I had heard great things about this place and it lived up to the hype. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Place is spotless. We were greeted at the entrance by Robin. She is not the owner but her enthusiasm for the menu items and the restaurant is very evident. She explained the ordering process and gave some recommendations. The food came out quickly and she checked in on us several times. Quick comments on our order:Strawberry mimosa was so fruity and deliciousDuo dip and chips was the queso/guac combo which we both loved. We don't order a lot of queso because it isn't our favorite but this could convert me anytime.Squawk box taco was great, pepper jelly for the win.Corn salad was made with feta. I prefer cotija cheese. This was ok.Fire and Ice taco was straight up perfect. Great flavors. Great place!

Calico Cactus: Where Breakfast Tacos Steal the Show!If there's one thing better than tacos, it's breakfast tacos--and Calico Cactus in St. Augustine is serving them up with serious style. Located in the former Tijuana Flats spot on Ponce de Leon Blvd., this modern taco shop is all about fresh, scratch-made flavors in a laid-back, fast-casual setting. We stopped by for breakfast and dove straight into their "brekkie" tacos, paired with a Chai latte and fresh-brewed coffee. Let's just say, mornings are better with handmade tortillas wrapped around fluffy eggs, melted cheese, and savory fillings. Whether you go classic with potato, eggs, and Monterey Jack (the M.T.D.) or level up with barbacoa brisket in the Texas Hold 'Em, you can't go wrong. The house-made salsas add the perfect kick, and if you're a coffee lover, their full barista bar is a dream come true. From lattes to aguas frescas, there's a drink for everyone--even mimosas if you're feeling festive! With handmade tortillas, scratch-made sauces, and a chill atmosphere, Calico Cactus delivers the kind of food you'd proudly serve to family and friends. And that's exactly their mission. Can't wait to come back and try the lunch tacos next!

Had a fantastic breakfast at Calico Cactus A NEW Modern Taco Shop, at 833 S. Ponce de Leon Blvd. in St. AugustineThe brekkie tacos were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made with their scratch-made tortillas. The chai latte and coffee from their full barista-staffed coffee bar were just as amazing--smooth, rich, and the perfect start to the day. The staff was super friendly, and the service was impressively quick, even during the morning rush. A huge shout out to Colin, Celia and Amanda for taking such good care of us. The salsa station was a fun touch, letting us customize the heat to our taste. The cozy, modern vibe of the restaurant made the whole experience even better. If you're in St. Augustine, this spot is a must-try for delicious tacos and great service!

Late breakfast- really friendly staff. Like watching them hand make the flour tortillas. Their salsas are homemade and very tasty- be sure to try them. The Queso was good. Worth a try. Churro Bar is a must try. Their special taco is a megas taco very good. Yep add that to the menu!We also tried the Eggs On Your Face taco and the MTD. For a restaurant not in Texas everything was pretty good. Still feel the breakfast tacos in Austin TEXAS are better. Must be their Texas seasoning. Definitely a restaurant you should visit.

Stopped in for a few tacos at this new taco shop. The restaurant looks very nice and the staff is very friendly and hospitable. I ordered the squawk chicken taco and flame beef taco. They were just about to close so I ordered them to go. The food was ready quickly and even though I live 5 minutes away by the time I got home the food was barely warm and very soggy. The tacos did not look very good but were actually pretty tasty. The green sauce in the side was good. I found the tacos to be soggy with a mushy texture. Finished each taco in about 4 bites and I wished there was a bit more filling. $11 for two tacos that ate more like a snack than lunch. I will probably come back to try some breakfast tacos but 1st impression didn't knock my socks off.

We stopped in today for breakfast after noticing the sign yesterday at the old Tijuana Flats! Such a cool spot! We ordered 3 tacos, a churro bar and coffee. Everything was delicious! They make their flour tortillas in house, right in front of you! They have a cool variety of breakfast and lunch tacos, as well as coffees! They also have a yummy, self serve salsa area near the coffee area. The staff were all super friendly and welcoming! There were a couple hiccups with our order (which is almost expected with a brand new business) The woman greeting by the door, check on us and promptly fixed our order and gave a tasty treat as well! The decor and set up is very cool as well! We are excited to try the lunch tacos soon and see this becoming a regular spot! Check them out soon!

Went to the soft opening of Calico Cactus (a modern taco shop, open for breakfast and lunch) and was wowed by everything about the place. The food was amazing, (I highly recommend the Scrambled Egg on your Face taco and the queso) the staff were so kind, and the store was clean and had a nice modern vibe. It opens soon and I can't wait to go! I know it will succeed! Just what St. Augustine needs!

I don't often do reviews but I need to talk a bit about Calico Cactus. I'll admit, I'm very judgy when it comes to Mexican restaurants. My whole life I grew up eating Mexican food, lived on the Texas border and yes I'm part Mexican. There's a few things I take into consideration when proclaiming these so-called Mexican restaurants credible and they are by their tortillas and aguas frescas. Call me a taco snob, idc. Calico Cactus makes their flour tortillas in-house, you guys and they are de-li-cious. I had their Texas Hold'em barbacoa taco and their chorizo and egg Area 51 taco with a Lavender Latte and OMG they were amazing. Took a to-go order of another barbacoa taco (yes, I love barbacoa) w/ poblano peppers to wash down with their Watermelon agua fresca!! You, Calico Cactus, have made me a regular customer out of me. Btw, my husband and his colleagues had just been there earlier and sent me a text of approval. He loved their passion fruit agua fresca. We have a new go-to restaurant. I want to end this by adding how friendly their staff was. I was greeted by a very sweet lady whose name I didn't get. Sorry. Then I was approached by Amanda to check on my satisfaction. This establishment will have very satisfied employees. Thank you for chatting with me before heading to my doctors. I'll be looking forward to your seasonal aguas frescas *cough* cucumber water *cough* (I will buy it by the gallon btw)P.S. Their queso dip is superb! It has the perfect kick to it.
