Grand Opening today of Ebisu Life Store, on Friday the 13th of all days.Very clean (and bright) inside with a wide variety of great authentic stuff; all kinds of snacks and drinks. Wide variety of Asian Goods. You may get lost in translation as everything they sell is in Japanese. We ended picking some Ramen and some soups to go. And if you come here between 9/13 - 9/15, you will get a promotional treat(s).And don't worry, they are well staffed so service is served with a smile.ARIGATO Ebisu !!!"

MaryLou B. "I'm so glad to be able to find my favorite Korean ingredients. I went there just before closing so we did a quick run through the aisles at did an exciting shopping spree! We found soup spoons, shrimp chips, pickled radish, Korean red pepper powder, seaweed snacks, and Korean rice cakes... more good stuff to get later. Next trip will be just as fun! I think the fresh vegetables and refrigerator full of kimchi is plenty enough of a reason to make my basket full, so I will maybe just need to see if they have a shopping cart or something, especially to get rice!"

Jay P. "I have to admit, La Sabrosa was a place that I have passed by over and over. I had no idea they serve food. And now looking back, I think of how foolish I am for not even checking in to begin with. This is a prime example of not judging the book by its cover.La Sabrosa is a GroceryRant (part Grocery, part Restaurant), serving mainly Hispanic-Latino and Mexican food. And so looking at their menu, I decided to get their 3 tacos deal for $9, opting to get 2 Pupusas and 1 Steak Taco. It took awhile to get my food, because it was made to order. But it was well worth the wait. Folks, the food here is legit; authentic. What may seem small on the outside is big in the inside, big as in Big Taste. I am already planning to come back here to try one of their soups....well...amongst others. Additionally, they have outside seating, as well as a covered patio to accommodate seating.I'll be back."

Jay P. "Euro Select Market is relatively still new (opened in August 2024). While I have checked out many European stores in the Jacksonville area, nothing compares to this. This is a well organized and extremely clean store that carries pretty all sorts of European goods and groceries. Located in the Mandarin area of town.I myself, have to admit that I tend to gravitate towards European goods vs those of American goods, due to the due to stricter food regulations, a more emphasis on fresh, minimally processed ingredients, and less reliance on additives. All in all, healthier options and it shows. This store carries also an assortment of various Italian Coffee as well as other coffee blends that is not commonly found in Jax. Come see for yourself. And if you have any questions, just ask for Rachel or Sean (the owners) and great service you shall received. I will be back....#SupportLocal"

Angela D. "Romashka is a European market and deli that carries a great assortment of Eastern European goods. I stumbled upon it while at a different international store in the same plaza. Romashka has a great assortment of products from canned goods and jarred goods to dry pastas and grains and has a frozen section for yummy eats such as pelmeni and perogies. There is also an assortment of caviar and other goods. As you walk around the store there are plenty of specialty meats in the deli section such as bologna made with beef or veal, sausages, salami's, head cheese, as well as hot and cold smoked fish. The owner comes in early and makes fresh baked goods. The eclairs were good, the cheese Danish was absolutely amazing and the cherry Danish was wonderful. She also makes an assortment of breads, rolls and sweets such as napoleons and cakes. The store has a great selection of tea. I am a tea drinker and found a black currant hibiscus tea that I have never seen anywhere else, it is wonderful! There is a huge selection and if you like tea, you are bound to find something new and enjoyable. There is a massive selection of chocolates and candies. There are boxed candies, chocolate and candy bars and a wide variety of bulk candies for purchase. I am sure you can find something to satisfy any sweet tooth.Overall I had a nice time, we spent about a half hour exploring all of the goodies this deli and bakery has to offer. The proprietor was very nice and even provided some tips for preparing some items that I didn't know what I would do with. I really liked this store and will definitely return!"

I must say that I wished they chose a better name because many will dismiss it as a convenience store.Service is incredibly friendly and helpful. I found a great looking hot ajvar and can't wait to get home and try it.They have a small refrigerator filled with sausages and other meats. They also have a lot of candy and sweet type stuff.I definitely recommend here and give it five stars."

Dinosaur Asian Supermarket

David Wiles K. "Our new favorite. Coming from a larger international city with a huge selection of asian mega-grocery stores, we've been pretty disappointed by the options in this area. We've tried a couple of the local shops over the years and were mostly turned off. But recently, when we got a hankering for some homemade curries, marinades, stir fries, and such, we went on the hunt for something better and finally stumbled on Dinosaur. They aren't really "supermarket" huge, but far larger then the shops we've tried in the area. Plenty of shelf staples from a variety of cuisines, at decent prices. And a good selection of meats and produce that you won't find in the Winn-Dixies, Publixes, or Whole Foods in the area, and you can't simply order shipped from Amazon. As a "foody tourist" in a shop like this, I'm not entirely self sufficient. I can tell my galangal from my ginger, and my choy sum from my bok choy, but I still get lost trying to find or identify some things. The shopkeeper there keeps busy managing her store, and I don't expect her to play "tour guide," but she does try to be helpful and work past the language barrier when I come up with questions. The place is clean and pretty well organized considering the wide variety of foods and countries that are represented. A gold mine of exotic foods we can't find anywhere else."

Rebecca N. "I shopped in here one day, looking for some unique rices. The store was full of customers. They had one Cashier working and the line got long very fast. I needed to get going, check out and go meet a friend. Another employee noticed the line and they opened up and let me go first because I was the next one in line. I appreciated that. I am not real familiar with this type of store, but I will come back and try new and different things. Way to go! Great job."

European Mix Grocery Market

John M. "Overall, European Mix Grocery Market is a voolmplace located in a strip shopping plaza that has definitely seen better days. They have a good selection of grocery items that should appeal to looking for treats from Europe. The staff here was friendly enough and the market itself had a no-frills type atmosphere, but it was pleasant enough wandering through the aisles.I was also happy to see they carried products from Schmalz's, a New Jersey based sausage maker. Schmalz's makes a wonderful German style hot dog.I really am impressed with not only this European grocer, but the multiple European grocers located in Jacksonville, Florida. They have a strong emphasis on products from eastern Europe and offer a great variety of items that you will not find at your local Winn-Dixie, Publix, Walmart or other supermarkets.Overall, I will give here five stars overall and it definitely has my recommendation."

The grocery store is so clean and has a great assortment - spend some time in the store after you eat. The meat department gave us some made fresh daily chicharrones and they were great.Pros:* Great portion sizes* Great taste* Great variety on the menu* Fajitas - great portion size, fresh and taste was great* Burrito (steak) - excellent portion size, good taste and loved it smothered with quesoThe service was excellent. Everything was delivered to the table quickly.Looking forward to coming back and trying some more items on the menu. Birria is becoming more popular in the area and I've heard they have a good one."

They are very much open! It's on the way home from work so it's very convenient. I ordered a small cheese/pepperoni pizza to-go yesterday and it was delicious! The owner was very friendly! This business is a small Middle Eastern grocer and also has a kitchen. I would recommend to-go, there is only a small area to sit and eat. I'm anxious to try the Philly Cheese steak... that's next! I will become a loyal customer for sure, I like to support local businesses. Definitely give this place a try if you are in the area!"

Since I haven't traveled in awhile, this was the next best option. Quite a variety of food from fresh vegetables to frozen meats to fresh sweets. My husband found a jar of Lupi beans that he remembered from his childhood and I got some fresh nut pastries. The employee was so kind and offered for me to try one before I bought them. They are just some of the options but there are MORE! I only bought a piece of the Plomber Ice Cream as we are going to watch a movie. But we came back a week after to buy them. They also have freshly baked breads, wines, cakes, and other grocery items. As for the ice creams, ALL were good, but if I would pick a favorite, it would be the Ferrero Rocher and the Milka. I want to try their breads next time!"

Linda V. "Such an interesting grocery store! It is near Picasso's and it has lots of international food items, mainly mid-eastern. They have fresh baked goods such as pita, sesame bagel (huge), cookies and starting after Thanksgiving from Fri.-Sun. their grill section is suppose to start offering hot foods like shawarma (like a stuffed pita pocket). Thru out the store are imported items (canned, jarred and packages) you would be hard pressed to find else where! I have bought fresh spinach pies, dried spices, dried bulgar wheat (for tabouli), cookies here. English is spoken but you may need to slow it down..lol (not louder)! They have expanded into other shops that had closed so they be getting a following! It seems there are regulars who come and they speak their native language which is cool as far as I'm concerned!"

Edward A. "It's not the best location for me but even with such a small foot print, that have a lot to offer. A freezer section has Filipino ice cream and other treats to take home - both sweet and savory. A small grocery section has some staples of pancit noodles, snacks, and canned goods. I think the big draw here for the locals is the hot bar which has some favorites for those that are accustomed to the offerings as well as the adventurous who are not familiar with the fare. They even have a small bakery section which just adds to the appeal. My only critique is they have a sign advertising halo halo which is an ice treat consisting of shave ice, condensed milk, and various toppings including ube ice cream - but it appears they haven't really offered it as an option in quite some time."
