This is an excellent seafood spot and they have other great options as well. But when visiting in Florida, it has to be seafood. This place serves up some of the best I have had and a wonderful waitstaff too!!We enjoyed a sort of old Florida theme this place has. We had a very brief wait and it was it ever worth it. Another two thumbs up for this place!

Stopped in for a late lunch and it was not too busy when we arrived and were seated right away. The location is clean and has lots of TVs around to see different event/games. It was Superbowl Sunday so they had a lot of the pre-game coverage on.We started with some fried pickles that came out quickly and were very tasty. We were all pretty hungry so they didn't last very long. I was going to do the fish tacos, but most of the toppings has peppers in them (I'm allergic) so I opted for the fried shrimp. They were cooked well and it was a lighter batter (which I prefer), but there was not much flavor in the batter. The kids both had the kids sirloin and they enjoyed their food. They ordered the steak medium rare and it did come out more medium, but they said it was ok.The service was friendly and would stop by to check on us. There was not anything specific that called out to make me want to come back again, but there was nothing that was bad - it was a generally good visit.

After spending a couple of hours getting stuck in the sand at a beach less than a half mile away, we were a bit peckish, so we decided to visit Charlie Horse for something satisfying. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived, but filled up quickly. Our waitress was on point, attentive and friendly. We were vacationing with Jeremy's family, who are not from Maryland. They ordered: Bite Size Maryland Style Crab Cakes (Bite-sized crab cakes made with real crab meat. Served with our signature dipping sauce). Jeremy and I cringed. If there's one thing you learn living in Baltimore, crab cakes outside our state never ever measure up.Jeremy and I shared the Captain Brian's Seafood Sampler (1/2 lb. steamed shrimp, snow crab cluster, and a grilled fish filet.) Jeremy was utterly delighted by the fish. We struggled a bit with the snow crab. It kept shredding when we tried to remove the meat from the shell. The shrimp were perfect. I think these hush puppies are amongst the best I have ever tasted, which made up for the lackluster crab bisque. Even with added salt and pepper, it didn't have much flavor. We also had cocktails.Jeremy had the Berry Martini (Absolut Raspberri, triple sec, strawberry puree and cranberry juice) which he loved.I had something called The Captains Vacation, which I cannot find on the online menu to give you a proper description. It was rum heavy and did the job.The family ordered a bunch of other stuff, but I sometimes feel weird asking people what they thought of their meal. I saw all empty plates, so I think it must have been an enjoyable meal for everyone.

We were a party of five. We stopped here after a gymnastics competition for a late lunch. My son-in-law and I had the white fish basket which came with french fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. The fish was delicious and so were the hush puppies. He liked the tartar sauce I did not. I preferred the cocktail sauce, but it seemed like it had been watered down. My daughter had the shrimp and said it was OK. My granddaughters both had the child steak platter and french fries which they said we were good. For an appetizer the table shared fried pickles with ranch dressing both were excellent. If we are in the area, we may stop again and try something else. The price did not seem bad. The service was good but a little slow.

We came because my son loves crab legs! Especially all-you-can-eat crab legs. Warning, however, these AYCE legs are $95 per person! That must be the going price in this area because it is not in the Gulf. I ordered the grilled fish with garlic mashed potatoes. The fish was good. The potatoes were okay. My husband had the chicken wings and fries. He said it was good. My daughter had a cheeseburger and fries. My son said his crab legs were good but not worth $95. Overall the food was good but not overwhelmingly so.

Ouch, my leg! I don't know if I understand the name, or one review which calls this an "upscale diner" (it's not), but it's your run-of-the-mill American restaurant with a variety of options. It's right across from the Ormond Beach parking lot for the beach, so it's a good spot to grab a quick bite before you head to the ocean.I was with my dad and my cousin and they both got salads which were fresh and delicious according to them. The Shrimp on the Caesar salad were Huge. Tiny Elvis would have been in awe over and over and over again. (RIP Rob Schneider).I had the Fish Fry which was 11 Bucks on Friday and wow, the fish was so lightly breaded and moist. The fries were hot and thin and salty, like a shipwrecked pirate. The Hush Puppies were Meh, but I think that of all Hush Puppies (sorry big eared dogs). Service was excellent too. The awesome server saw I was running low on Tartar Sauce and suggested she brings me a 3rd cup! Yaaaaaassss... I didn't have to ask! Wowza! I slathered on my fish and fries (or chips for you brits reading along). We were in and out an under an hour at 11a-ish on a Friday, and had plenty of time to enjoy the beach.

Went for the all you can eat crab. But everything was great. The spicy margaritas taste so good. The crab was cooked perfectly the fried food was delicious and not over cooked. The shrimp jalapeño poppers were delicious. I wish a bit spicier but that's just me. I will definitely go back!

This restaurant was chosen as we traced during bike week (unintentionally). However we tried the following:Fish Trip basket (provided .multiple sauces)Shrimp entree (10 shrimps) you can request more for additional charges.Side of fries Iced teaCorn nuggetsStrong beansOverall the server was nice and very attentive. Downside includes being sat by the bathroom and a couple who seemed to be more interested in our table and selection of foods than their own. Cool place to dine momentarily. Not sure what the environment is outside of bikers week as there were large numbers of biker groups - which we have no issues but chose the location to relax and had no idea of the celebration occurring. *Cool place to try if you've never been.

What is going on, today we stopped at the Charlie Horse and found out why it wasn't busy. The Haddock dinner was greasy, hush puppies were greasy tasteless donut holes and the red potatoes tasted like they were from the day before. What happened, they had the best fish in town and I admit it has been several months since we have been there. But for some reason the food has gone done hill. My husband had the Pot Roast, which everything was good, except the mashed potatoes had a distinctive instant potato flavor. I look forward to returning, but it will not be anytime soon. The servicer was excellent, but never ask how the food was, we were hoping it was just a bad day for the cook.
