Caught this food truck at the NE Edible Florida's Wine and Trucks Festival recently. This food truck is an extension of the Caribbean Sunrise restaurant and bakery which has been operating within the family since 1996. I ordered their oxtail meal with rice & beans and plantains for $12. The oxtail was so delicious-- I could eat a whole pot of it! The meat was flavorful, juicy, and so tender that it fell right off the bone. Just writing this review makes me want to go to its restaurant and order me a pan! SO GOOD. The plantains were a bit of a let-down in that they were dry, but otherwise the meal was great! They're pretty quick getting people's orders out and I probably waited just over 5 minutes to get my food.

Great food. I found them about 12:45 and noticed the oxtails were erased off the board. I asked if they ran out and they were actually waiting for delivery from their restaurant. I prepaid so I could reserve my lunch but opted to have a beef patty for my appetizer. The beef patty was flavorful and a second one with a side would be a big lunch.I really liked my oxtails, rice and peas, as well as the cabbage. I did feel their could have been an extra oxtail or two for the portion size but regardless the food was very good. Their timing and location today made me change my lunch plans and I'm glad I did. I would definitely eat this truck again and should I find myself in their area, would stop in their restaurant.

Wow! Happy Friday! Very "Cool Runnings" to have the Caribbean Sunrise Food Truck as a lunch option! Shocked that there was no line queued up for this Jamaican Jerk fare but then again I may have missed the lunch rush - lucky me!When I saw oxtail as one of their entree selections, I was all over that choice...it became my one and only choice and fortunately, I was able to partake and they did not yet run out! Each meal comes with either an Oxtail or Jerk Chicken meat selection. In addition to rice and red beans, you can select cabbage or fried plantains. Happy to have the oxtail, rice and red beans and fried plantains lunch! The oxtail was close to fall off the bone tender with a very flavorful sauce; the rice and beans perfect consistency and loved the juicy ripe plantains that were perfectly caramelized!Highly recommend this food truck to satisfy your Caribbean "Cool Runnings" cravings - you won't be disappointed! It's delish!

I love finding great food. My favorite aspect of this truck is its full of foods that can be slow cooked, simmered, stewed, and served up quickly because it.When it comes to quick lunch breaks this truck is king. I really wanted a beef patty but they looked like they were big batch produced (not homecooked). Not sure if that's true or not but I passed anyway.Went with the curry chicken with rice and beans and cabbage. The curry thicken had large chunks of chicken, potato, and unfortunately, bones. Not in my serving. I had little bone and lots of chicken. My friend however had the opposite. I felt bad for her but mine was great this the four stars. I'll try them again because the flavors were gold, the service was quick, and the meal was very filling!

I decided to forego the blah salad I brought for lunch and try out Caribbean Sunrise, since they were at my workplace. Everything on the menu sounded so good! From the chicken roti to the oxtails and the curry chicken, I was torn. Based on past experiences from other food trucks in terms of waiting time from ordering to receiving the food, I decided to get the Jamaican beef patties, because I was unsure of how long it would take them to food prep and cook as I only had a half hour lunch (and figured I could eat with one hand while typing away on a keyboard). From ordering my patties to receiving them took less than five minutes. Someone else behind me ordered the wings and their order was almost ready when I was walking away. DANG!! Now I know when they're back at my workplace to order one of the entrees since they are pretty fast. The patties are very good. Temperature wise hot and crispy on the outside, the beef filling on the inside was delicious and had a good amount of spice to it. Don't let the look of the filling turn you away. One patty was filling enough for me, so I saved the other one for later as a snack. The prices are pretty good. The service received was very friendly. And they take credit cards! I'm looking forward to when they come back to my workplace, or wherever they are.

Our company recently moved to a new location where food trucks frequent, so I am getting to sample what Jacksonville FL food trucks have to offer and I must say Caribbean Sunrise food truck hit the spot today in a great way.First I must say service was crazy fast as the gentleman running the main window offered me a few choices which I am a big fan of Jerk chicken but I like curry a lot too which they had both. I chose the Jerk chicken with rice and beans (a type of pea he said) and cabbage with a bit of carrots. I then stepped to the next window paid a nice lady at another window. I know made to order is nice but the food was very fresh and I walked up, got my food, and paid in under 4 minutes! That was awesome as I didn't have time to waste. Now for the food - I've never had any Jamaican Jerk chicken that didn't light me up and I must say this didn't but wasn't lacking on flavor either. It had that expected heat from the spices but it just stayed at a nice medium burn which worked well as I'm at work and using beer to put out the flames wasn't an option. The rice and beans...filled the container with a good helping of cabbage and carrots on the side and 4 nice meaty chunks of chicken cooked with lots of sauce throughout every bite of chicken. I should have gotten the plantains but sadly I didn't notice those until after the sale but will make sure to get some next time.

I saw this truck was coming to the food court today. It's a new truck on only their second day out. Now I have eaten with them many times at their brick n mortar on Main st. downtown. Their food is pretty good from both places. The jerk chicken is coated with what I believe to be walker's Jerk rub then baked. The chicken is tender and has enough kick to hurt you if you let it. The rice n peas were also done well and had good flavors. I also had to get a beef patty otherwise known as Juicy Patties in Jamaica. They also can carry some heat if you like. The truck is brand new and needs the final touches. It is mainly a solid yellow color with a big space in the back for a grill or two. They could really use this place for the real Jamaican 55 gal drum cut open with a sawmill. Then crank up the coals with a little bit of pimento wood and you will have some fine as wine jerk meats. I can't wait to catch up to this truck again and maybe this time they will have some ox tail or curry goat.

I was so blessed to eat some Caribbean food from this gem. I actually got it from their storefront on Main Street. And I ate their jerk chicken, curry shrimp, rice and peas TWO days in a row truly worth the drive and money. My boyfriends dad is Bajan, and he loves this place. thanks to him I know where I'll be getting my Caribbean fix. FYI- any regular or jumbo size order of their entrees includes a side
