We arrived by bits and pieces, so our server came over each time to get drink orders. I had the skinny margarita and it was excellent. Once everyone had their drinks, our server disappeared for quite some time, and we finally had to ask someone else if they could take our order.Once the order was placed, food came out quickly. I went with my standard Mexican order of fajitas, trying the chicken since they didn't offer an all shrimp order. The portions were huge, and the fajitas were decent, but actually lacking flavor. We also had to wait for them to bring out the tortillas after everyone had their food.All in all a good experience, although I was disappointed they didn't do anything for my Mom's birthday."

And so looking at their menu, I decided to get their 3 tacos deal for $9, opting to get 2 Pupusas and 1 Steak Taco. It took awhile to get my food, because it was made to order. But it was well worth the wait. Folks, the food here is legit; authentic.What may seem small on the outside is big in the inside, big as in Big Taste. I am already planning to come back here to try one of their soups....well...amongst others. Additionally, they have outside seating, as well as a covered patio to accommodate seating.I'll be back."

"I'm going to start this review by saying this is the best food I've ever had in Jacksonville in almost 26 years.Also to be clear: we went during the Sunday Ceviche Brunch, so these items are not regularly available throughout their normal weekday/Saturday business.When my fiancé and our friend asked me to join them for a trip to Chancho King's ceviche brunch on Sundays, I had absolutely no idea what to expect. I hadn't looked up possible menu items ahead of time, since I'd heard that for the most part, every single Sunday Ceviche Brunch has a different menu of fresh ingredients, so I figured I'd be surprised and hope that this picky eater could find something a little more bland to choose from. I've never been more glad that I stepped out of my comfort zone of traditional americanized food to try this beautiful Ecuadorian cuisine and spin on classics.From the moment we walked in, we were greeted and had the offer of having the entire menu explained to us, or just the items we were interested in. Since we got there right as they opened and there wasn't a rush yet, we opted to hear about every unique dish, which just made my mouth water like crazy!It's a small area to sit in, so I recommend getting there early if you don't want to sit on a stool. We were able to get a table and the dishes just kept coming out! We opted to try a little of almost everything together. The lobster tiradito was incredible - almost like sashimi, it was poached lobster meat presented like a Michelin starred restaurant. Equally as outstanding were the grilled octopus and shrimp al ajillo. What blew me away were the beau soleis - I actually ordered a second plate of them since the melt-in-your-mouth texture and flavor were too fleeting for me! I could have had 6 plates of it and never gotten tired. The truffle risotto isn't something they would typically introduce - they told us they had a private party the night before and were able to serve this since they had extra ingredients (until it ran out). I implore them to think about adding it into rotation every now and then, because WOW! The flavor was bold but still complemented every other dish, and felt like something they would pair with the grilled octopus.If I had to be nitpicky, I might wish that rice was offered as a side if you order 2+ dishes off of the ceviche brunch menu, since a few of the dishes would be complemented extremely well with rice alongside it.I have never been more impressed with what looks like an unassuming local restaurant that started as a food truck. This is a must-visit for anyone looking for fresh, authentic food, especially from a local restaurant. Every person working there was incredibly kind and just as excited as we were for us to try the food. I cannot wait to come back, as I'm eager to see what they come up with next."

"We were car shopping and wanted something a little different! Los Andes was what we stumbled on and we were so delighted! Their menu is simple and doesn't overwhelm you with a million options. We have a family friend who is from Peru and has cooked some of the items that were on the menu before. I was so excited for the Lomo Soltado and my husband was super excited for the pesto that came with roast chicken. The owner was quick to greet us, seat us, and take our drink orders and then our food order. The food came out quickly. Lomo Soltado is a Peruvian steak stirfy over fresh cut potato fries served with white rice. Oh. My. Goodness was it delicious! My hisband loved the roasted chicken had flavor throughout and the pesto pasta was fantastic too. I couldn't recommend Los Andes enoug!"

I get the BBQ sauce on the side because I believe the sauce may dilute the smokey flavor of the pork. Plenty of food for what I paid. I eat half and eat the other half the next day for lunch. I save money and I don't overindulge. Win-win! 2) Grilled Chicken Stew with fried plantains. I don't want to describe it. It's that good!The mayo sauce that they include reminds me of the shrimp sauce served in Japanese / Chinese restaurants. It goes well with the tostones, but I also use it with the pulled pork. They complement each other."

"Thanks to FB events I saw El Taino was having a guest singer for Valentine's so I invited some friends and we joined for a early dinner. The singer had started so the restaurant had a energetic feeling already as I walked in.. The place was decorated all adorable for the occasion..red tablecloths and cute balloons. I ordered a chicken empanada and Sorullo de Maiz.. they are like corn fritters with cheese..sweet and perfectly cooked..my fav now..mmmm I had the Cubando sandwich which came with a nice side of crispy fries. The bread of the Cabano was melt in your mouth delicious.the sandwich was so big I took half home.El Taino has a Miami feel.Its full of family's, couples and friends. It felt more like I was at a party than just having dinner. The service was friendly and those around us also gracious. It's a fun spot and if you know me I like FUN!"

"Stopped in for a quick lunch. That was an excellent decision. Both my wife and us enjoy Cuban food. Here you can order off the menu or choose your food from a steam table up front. We chose braised Cuban pork, black beans and yellow rice. The plantains, roast chicken and white rice looked good as well. The pork was succulent and the rice and beans were excellent. The owners were pleasant and welcoming and the the decor was interesting with beautiful murals created by a friend of the owner. The portions were huge and filling and the flan desert was rated as outstanding by my lovely esposa. Besides, I just had to try another culture's take on Tacos. I had the chicken Tacos and I enjoyed them. There were lots of great flavors from the pickled onions peppers and cheese. The chicken was wrapped in the tortillas and covered in all the toppings. Give them a try if you're in the mood for something a little different from your regular tacos."

Ladies and gentleman, we come far and wide for this taco. It stands on its own so please do not ever think of removing this item or sadly we will no longer be able to dine at IOP or FI. "Heard great things about this restaurant during my last visit to Jax Beach and had to make it there for dinner one night! We didn't make reservations ahead of time, so when we arrived there was quite a long wait, however, we got lucky enough and found 3 open spots at the bar so we snagged those immediately! The bar offers full service so we were able to order drinks and food. The guacamole was so fresh and yummy, and the queso dip was also fantastic! Definitely not like your average queso and had a bit of a smoky flavor to it which I really enjoyed. For my main dish, I went with a couple of tacos and they were also absolutely delicious! The junkyard was probably my favorite with grilled chicken, roasted potato, queso sauce, shaved cabbage, charred corn salsa, and flaming iguana sauce, but the dirty south was also really great and consisted of fried green tomato, black eyed "peaco" de gallo, queso sauce, and baby arugula. I was also told to order the guava cheesecake from a friend/local, and I am SO glad I did because wow, it was phenomenal. I love anything with guava and knew it was going to be a hit. I am still dreaming of it today and hope to go back to Jax Beach in the near future!"

"Another great evening at Palermo's! I know, I sound like a broken record, but you all have to stop by and try the genius they are. I won't talk about my all time favorite stuffed chicken with the goat cheese (I have left many love letters on it here on Yelp) tonight's star for me was the skirt steak, it was perfectly tender, seasoned and divine! The chimichurri sauce was a perfect complement for it but honestly the skirt steak could be enjoyed on its own. My husband loved the Mediterranean fish of the day (mahi mahi) he stated it was excellent and he is a seafood snob, so that's high praise) if at this point with all my reviews I haven't convinced you about this specific restaurant.. well the saying "you can lead a horse to water but can't make it drink it" comes to mind. This place deserves more attention and recognition it's top tier in service and food and cleanliness.. if you are on the fence don't, just stop by, you won't be sorry! While you are there, say hello to Jeanette and Migdalia both sweethearts! Oh yeah, come hungry and if intrigued get the sampler as your appetizer. Ps: I think this would be a great spot for a date!"

The seasonings used on the chicken were very good. The spicy shrimp had just the right amount of heat. Served with a side salad and a large portion of yellow rice. Happy hour from 5-8pm. This leads me to my only disappointing time of the evening. The guys each ordered a beer. They wanted to order a second one before the happy hour ended but the bar tender avoided coming back until exactly 8pm."

Burgers came with lettuce, tomato, and onion. All food was well cooked and the cheese quesadilla had so much cheese, it was stretching across the box as you separated slices. The burgers are more of a smash burger style and the onion rings were well cooked. All food was well cooked and I got it after about 15 minutes. Wish I would have had a chance to order some other stuff, like a shrimp quesadilla or some of their tacos that looked amazing.Owners were really nice and even asked how I wanted the burgers cooked since I was ordering for my kids. Truck also has some of the menu listed in American Sign Language. Would definitely try them again. Recommend giving them a shot if they come to your place of work or if you are driving by and see them."

"This food truck came to my job a little while ago because our cafeteria is being renovated. I ordered the beef empanadas with a side of rice and beans. The empanadas were delicious. I'm from Miami, FL, where there are empanadas everywhere, so I have pretty high standards. These empanadas were pretty on par with the empanadas that we have in Miami. They're smaller in size, so if you're really hungry, maybe order more than 2 haha. The rice and beans were also really good. I grew up having rice and beans as a side, so having this meal definitely made me feel like I was having a meal back at home again. I definitely recommend trying this food truck -- you won't regret it!"
