Haircut is too short but I can tell that it will grow into the type of pixie I want. This shop doesn't seem to be fully operational and the multilevel stairs and landing to the salon are murder for older people. The downstairs seems to be being used as an art studio or transition area though it has numerous salon stations.. as though the salon once had a much bigger clientele. This is an historic carriage house that could be wonderful if properly kitted out. I would use this salon again but will ask for service downstairs which is available if you ask for it. Marissa was my stylist. I asked for someone who is good with short hair and I'm pleased with how well she did with me as a first time customer who wanted to "zero base" my hairstyle.

When looking for a good hair salon, the average woman is looking for a relationship, a go-to person they trust with their hair.Since moving to Florida I spent 5 years looking for a great salon that delivered top notch service in both cut and color; one where selling a kidney to pay for professional service is not required. So many salons are over-rated with inexperienced stylist. This salon truly delivers. Brandon is the best and never disappoints. He takes the time to listen to his clients. He does great with color and I love my hair every single time I set in his chair. He he a true hair artist.

I LOVE this salon! I've lived in several different states and I've never loved my haircut more than I do now. I went to see Lesley, because I had gotten an awful haircut. My previous stylist gave me an uneven haircut & Lesley saved the day! My hair is now even & has grown out a bit. I went back yesterday & Lesley totally listened to what I wanted & gave me a great haircut that's easy to style too! Thank you so much, Lesley! The salon is really cute inside too & Stephanie is so sweet! I love it!

I have been going to this salon for nearly two decades -- first as a teen who saved my pennies to make sure cutting my nearly waist-length high school hair into the 90s pixie cut was done properly. Now in my 30s, and having relocated back to Florida from NYC, I fully appreciate their consistent, quality talent who truly listen to the clients. I can't tell you how many times they have had to FIX what other salons (due to location issues) have done to my hair -- even the ones that Stephanie (owner) took time out of her day to explain step-by-step what color and developer level to use to other stylists cross country!I LOVE this place. Cecil and Stephanie are dedicated professionals that care about their business and I never walk out of there without celebrity-quality hair.

This salon not only gave me nothing for 200 dollars and told me I needed to come back for a second appointment. The environment is highly rude for no apparent reason. She shooed me out of my 200 dollar appointment saying she needed to close up. I left with wet hair after waiting an hour and half with a scheduled appointment.

Truly a 5 star place. The time I was buzzed in the door I felt like I was family! It was a mommy / daughter day, my teenager daughter has finally found a place that knows how to give her a grown up look but still youthful fitting her age. We live in Indiana mainly & jax is our second home. We now travel more to jax just to get our hair done here. If your looking for celebrity style hair this is the place to be!

This is an amazing salon! I've been going to Sarah for almost 3 years now and she's been THE best hair stylist I've ever had. Everyone that works at the salon is super friendly and I always look and feel like a million bucks when I leave. Highly recommended!!

I was a loyal Cecil's client for years prior to my departure from Jacksonville. Ronny was my stylist and I would NEVER go anywhere else. They took an old English style house and turned it into a unique space filled with amazing jewelry and actually stocked their salon/hair studio with products that you won't really find anywhere else in Jacksonville. (At least not up until a little over a year ago)Cobblestone, exposed brick and wood beams, cozy cozy cozy.Lisa was awesome and I always loved that you had to be buzzed in to enter.Costs for services were always priced right and I would leave looking a thousand times better than I did when I walked in. All of the stylists there really seem to understand and master hair design- and aren't just recent high school graduates who decided to take up 'hair cutting'.Sad to say, but unless a multitude of amazing salons have opened since I've left Florida, Cecil's is/was probably one of a select few places that would ever make it should they opt to open a location outside of Jacksonville. *Or the South for that matter.

Wow. Sarah is a truly talented stylist with both color and haircuts. My last highlight was a buttery, clean, multidimensional blonde with the perfect balance of neutral, gold, and ash. It's tough to get a good neutral-golden blonde right without it looking brassy or unnatural but she delivered in spades. Best part is, the highlights blend with my natural hair seamlessly so they grow out beautifully. If that wasn't enough, she also delivers a mean haircut. Blended, bouncy, meticulous. When you think of "the perfect haircut" this comes pretty close in my mind. Subtly layered and fluid without having choppy, obvious layers. She manages to do all that while maintaining healthy, blunt-ish ends...no wispy/feathery ends here. Thanks for the best highlight AND the best haircut ever!

Thanks to Brynn, I feel like I stepped into a time machine. My hair is beautifully colored and shinier than it's been in many years. Not to mention a perfect cut and blow dry. A much needed relaxing afternoon, in a classy environment, run by a friendly and helpful team.
