Some of the best burgers in Jacksonville. Seriously, they are worth driving across town for. My favorite is the Tar Heal, delicious It's a real local jewel and has a fun vibe

Got the Riverside burger, a side of fries and a small drink. Came out to just over $23 before a tip was requested. It was a solid (albeit small) burger but I'm not sure these prices are warranted. Staff was nice, the vibe is laid back, but again, wow. Eating out is getting pricier than ever, making me go out less, thus, making me even more selective about the places I patron. Worth a try if you're a fan of burgers, but dang.

Carolina Jax had been my go to burger spot for a few years now. Front of house is always pleasant and enjoyable. Why the 4 stars and not 5 for my go to burger joint? As this establishment became more popular, I have found that the quality became inconsistent.. wether it be the fries or the burgers themselves. My go to is their onion burger with a side of their curry ketchup! Don't sleep on their creative sauces.

A surprisingly enjoyable experience for a burger joint. The menu boasts an extensive selection of burgers, which caters to a variety of tastes. I opted for a classic, keeping it simple, and while the flavor was satisfying, I encountered a small hiccup: despite requesting the sauce on the side, it was unfortunately slathered all over the burger. I wasn't a fan of the sauce. The regular fries, however, were impressive in portion size--ample enough to share among three or even four people.Service was prompt, and my burger arrived fresh and cooked to perfection, just as I had ordered. The atmosphere has a laid-back, self-service vibe, making it ideal for a quick bite without any fuss.

Solid Smash Burger as far as taste. What I didn't enjoy was the bottom of my bread being soaked by all the grease from the burger, toppings were fresh though.. fries were nicely fried, I enjoyed the seasoning on them Milkshake was nice and thick how i like them

I'm a fan. came here for the first time and quite disappointed that I didnt find this place earlier... It was packed when i came for lunch. And with good reason. I went with the hurricane burger and cajun fries. No disapointment. I loved the smash burger, melted cheese, mac and grilled jalapenos. They have a large unique menu of burgers, and I will be back to try the others. Very nice staff and great service as well.

We went to Carolina Jax for dinner tonight. I got the EAST COAST "COMPETITION" burger. This was the first time I got this burger and have to say "wow" it is my favorite!!!! Love the flavor! * Patty cooked in mustard, two slices American cheese, grilled onion, classic sauce and pickle on potato bun with bacon jam. My wife got the GRANDMA'S CHILI BOWL. She said it was good and had very god flavor. * Ingredients: Side portion of gma's chili (no beans) topped with cheddar jack cheese, sour cream and green onion. We both shared the BEER BATTERED ONION RINGS Served with Texas Petal sauce. The rings have good flavor but are a little greasy in our opinion. We had to blot them with a napkin before eating. We also got two milkshakes; Turtle Turtle shake and the Keylime Pie milkshake. Both were good.

On some days the burger is amazing - best in Jacksonville. But on other days the same burger is disappointing. Inconsistent is the word. We've been here many times, and loved it at first. I get the same burger almost every time. I've tried a few others - the fried onion, the hurricane (mac and cheese is delicious), the Carolina (didn't like the slaw). But I'm a classic burger guy, and that's what I usually order. It has been amazing on some days, but not on others. The problem is the patty. They cook their patties extremely inconsistently. It can be way too dense, even lumpy, and it can be served without any sear as if it was not on the stove long enough. Yet other days it is perfectly seared. The difference matters. A burger without a sear is a burger I can't be happy about. Management may want to reexamine the way they run the line - it is not only inefficient but invites a lot of room for error. Avoid peak hours. The wait can be super long when this place gets busy. The loaded fries are awesome. If ordering for two, get a half size, they are gigantic.

Everything from the time we walked into the restaurant, the order, and taste and quality of the food was perfect. I had the East Coast Competition burger and it was absolutely delicious. Lettuce and tomato's were fresh and the Cajun fries amazing. I had two picky eaters with me and they cleaned their trays. I would definitely absolutely recommend this place.

Tries the patty melt and the Charleston with sweet potato fries. Skip the sweet potato fries and go for one of their regular ones. The sauce is too sweet, thick and heavy. The Charleston really shone, patty melt just ok. Not a big fan of the Texas toast patty melt is on. It is counter service. We went around noon on Sunday and the line and wait for food was extensive. The restaurant was very cold and no one was cleaning table tops between parties. It is a very casual "lunch" type spot.
