A muther-grabbin' flavor avalanche... it'll hit you in places you didn't even know you had taste buds... basil pesto base, artichoke hearts, green olives, pineapple, Goat cheese, Feta cheese and fresh basil with banana peppers to bring it all together. We almost added sun-dried tomatoes, but we didn't want to short-circuit your system.
It's a fiesta in ya mouth. Butter, garlic, chunks of chorizo, roasted red peppers, fresh herbs, and white cheese sauce with "da shells".
"One Way": Ziti noodles, Parmesan cheese, fresh Ricotta, Mozzarella, herbs and spices. tossed in marinara and baked. "Da Utterway": Same deal in meat sauce.

Dude! Mac-n-cheese is the food of the gods! Cheese sauce, pasta shells, a layer of chopped bacon, topped with toasted seasoned bread crumbs.
Vegetarian. Affectionately known as "Big Uncle Al". He worked in a bank, like an accountant... or something, wore a bow tie. His recipe: Start with real butter, minced garlic, 40% heavy cream (the good stuff), white pepper seasoning, finish with Pecorino cheese. When it is perfectly fused we add the farfalle (bow-tie pasta) as a remembrance of Big Uncle Al. He's not dead. Livin' on an island got fired after the bank got robbed.
No story, giving it to you straight, huge strips of grilled chicken, sauteed mushrooms, Applewood Smoked bacon, garlic, and onions tossed in a creamy pesto sauce.
"Little bit of family drama"...1/2 the family calls it sauce, the other calls it gravy...so in an effort not to cut himself out of inheritances...we are going with gravy on this one. We start with a huge bowl with gravy (aka "the sauce") a twirled nest of al dente pasta placed in the center, one giant 3 meat, stuffed with cheese meatball, then more gravy on top, a lite sprinkle of Romano. Roll up your sleeves, tuck the napkin in your collar and go for it!
Vegetarian. Like the leaning tower of Pisa on our plate... We use fresh eggplant, pealed and sliced by hand, dusted with seasoned flour, dipped in our beer and egg wash, then deep-fried (no bread crumbs so you get the full flavor and taste of the eggplant). Bottom layer sauce, next eggplant, the Provolone, start over, then Mozzarella, repeat. till it's stacked, oh ya, more Mozzarella on the roof!
Not like you might be used to... hand-pounded meat, coated in our homemade seasoned bread crumbs, fried, covered with "The Sauce" and baked with melted Mozzarella, served with pasta.
Thin pasta sheets separated with creamy Bolognese sauce, Ricotta, Provolone, and Mozzarella, each layer seasoned, spiced, and sprinkled with Parm and Romano cheeses. We serve the huge creation, with extra Bolognese. Count em, 5 different cheeses!
In Rosetto sauce, chunks of lobster, it's pink, it's thick, it's spicy, oh baby!

I've ordered from this place twice on Uber eats and was not that impressed given the reputation. After hearing that I need to "dine in" multiple times to actually experience what Carmines Pie House is about, I did. I arrived about 6pm and it started getting busy real quick. Dive bar pizzeria feel and energetic staff. I ordered a plain cheese pie and waited.. the pizza was very droopy and needed to be held with both hands otherwise the cheese was going to slide off.. as for taste it was good, but not special by any means; it is better than fast food pizza.Third times not the charm I suppose.

Every neighborhood should have THE neighborhood restaurant that is the go-to whenever friends or family come over. That restaurant where you know everyone will be happy with and find something they like. I truly believe Carmine's is that restaurant for Riverside. Carmine's is a casual restaurant that features indoor and outdoor seating, has only the best beers on tap (last night they featured both Jai Alia and Cosmico), and makes peace with the fact that maybe NY and Chicago both have good pizza and subs. You don't have to argue, they're both featured here. The food is always solid, they have some really smart featured pizzas and sandwiches and they pass the meatball test which is vital. We have yet to eat in, but have always enjoyed the carry out. The staff is always attentive and friendly. Fairly happy with the service for carry out, but I've had intermittent issues with the orders being correct (mainly something not being included or ready) or having to wait longer than initially told. This is simply because Carmines is a victim of its own success at times and just gets an onslaught of business at any point in time. If you're in Riverside and looking for really solid, casual comfort Italian food. This is your place.

Stopped in for a late lunch after family pictures downtown. Limited parking in front but there's street parking in the area. Several outdoor tables with mix of booths and tables inside. We started with wings and garlic cheese bread which were both good. We got a Chicago deep dish and NY thin to share. Chicago style pizza is my favorite but this was just okay. The NY thin was very good. Service was quick and everyone was very friendly.

This was our first time trying Chicago style pizza, but it's easy to see how Carmine's is highly ranked in the country - this was delicious!! My husband and I were on vacation nearby and grabbed a quick pie while we were in the area for takeout, and we're so glad we made the stop. Next time we would love to dine in because it seemed to have a fun, electric vibe, and the desserts looked awesome. When we first opened our box we realized it hadn't been cut, so we went back in and they were super nice about doing that for us. I totally understand why they don't usually though so that the sauce and cheese doesn't spill out into the box, but we needed them to as we were planning to try a slice in the parking lot. We were obsessed with this pizza! Everything about it was delicious, from the sauce, to the mozzarella, and the crust. We're sad that we live in CT and that it could be a while before we're able to have it again!

I'm not hugely experienced with Chicago deep dish, but if this is any indicator, I've been missing out. Excellent pizza with a rich flavor. They don't skimp on the ingredients. We got a regular peperoni slice to go with it, and while it was decent, the deep dish is a must! The meatballs looked amazing too, but we were too full to even attempt to order anything else. Dinner for tomorrow! The place itself was quant and somewhat bar-like. There's a nice bakery assortment at the front of the store too, if you're somehow still hungry after this experience.

We dined in tonight waited at the bar for a table to be ready. The staff was kind and prompt. We ordered the wings with cajun ranch, a pepperoni pizza and a margherita pizza which all were hot and delicious. The atmosphere is fun and eclectic which is one of my favorite things about the experience.
