We come here when our nephew is visiting. He plays baseball and we come here so hubby and hubby's dad can practice with him. My husband grew up playing baseball and was a pitcher (I'd just like to add he can still throw a really mean fastball... but I'm not bragging or anything LOL). My father-in-law is in his mid-sixties and has been playing softball his entire life... he is still on a team to this day.The fields are always empty and there's never anyone around, so it's the perfect place for my nephew to practice. With all that being said, it's a pretty pathetic ball park. The grass is always in need of being cut. There's a swimming pool here that doesn't even have water in it. There are huge potholes everywhere in the parking lot. And get this, there's one field that is really, really overgrown and where the pitcher's mound is suppose to be now looks like some kind of Indian Burial Ground. It's downright creepy. Note to self: Take a photo of it the next time we are here, upload it to Yelp, and then put a link to the picture right here.Maybe once upon a time ago this use to be a nice ball park, but not anymore. I am glad it's here because it serves our needs, but I really wish Jacksonville would do something to help bring it back to life.

I come here on occasion with my nephew and dad to help my nephew practice. The fields here are not in very good condition at all. I'm sure the fields used to be in great condition, but sadly those days are in the past. The only reason we come here is it's nearby...if we find a better place to practice this may change in the future.

Whether you support your children in sports, enjoying the park with comfortable benches for those supervising, an ancient pool, the bingo hall for adults, my voting pole on election day, or available for rent.
