"Visited on Aug 8th. The place looks like Long John Silvers but the food is far better and premises much cleaner. Wasn't expecting much but the quality and taste of all our food was superb! Wife and I had the shrimp nachos plus the grilled fresh fish basket. Great taste and excellent fries! Cilantro lime slaw had a light dressing, wonderful. Also must add that this is the only place where the cashier automatically set the tip to 0% on the pay screen. I tipped them in cash anyway for their service and friendly demeanor. After a table of people left, employees would immediately begin cleaning. Nice!A very pleasant visit!"

"I have nothing at all but the highest remarks when it comes to Matthews. We sat at the chefs table and had an amazing time. It was quite the experience. We watched the food being prepped. The cooks in the kitchen explained several of the dishes to us. We were treated to extra bites (sample tasting). The food was amazing. The portions were perfect for all the courses we received with our order. While this isn't your every night out spot as it is quite $$$. It's definitely a place to come celebrate a special night, spend a pretty penny, but leave happy and satisfied."

"Down and Dirty: Delicious food beautifully plated. Service was not the best. Drinks were tasty. Ambiance was chaotic. Food was very pricey. Probably won't go again. Made reservations for my 40th birthday with 8 of my closest friends. We drank and dined on delicious food/cocktails. Pricing was a bit ridiculous but knew that going in. Wouldn't come again unless it was for a really special occasion. Service was decent. Kendall was our server. As the "birthday girl" I was disappointed that I was the last person the waiter asked for food/drink order. He really didn't treat me like a special guest or make sure I was cared for like you'd expect from a pricing upscale establishment on your birthday. To top it off, I got no dessert for my birthday or even asking if I wanted to order dessert. Not impressed. Atmosphere was not great. We were sat in a room at the far back left and had i guess 3-4 other parties in there. It was so loud I could barely hear the conversation at my table. I had to yell to communicate. Not what you want at an upscale dinner for your 40th birthday."

"My husband and I went here for a dinner date with a Groupon I had purchased tonight (9/3). We showed up right at 6, and it was pretty empty. The floors and booths were all clean, and they had 3 different tv's playing different sports. The bartender was very nice- he took our orders and got us ice waters right away. I had the shrimp tacos, and my husband ordered the steak tips. My shrimp tacos were delicious! The taco shells were just flour tortillas that were cold/room-temp, but the shrimp had a caramelized kind-of crust and were sauteed with garlic butter. They were delicious! It came with pico de gailo, bang bang sauce, and sour cream. Really glad I ordered that bang bang sauce on the side, because it was waaaay too hot for my baby mouth. My husband said his steak was very tasty, but he missed the fact that it didn't have a grilled taste. The loaded mashed potatoes had crispy browned cheese on top, so my husband gave it two thumbs up. The bartender tonight was very quick with bringing us the check and was very nice! I wish I knew remembered his name, but I hope the owner sees this and gives him a pat on the back. Bathroom review: Clean, one-room bathroom. Plenty of toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.Hope to come here again soon! My husband wants to try their 1/3 lb. burgers. I think they would do better if they separated the nightclub more from their dining establishment."

"Wow, places like this are why I write reviews. I thought I'd hit every restaurant on this street, but some joints are just too good at hiding. I ordered the five wings with ten shrimp combo. Everything was relatively on-point. For the wings, I got the something special 45. It's actually just a breaded dry rub, but I really enjoy chicken like this, and they did it quite well. The shrimp were fat and savory. The fries are the thick, ribbed kind, which get screwed up a lot, but these were nice and crispy. Even the toast was great with its parmesan cheese and some secret sauce on top. The secret sauce seems to use a lot of honey, from what I can tell. Service was great too. Besides the food, the atmosphere of this place is interesting. It's a restaurant and lounge, so there's a room past the bar that's much larger than the restaurant section, complete with an area that looks like stage, sound equipment, music players, etc. At night, this morphs into a different business, and it's been suggested that someone like me would need a sponsor/escort if I came to check it out. ?????????"
