"I had been preparing for my graduation trip out to LSU and wanted to get my nails done with more than just simple purple or yellow. Little did I know that the folks at Unique Nail Salon had a Baton Rouge connection as they have family out there. So when I selected yellow and purple polish, they asked why I chose LSU colors. I told them what I was thinking and showed them some designs, and they advised me that gel would be a better bet for what I wanted. Given that it was the Friday before Mother's Day, they were rather busy and I got passed between about 4 different people (3 who worked on the overall mani/pedi and one who did the tiger stripe design for me). This isn't a negative, as the employees were working hard to balance service for all of the customers in the shop. Each person conquered a different part of the mani/pedi and it was all seamless. I appreciate all the techs that worked with me that day, especially given my special request. The added effect of having my nails and toes done added a special touch to my graduation weekend of which I so appreciate!"

"I'm updating my review based on my experience today. On my next visit I had a much better experience. Had a very good massage and a strong attention to detail. I tried the jelly pedicure which is supposed to help exfoliate your feet. A powder was added to the water which made the water turn into a jelly-like substance which you soak your feet in. They then massage your feet and legs with the jelly. So it was different than anything I've had elsewhere.Prior review:The staff is friendly, and the salon is clean, but they do not give the best pedicure, as they rushed through, I think I was in the chair for 20 minutes. I've had better, so this would not be my first choice. The best part of getting a pedicure, besides having your nails look nice, is feeling pampered, and their treatment was lacking, no massage at all, very little scrubbing and sloughing, and not much cuticle trimming.They need to take an extra 20 minutes and provide more attention to detail."

"I made a last minute appointment to get SNS here and by time time I got there, they were completely busy. I didn't request anyone specific so I'd still have to wait. Mrs.Tanya approached me and asked me what I'd like to get. I told her and we went over to her station. She examined my nails and recommended that I get acrylic this time and then SNS down the road as my nails were really flimsy and needed to grow out some more. Acrylics are not my favorite but I decided to trust her. She ended up doing a beautiful job on my nails and was able to use the same color I had wanted in SNS. you can really tell she takes pride in her work.She asked if I wanted a pedicure and I didn't need one at the time but I did need my eyebrows done. Again, amazing job. I'm definitely going back to see her."

"If your looking for a place that is priced reasonably at $35.00 for a 50 minute massage you have found the right spot. No coupons or vouchers but a flat rate of $35 which is very appealing to those who are on a budget. I would like to commend Stephen for doing a great job. Typically I would get a female masseuse, however on the day we went all where booked. So glad they where. Stephen exhibited a professional demeanor, asking questions before my treatment , pin pointing certain areas that may need more attention then others, if I wanted the table heater on or off, and if the temperature in the room was comfortable. The massage was firm and he asked periodically if he needed to go softer or harder in touch. He valued my quite time and allowed me to relax without engaging in conversation during my massage , unlike some experiences I have encountered in the past at other places . The faculty was clean and professional. A simply welcoming station with seats and a couch. There where also some essential oils and products for sale in nicely organized showcases. The only thing from giving it a 5 was, I was not offered any oils ( peppermint, lilac, etc) to enhance my experience. Typically they will ask or apply some under your nose to breath in during the massage. See you back in 2 months!"

Her attention to detail is impeccable and I've never really felt comfortable getting my hair done outside of a blowout before her! "I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and chose this place due to the really good reviews it had and the proximity to the AirBnB I was staying at. The majority of the previous reviews are from prior management. Either way, I felt so welcome from the moment I stepped into the salon.Jackie was very sweet and did a nice manicure with a wonderful, long massage on my hands and arms. I almost fell asleep to be honest. To make matters worse (or better), she offered to do my eyebrows where honestly really almost fell asleep because I was lying down.While I was getting my manicure I had a nice chat with a gentleman who had also worked there and had lived in the Philippines. As a Filipino, I get REALLY excited when non-Filipinos go and always want to ask them about their experience so that was very enjoyable.I believe the owner's name was Kathy and she was so very kind and incredibly thankful that I had come in. I'm sure you all know how hard it can be to establish clientele for anything when you're the newbies in town so take my advice, go here, and leave happy."

"Hell naw - I have a gap tooth eyebrow! I've been wearing bangs too long and felt like I had my eyebrows growing crazy so I stopped in to get them cleaned up. Fairly slow day. Three techs there with two other customers. The one that didn't had anyone asked me what I wanted. I say eyebrows and take a seat. Maybe two minutes later a tech that was working on a customer's full set acrylic nails stops and comes over to me. I thought that was strange but maybe the other woman wasn't trained on eyebrows?I'm seated at a manicure station since the 2nd customer is laid down getting her eyebrows waxed in a small back room. Super strong stench of acrylic is hitting me hard. But I clearly tell the woman "can you just clean them up please? I do not like them thin." She smiles and nodes.Woman was sweet and nice but when she passed me the mirror to check myself out - left eye looked great - right eye is very thin and has a gap?!I'm going to have to remember 1st grade art to draw in some lines or find something on YouTube. I guess I'll be rocking a side part. Not coming back."

After 25 years of going to the same nail salon in Amelia Island it was tough to find one in Jacksonville that would work for me. I tried multiple ones here and found Anna and Ooh La La Nails last year and have been very happy. I love OPI polishes and don't want any other brand. I do hope they will continue to order the new colors as they become available. It is very important to me. I get the SNS dip and the Ooh La La pedicure at each visit. "I'm almost scared to review this place because it's pretty much a gem that I'm hooked on. I booked on a whim when momma was at the end of her rope and just needed to be rubbed down to dissipate the bad vibes. I almost booked through Groupon but I always do my homework and looked at their site. Honestly, I found their online booking to be just as reasonably priced through their website as it was through Groupon. So I end up having to take my 5 year old with me and they were very cool about letting him sit in the lobby with his iPad and earphones. But also telling him where he can find the restroom and me if he needs me. Luckily it wasn't an issue. The room was comfy and the therapist offered a table warmer if I was concerned I would be too cool. That's a nice touch! She asked about my concerns and areas that I might want special attention given to. And she actually listened. The hour flew by and I felt so refreshed. As an added bonus I took advantage of the massage membership they have and it will make sure I don't neglect my self care going forward AND will pay for itself in just 2 massages! So keep your eyes peeled for the promotions they run."

The experience was even better than I remembered. My therapist Margie was so polite and made me feel extremely at ease. She gave me clear instructions so I always understood what was happening and she checked in with me to make sure I was warm/comfortable etc. I'm a runner and my leg muscles are very tight, the hour massage she did alleviated almost all of my pain.
