"This was my first time here and I am a local. I have been wanting to come in but the line is always very long. We came in on an off day for our city. My husband and I enjoy diner food and this was on the money. The cooks in the back worked really hard and the manager worked even harder to ensure food was expedited quickly. Everything we ordered was good and we finished our plates. The corned beef hash was finely chopped which for me was not the best way I like to have it. I prefer larger cubes but if you like this style it is for you. The resultant was clean and beautiful. I am a southerner and the biscuits were average in my opinion. They were large and buttery but it they were missing the lightly crispy outer layer that I enjoy. But I could tell there were many life long residents eating here and were very happy. If you love diners then this is your spot!Service was ok for sitting at the counter. Expected better. It was a bit slow -not the food just getting attention from the server when we needed her. She was personally a bit milk warm as well."
"This is one of my favorite places to grab a bite to eat when visiting my parents from out of town. First and foremost, the service is wonderful and I've never had a bad experience. Waitresses made sure drinks were full and that we were good multiple times throughout meals. Food is always a hit. I highly recommend the hamburger or the country fried steak. Though, it's worth mentioning, you can't go wrong. They have an awesome salad bar and soup option that is always fully stocked with excellent options that I've also gotten multiple times. If you want to have a great meal - sixth street is the place for you! Will continue to be a repeat customer."

"Good menu selection and nice ambiance. Service was a little slower than that of today's zip zip zip but thought it to be an added bonus not being rushed. The Big Fish Sandwich was gigantic and came with sides and the Smothered Chicken was delicious and came with a salad, soup, and fresh bread. The Fried Green Tomato was unique. The Buffalo Chicken strips were good also. The prices were excellent and we did not leave hungry or unsatisfied and would eat here again. We had to wait a few minutes to get seated but it was under 5 min and our food started arriving in a timely manner. The orders were correct and the food was hot when received."
"Worth the stop!! And come with an appetite! We dropped in here on our way through the state headed for Florida to get our southern grits fix and they did not disappoint! We also sampled the award winning chili and the homemade onion rings which I would highly recommend. There were so many things we wanted to try on the menu! And the atmosphere and service are just how a diner should be. They are also dog-friendly fyi."
"We were in town for a couple days around New Year's, and we went to the beach diner every morning for breakfast. Great food, great staff."
"Okaaaayy, first of all, that stuff on the menu is obviously facetious. Whether they're conservative or liberal, it says Bernie Sanders tried redistribute their property, but didn't know how to split the eggs. Rofl. The joint is kind of dirty, and people aren't as forgiving about that nowadays. I like the setting, but when I picked up my cup of coffee, the back of my hand brushed against some sticky syrup on the table. The area of the tablecloth near the napkins and other stuff is a slightly different color. The seats are dirty, the windows are dirty, and the floors are dirty. There was even a cigarette butt on the floor next to me when I first came in. I suspect the owner, to some extent, doesn't care or even feels nostalgia for the days when you could smoke in a grimy diner as you drop a coin into the jukebox. I care......only a little bit. I'm here for food, and the food was cheap, simple, but pretty good overall. My coffee was hot. I'd like it even darker and more bitter, but then other customers would complain I'm sure. The pancakes were large and fluffy. My eggs were how I ordered them. I'm always hoping for bigger sausage links, but these were fine. Bacon was fine too. Biscuits were also quite fluffy, and the gravy was warm and savory. The amount of saltiness was just right for me. I didn't have any real issues with the food. Based on that, it's very difficult for me to give this less than 4 stars."
"Hakan served us a fantastic breakfast! Service 10.food 10.portions10. Yes it's where the locals go!"
"This place is awesome. The inside is so nicely decorated and clean. Our waitress was Amber she was so helpful and friendly. We both really enjoyed our meals. I got the Greek omelette with hash browns and my husband got the country fried steak with home fries & toast. The menu had a large variety to choose from including lunch & dinner options. Fridays is prime rib I will be coming back for that for sure. It smells great inside and other customers food looked really good too as it went by. The bathrooms are clean if you follow my reviews you know how I feel about this. We will be back!"
"What a fine! We were in the area and stumbled across the Fox restaurant. Ian, the owner happened to be there, I get the feeling he is there every day, and was beyond friendly. Our server,Sarah, provided incredible insight into the menu items. She has worked there for eight years! The food here is some of the best food I have ever had at a breakfast restaurant in my life. You could eat the gravy straight out of the bowl with nothing else it is that good! The French toast is some of the best French toast I've ever had. All of their food is fantastic and you cannot go wrong. The Fox restaurant has a family atmosphere and an old-school diner vibe to it.We will definitely be going back many, many, many times!"
"Good food, great service! Can't beat the gravy and biscuits, even a half order is big. We always eat there when I come to town."
"This cute little place serves some great breakfast. We have been here several times since it changed from Lori's to Lil Bits an is it's just as good. The service is great and the food was very good. It came out fast and we were seated right away. We will definitely be back again. Highly recommend trying this place. Don't judge a book by its cover definitely go in and try it."
"This place is fabulous! I've been here three times now and had wonderful experiences each time!! The servers were all dressed up, very bubbly friendly & happy, and excellent at taking care of our needs! The food was phenomenal. I ordered the Crab and Shrimp Benedict with home fries. I love it so much, it's my usual now!! You get generous, hearty portions of crab meat. Good seasonings. Eggs were cooked perfect. Hollandaise sauce was creamy and succulent. The homefries are made with baby potatoes and so crisp and flavorful! The place has a beachy diner feel vibe. Cute decor, they even have a cool jukebox! And they decorate the place really darling for the holidays They have tables inside and outside. It really is altogether lovely. Go check it out!"

Had a late lunch with hubby after going to the lighthouse and winery. There were only a few customers in the diner when we got there around 2:30. Old time diner with a Greek flare. I had the Greek salad with chicken and hubby had the chicken souvlaki with Tzatziki. They said the Greek dressing was homemade but it was mostly oil and no seasonings. Maybe they forgot to stir it. Both meals were good seasoning on the chicken was good. They only offer beer, wine and Mimosa. We recommend checking it out They are only open for breakfast and lunch and close at 4:00.

Place was very busy but got seated right away. Service was fast. Couldn't believe some of the prices there. Very reasonable. My normal breakfast with a kielbasa sausage to change up thing. The waitress asked if I wanted my English muffin grilled. Grilled of course. Nice touch. Candyce had pancakes and eggs. Very good. Nice place with plenty to choose from for breakfast lunch or dinner. Will be back when in the area.

Traveling from NC to FL and wanted a sit down meal to give us a break from the car. I used Yelp and found this gem! Everything you read is spot on! We had the fried chicken and the chicken and dumplings - yum! Each meal came with 2 sides of your choice and 2 biscuits. Onion rings and sweet potato fries were crispy. Hubby got the mashed potatoes and corn nuggets. The serving size was generous and we had plenty to take with us for a snack later. And to top off the experience, the waitresses were delightful. Chatty and friendly, but efficient. They made great recommendations when we asked questions. Our glasses were kept full and they checked on us several times to see if we needed anything else. Take a break from I-95 and travel the 2 miles for a home cooked treat while traveling!

It's been awhile since I went out on a weekday for some brekky. I was dying for some French toast and this was a classically well done version. Nothing fancy, no fancy flavors. Just plain old French toast and I loved it. I also got some bacon, which again - classic diner bacon. Delish. Additionally, some home fries. These might have been the star of the breakfast. I think they were a little more like a hash - onions and all. The coffee was also good - and here is my only complain - a cup - not even a carafe at the table - was $3.75. Holy. Moly. (To be fair they may have included free refills - I didn't need that much coffee.)The service was absolutely wonderful! We did have a little trouble locating our waitress for the check at the end, but she was otherwise pretty present. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air before the day got too hot. Outdoor seating is great.Overall a great experience and I would definitely go back!

Went to Dano's Diner for brunch this morning. If you're looking for a no-frills breakfast that you don't feel like making yourself at home, then Dano's is the place. This is the Bowser Bowl. A simple waffle shaped bowl filled with three eggs cooked to your preference (I chose scrambled), and your choice of a variety of fillings. I went with a sausage patty and cheese.A solid 3-star.

This is just what you want in a laid back friendly neighborhood diner with awesome food and lots of menu items with very reasonable prices. The short stack of pancakes is a lot of food and I was hungry and still barely able to finish them. The bacon was hot and crispy and the cup of grits was the real stuff, not the fake instant grits. Coffee was hot and fresh and the waitress kept my cup constantly full even though I was there for awhile meeting up with some friends. They have a large lunch menu as well as all-day breakfast so I'd come here and try lunch sometime. They have more tables inside than you'd expect so we were able to get a table without a wait, though I'd imagine it's more crowded on the weekend.I enjoyed breakfast here and will be back here for sure when I'm in town.

"The sign says since 1932 - There are no frills. It's dated. It's old. It's nostalgic. It's probably not spic & span clean but it's doing what it does best - cooking up great hamburgers in a setting that spans generations.Personally I consider these types of places "bucket list" worthily - the staff upfront was energetic and friendly, I felt the kitchen lacked motivation although the food doesn't necessarily reflect this, but it does takes what seems like forever to deliver a couple of burgers and fries plus two onion rings. We grabbed a few stools at the counter (far end near the cash register) there was no waiting but lots of bumping and grinding as people formed a line to cash out or place takeout orders, hey it's a dining car so it's narrow and can be a little claustrophobic. The food - the burgers are old school they're hand formed and the patties are cooked to order so your burger will always be served hot from the grill and constructed with fresh ingredients (no complaints here I loved it) - the burger baskets are served with homemade fries and two premium onion rings, this seems to be the tradition here so it's not either / or you get both. The prices are still reasonable and it's likely this place will always be busy and you'll probably have plenty of time to enjoy one of their handmade shakes while waiting on your food to arrive so relax and take it all in - now that I've been here I have no doubt that I'll return when in the area, the bone-in fried pork chop sandwich is calling my name..."
"Went there and it was OK but not wow, they served a lot of food and the service was prompt with kind people..."
"Great little diner, I sat at the counter and thoroughly enjoyed a chicken fried steak, limas, and fried okra. I will certainly be back."
"Food absolutely delicious they grill the biscuits and have the best homemade sausage. Service was excellent."
"Husband and I stopped in for breakfast on a Sunday morning and was surprised on how little staff there was to accomodate almost a full house with a few bigger parties seated. Logistics seemed to be running smooth for how busy it looked. We walked in and it was a seat yourself welcome. We nestled into a booth and did a once over of the menu. Great value on the meals compared to most chain breakfast restaurants and I could say they didn't skim on any options you wanted. We ordered the typical staples, pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, side of biscuit and gravy, home fries and a few other sides. We came hungry and our little booth ran out of space for the plates. Overall enjoyed our dine in experience and will probably do another visit to try their lunch and dinner options. We saw fried fish and fried chicken dinners that were specials on the Weekly Specials Menu. Beats having fried grease and clean up at home!"
"Friends Cafe is a wonderful little eatery with a small town vibe and a wholesome feel. The staff is super-friendly and welcoming - although this was our first time in, we were treated like regulars during our visit. Come on in and seat yourself - don't be shy! Cristal was our server, and she was very friendly and talkative. We had some questions about the breakfast menu (which is quite extensive, by the way), and she was happy to answer them. Coffee and tea were in front of us very quickly after arriving, and our food only a few minutes later! Wow!The food was great, and our time spent here was very enjoyable. After our meal, we proceeded to the front and paid our bill - no fancy pay-at-the-table devices here!Very quaint, very charming - will be back!"
"Stopped in for breakfast while visiting. Large space inside, we were seated immediately. Started with some coffee while we looked over the menu. I went with the fried fish breakfast and added an egg. The fish for the day was mahi. The portion was large. I didn't finish my food. Everything was good though and service was great."
"The breakfast here was so good and the early bird special was so cheap! Our waiter was very attentive and friendly. The service was quick and I really loved my French toast."
"I was just looking for a breakfast place w turkey sausage. The food was great. Thank you."
"Amazing food- like sitting down in grandmas table for Sunday dinner. Home style cooking. They serve breakfast all day and always have a fresh selection of pie slices."
"Every trip I take to St. Augustine, I have to visit Sheila's. It's non-negotiable. I have not had a bad meal here yet - pancakes and quiche (they have different flavors depending on what they make that day) are my usual order, but the regular breakfasts and the burrito are also good. It's a small place, and you may have to wait outside for a table, but you won't be disappointed."
"Very busy Sunday- which isn't unusual for most breakfast spots. We managed to hit just before the rush- so we got a table right away. It took a few minutes before the server made it to us and by that point we were ready to order. The food- surely the hit of the show. John ordered an omelet and not only was it huge, it came with a healthy portion of homefries and a biscuit. Made for a very happy man meal. I ordered the Paradise Waffle- a massive waffle with fresh fruit! The menu said bananas and strawberries, but fresh blueberries were on it too and I loved it! The blueberries were HUGE! My waffle wasn't as hot as I would have liked- but John's omelet was steaming. The second half of the meal slowed- I never got a refill of hot water for my tea, actually didn't really even get a chance to stop our server and ask- they were crazy busy. It took some time to get our check and a box for my leftovers. The table next to us (who were there half the time as us) actually stood up and hovered waiting to ask for the check. I can't hold it against them- they were hustling, but go with expectations of a leisurely dining experience. If you are in a rush- this might not be the place for you. My boss frequents this place and said unless you order to-go, this is pretty standard."
"We were craving asian cuisine, but not the "run of the mill" takeout Chinese that's routinely available on Amelia Island. Having driven by Ahan a multitude of times, we decided to"what the heck" ... let's go for Thai. Having lived just outside of Philadelphia, I know great Thai cuisine, so I was prepared for a somewhat mediocre dining experience. I was very wrong; the food at Ahan Thai is the "real deal"! We started with the steamed pork dumplings; they were very similar to a traditional Chinese shu mai, but with no shrimp, and served with a very Thai-ish dipping sauce thickened with dark soy sauce. Our mains were Penang curry with chicken, and drunken noodles (again with chicken). Beware-portion sizes here are best described as "humongous" :-) The Penang curry was lightly scented with peanuts, with a fantastic assortment of veggies and a really good portion of chicken. The jasmine rice was served out of a very cute heart shaped mold; a nice touch. The dish was served "American mild". The drunken noodles (again, a large portion) were served "American spicy" which was about a 1.5 on the traditional Thai 1-5 spice scale. I like a bit more bite than that, and the spice tray was brought to the table with a smile. The noods were perfectly cooked, and, again, a solid portion of veggies and chicken were on the plate. We both took at least half of our entree portions home and enjoyed them for dinner the next night. Total bill for an app, 2 entries, and a big glass of Thai iced tea was $48. Highly recommended for an affordable and authentic Thai meal in Nassau County, FL!"
"8/24/24. Decided to stop in for lunch on an overcast day. I wanted, but did not need, a sandwich with fries so I ordered a shrimp and crab on mixed green salad. Server said real crab meat and there were 6 large shrimp! Very good, huge salad...I was satisfied. Hubby got a club sandwich with side of potato salad...looked and tasted good! Always good food here!"
"The food is outside and the service is top notch everyone is super attentive. Quaint atmosphere it wasn't too crowded but busy enough that we knew the food had to be well prepared. My wife and I both ordered and the portions were very filling so worth the price."
"I really liked Beach Diner. When I stepped in, I was immediately greeted. The interior and patio areas were spotlessly clean with a bright cutesy eye-pleasing décor. The atmosphere is super casual and laid back. You can't help but can't help but feel comfortable eating at Beach Diner.I had their egg Benedict which was perfectly prepared which was a steal at $8.48, while my Beloved enjoyed their "Eggs on the Bayou" with crabmeat and Hollandaise sauce.Everything was nicely prepared, and professionally served, and the coffee was of course bottomless."
"I'll be honest with you !!! This little hole in the wall had me scared the 1st time I tried it ... But don't let looks deceive you!! This place is really really Good home cooking, like Mom use to make !!! Every day they have a lunch special for $8.99 includes 2 sides and drink !!! Today was baked chicken and yellow rice, got Collard greens, and mashed potatoes and gravy... Spaghetti and meatballs is great, chicken and Dumplins... On and on and on ... They home cook everything, starting at 4:30 every am!!! Very good for breakfast also !!!!"
"Food was great! I love this restaurant's service and their vibe! It's super unique! I have been coming here for years and will continue to!"
"I frequent Gina's a lot because #1. I can literally walk there....but I don't. :) #2. The food is diverse enough that I can eat here every day. And #3. The food is consistently fresh and really delicious. I stand corrected, Gina's is actually named after the owner's oldest daughter (who does NOT work there), but instead I usually see the youngest daughter and the owner's only son helping out every single day. This is a true family-owned and operated restaurant that does breakfast and lunch until 4pm on weekdays and they are also open on Saturdays. Closed on Sundays.I regularly purchase the containers of the homemade coleslaw, hummus, chicken salad, egg salad, tuna salad, tabouleh, and potato salad they have available in their mini fridge near the cash register. They are all fantastic and super yummy! On occasion, I will get the stuffed grape leaves, homemade banana pudding, another tasty dessert like a slice of cake, or if I'm in the mood, a half bag of fresh pita bread. Perfect to snack on at home.I recommend any of the subs, sacks, burgers and salads. I really enjoy the grilled chicken salad and the Crinkle Fries, too. I usually do take out, but there are two rooms large enough to fit the breakfast and lunch crowds. Gina's Deli has been around for over 20 years now and I have been coming regularly to this location since 2013.It's definitely one of my favorites in Murray Hill and I do love the food, the prices & the awesome, friendly service!"
"My son suggested going to dinner at the pink flamingo yesterday. I was somewhat hesitant because I had heard a lot of bad things about this restaurant. I had heard that it used to be really good and then with the new owner it had gone downhill. But my son told me that some of the people that he works with had said that it seems to be improving. So we went! I have to say it's a really cute place, kind of like an old-fashioned Diner with 50s music playing. I think they have a bar outside but I didn't go out there, so I can't really comment on that. I did see a drink menu and it seems like an average price for a cocktail was around $10. Some of them sounded really good and maybe next time I go back I will try one. The hostess was very friendly as well as our waitress. I ordered a Philly cheese steak with fries, and my son ordered a cheeseburger with an egg on it, and cheese curds instead of french fries. The food came out pretty quick and we were not disappointed. The servings were very generous and I could only eat half of my Philly cheese steak, so I took that home with me. Everything was hot and fresh. Our waitress was attentive without hovering. I have to say that we will go again sometime soon, as we do live in High Springs. I was pleasantly surprised with our visit to the Pink Flamingo, maybe things really are getting better with them. Time will tell, right?"
"Walked in and everyone was very welcoming. Facility is clean and food was GREAT! Portions were good and not overwhelming. True diner tasting food with outstanding service."
"I've visited University Diner several times over the past 10 years or so, and it was always really good. Maybe it's just me, but it seems lately it's never open when I pass by. Or maybe I just get going too late on the weekends lol. But today, the Brunch Gods were smiling down upon us! My son and I were planning to go to the Waffle House, just because it's been forever...we found the one on Merrill Road packed...so headed to the Atlantic location only to find it was only doing take out. We did a quick check and saw that University Diner was indeed open-until 2 PM! Only 30 more minutes. So we headed over and sat down about 1:45. I was afraid we might get turned away, being so close to closing time, but there were a few other tables apparently just ordering, so lucky for us!Our server was very friendly and accommodating. The coffee tasted fresh & hot! So far, so good. I ordered the Skillet with scrambled eggs and country fried steak; I chose hash browns instead of country potatoes; grits, and a biscuit. The Skillet has plenty of onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese mixed in. My son opted for the Steak & Potatoes breakfast-country fried steak (whole) with country potatoes & onions, eggs over easy, and an English muffin. Before our order arrived, our server delivered the sad news that they only had brown gravy, they were out of white gravy :( Which I was disappointed, but arriving near closing, I wasn't surprised. However, my sons steak did somehow make it to the table covered in white gravy! While I got a bowl of brown on the side. No matter, my Skillet was still eggs-cellent! The only thing lacking is my grits was cold. I did bring it home ( along with a LOT of leftovers!)...so I will be enjoying my diner delight again tomorrow morning.Places that serve breakfast all day are my favorite and it's good to know that University Diner is right around the corner. My son and I both agreed everything was great, and we'd be back! You should go too."
"Friendly servers, classic breakfasts done right, reasonable prices, comfortable atmosphere. What you want for a great diner is here. Thank you, I'll be back. Wandered in from the GMC dealership while my car was getting repaired. Great find!"
