out of stock or asked to make any substitutions. The fries give were fresh and good once I ran a napkin over each fry to get the excessive amount of salt off. You can see in the pic, they couldn't even bother to put a lid on the sauce. Asada Nacho Fries: did not come with pico, sour cream or mozzarella as listed on the menu. Maybe they ran out of those ingredients but I was never informed of this. What I got were the SALTIEST fries and cheese sauce that I've ever had. I tend to be a little heavy on liking salt but this was insane; literally couldn't eat it. That and the missing toppings made this a 0/5 stars. Salsa at register: they had a squirt bottle of salsa that you could put into little ramekins and take with you. I hesitated because today it was 103 degrees out and this was just sitting out on the counter. No ice, nothing. Just sitting. For hours. Mediocre, lazy, bland food. And the funny part is, that describes the persons attitude who took and gave me my order. I will never go back to this establishment. Nothing was good, memorable or pleasant.

Distinctly average. The tacos are fine, but way too expensive -- they offer a three taco with rice/beans lunch for $15, but what they don't tell you is that (1) there are undisclosed upcharges for certain meats and (2) the rice and beans are tiny portions. So you could end up with a $20 lunch and still be a little hungry, because the tacos aren't all that big either. The meats are well cooked, especially the shrimp. But they tend to douse everything in heavy creamy sauces, and the tortillas are clearly store bought. They have a couple nice salsas to take to go, but the little cups and lids they put out to use don't fit together (one of those little things that just annoy me). It's fine, but you can almost certainly do better at another truck.

Day 4 of being back in the office and Day 2 of food trucks to help ease the transition. Thanks again to @veritivcorporation for the great "welcome back" week! Today's food truck is @chubbyburritojax and they were outstanding. I got the Chubby Tacos; three tacos with your choice of meat and topped with onions and cilantro served with a side of rice and beans. I chose Asada, grilled shrimp, and Al Pastor for my meat choices. All delicious, but my favorite was the Al Pastor with its marinated pork and pineapple. Spicy and sweet! I'm going to miss these food truck days come next week, but what a great way to make coming back to the office fun and enjoyable!

I called tried to order by phone they asked me to text my order. The prices on the website were major lower than the prices when I arrived .When I arrived still took 15 minutes to get my order I paid in cash stated I wanted to give them a two dollar tip They stated that they did not have change and I ended up giving them a 3 dollar tip The meat was over cooked , way to salty Felt like I was eating Jerry Stay away from this place It is awful

Food truck that I visited in downtown Jacksonville at the end of May 2024. Food came out really quick it was fresh nice and greasy big fat burrito. They give a little bit of guacamole and chips with the burrito. They have two soft choices on the side of the truck One is like a smokey spicy red sauce and the other is a green tomatillo sauce. The tomatillo sauce is a little sweeter and a little more flavorful. I had the chubby burrito and like I said it was really good. With a diet Coke I think the total was around $15.

I had the spicy chicken burrito. It was divine and very filling. Also very quick turn around on ordering.

Best shrimp and fries ever. Service is ahhhhhPrices or a bit overpriced compared to just 3 months ago
