Went to Cataluna Jax last night for dinner and was severely underwhelmed and was later met with a horrible stomachache. I've been before when they first opened and everything was super good but they fell short last night. The bruschetta was yummy although I wish the bread was toasted a bit more and the drinks were good. For my entree I had the shrimp and lobster pasta which was probably the worst dish of the night. It was not seasoned at all, it just tasted like lobster water but nothing else and the noodles were also not seasoned and mushy. The Greek salad was ok, and the lamb chop was ok as well - but I think it was the culprit for my stomach upset as, it was the one thing shared between me and my dinner guest (and we both didn't feel well after.) The fries were probably the best part of the night but other than that it wasn't worth the price. You're truly paying for the ambiance and not necessarily the food, which is pricey so it's a disappointment to experience less than.

Absolutely beautiful decor. Art deco meets modern luxe. This is definitely the nicest restaurant in northeast Florida. Mushroom Arancini: A+. Crunchy on the outside and packed with a succulent mushroom flavor on the inside. And the parmesan cream was took the experience to a whole other level.Wild Salmon: A. The salmon was succulent and perfectly cook. The potatoes and spinach were very flavorful. I thought the portion size was perfect.Chicken Roulade: A+.I have to say - this dish was a revelation. The fregola alone was just ridiculously good. And then the chicken blew us away.Service: the waitress was very helpful with the menu.

Cataluna is absolutely beautiful and as soon as you walk in you feel as if you have transported to a completely different place. I had to give Cataluna three stars bc there were some really great things and then some really sub par things. Pork belly and mezza dip platter amazing. Cocktail was not anything great, I switched to wine after having a drink. Gyoza was like warm at best and I never tasted shrimp or scallop inside. Satay was also like warm and nothing great. I have had better gyoza and satay out of a food truck. The servers were amazing and constantly checking on us. The fire dancer was really cool too. Glad I finally got to check out Cataluna as it was an amazing experience, but the food was just ok. You are def paying for the experience at Cataluna.

5-stars, for sure. Their place is absolutely on Fleek. Valet parking, exquisite decor, and a fire dancing performer all add +++ to the atmosphere. Along with stellar food and attentive staff, they had a great wine selection. We had the bruschetta, a cucumber-tomato salad, Seabass, salmon, and the flambé for dessert. Everything was just perfect. If the prices don't scare you, I would highly recommend, I felt it was totally worth it. *hidden gem*

My first impression is, extraordinary The menu is limited, but still some good options. The sliders were great and the fries, if you like crispy fries you're in the right place. Everybody enjoyed there plates except the pasta w/short ribs. The person who ordered says there was little of the short ribs. The steak was tender and seasoned.Would I go back, no, just not my vibe. Be prepared to turn your wallet inside out at this establishment.

The Salmon avocado tartar was a refreshing start, bursting with flavor and freshness. The Mediterranean salad was a symphony of colors and textures, perfectly balanced and satisfying. The Chilean seabass melted in our mouths, cooked to perfection and accompanied by delectable sides. The Shrimp pasta was a true highlight, with plump shrimp and al dente pasta in a flavorful sauce. The wine and cocktail selection were equally impressive, offering a wide range of options to suit every palate. Each drink was expertly crafted and thoughtfully paired with our dishes, enhancing the overall dining experience. The ambiance of Cataluna Jax added another layer of luxury to the evening. 2nd visit and much better than the first! This time I went for a friend's birthday with a group of about 13 women. We were promptly seated in one of the front corners and our drink orders were taken. I ordered a glass of Sauvignon Blanc, can't go wrong. We waited on the last of our group for awhile so I can't fault the timeliness of the service. We ordered the bruschetta appetizer to share and the bread was incredible - a toasted garlic baguette and the bruschetta was an interesting blend of zucchini, eggplant, and peppers. I would order it again if someone in my party was interested, but would likely try something else next time. For my main I ordered the rigatoni ragu which notably consisted of rigatoni noodles, short rib, and mushrooms. They definitely didn't skimp on the short rib, but it also wasn't the most tender. Overall, the dish was good but I would likely try something else next time as well. Lastly, the birthday girl brought her own cake and we were each charged a $5 cake fee. I have no problem with this, but with a group of 13 the cake cutting fee ended up costing more than the cake itself! Overall, I'd recommend checking it out once or twice - but not sure how long it'll last considering its unfortunate Phillips Highway location.

Probably one the most stylish and nicely decorated restaurants in Jacksonville. Service was on point and very friendly overall. We ordered 3 plates and they were all really good.It had been a while I had tried some good arancinis, and this made the cut. The octopus was pretty good, but it still needs some work if you ask me; a little bit more time on the grill would've made it.The best was the rigatoni with the short rib! It's those kinds of plates you don't want them to run out.Definitely coming back! Most likely on Friday or Saturday night to feel a little bit more of the ambience.

Loved the interior and Loved the service. Such a vibe of mediterranean music/tropical vibe. the emerald hunter green with gold blinged out decor was perfect.Came first with my husband then few weeks after with my family. Each experience was perfect. We were party of 7 and got to sit around the vip area near the dj booth which was a treat. Interior- Mediterranean/Elegant and classy. the hunter green emerald hues, golden lights and greenery made everything so upscaleFood and drinks- On point. I don't deal with alcohol so I got the non alcoholic burano which had small scoops of frozen fruit cubes with peach soda jasmine which was super flavorful. For dinner I had shared my plate with my cousin the fried lamb and ravioli with mushrooms which was so delish! My cousin got the tomohawk as every one shared this huge rib. We also had house fries with truffle oil and topped with parmesan. The service was wonderful as the waitress always checked on us. The only this i would say is that they don't split the bill it has to all go on one check. Other than that the music, food and place a vibe! I will be back.
