"I have dined at BB's periodically for over a decade. Although I have always enjoyed it, the food has been exceptional during my recent visits (all during lunch). The menu is vast, with both the brunch and main menus being available during weekend daytime hours. Lately I have been hooked on the fish and grits, which consists of the blackened catch of the day (most recently it was a delicious corvina) topped with a bacon marmalade (with legitimate chunks of bacon), cheese grits, and fried green tomatoes - this item is fantastic.BB's is no secret in Jacksonville but reservations are attainable - I would suggest calling even if no slots appear available online. The restaurant is clean, the atmosphere is vibrant, and the service is kind and patient. BB's is my go-to spot whenever I am in the area."

We even got lucky and came in on a weekend where they serve freshly made beignets, which is what we ordered, along with a cheesecake. "I liked this food truck. It is somewhat new on Beach Blvd, right after you get off the Commodore Point Expressway. The people were friendly and cheerful. I got the beef shawarma. It was tender and full of flavour. The wrap was soft and fluffy. The crispy pita chips were great by themselves and with the hummus and tabouleh. The kibbeh also had a nice balance of meat and spices. My kiddo even said the vegetarian items were "yummy".Like many of the food truck areas, parking and exiting can be a little tricky, but I think it's worth it."

"I stumbled upon this cute little coffee shop on my way to an estate sale. First rule about an state sale is finding a hidden gem among the masses. And boy is CFK is a hidden gem. It seems like a family run business and we were given some free treats while waiting in the drive through. The menu is pretty straightforward and I'm shocked at the wallet friendly prices. It is a no frill coffee shop with the essential basics. The coffee was warm like a hug and the banana bread was delicious. It's a drive through, quick and friendly. Can't wait to try it again!"

"My Husband and I worked with Diane for our Wedding, that took place in the fall of 2019. It was a different time, pre pandemic. She welcomed us to come in for a tasting on a Sunday afternoon in April (book ahead y'all). She had baked cupcake versions of all sorts of flavors and had fillings and frostings galore to pair with them. We pretty much decided in the car on the way home that we had found perfection. She created beautiful cakes for our day, meeting and then exceeding all expectations. She took inspiration photos from me and kept in close touch to make sure I was completely happy with the final look and design. We chose vanilla cake with Italian cream filling for the main star of the cake table, and a chocolate cake with hazelnut filling for the Grooms cake. On the day of our nuptials, we provided toppers and she took care of the rest! Our guests ate that delicious cake so fast, and raved about it afterwards. Diane took great care to explain the packaging of our top tier, and I will tell you that thawed out a year later it was still magnificent!!"

"Has she ever come here? You have to try the French silk pie, or the peanut butter pie. They're both amazing. The food here tastes homemade. Toasted cheese and tomato soup. For being a simple meal, it's different the soup it thicker and creamy great flavor. The toasted cheese is on a thicker homemade bread. I could order that every single time and be happy, It's so good. I did get meatloaf one day. I was very happy with that too."

"Stay far away from this store! I ordered a birthday cake, and it was my first order from this bakery. I only eat bakery items on special occasions, as I am a diabetic. This cake was for my niece's 30th birthday party. We picked up the cake on May 27th, 2024, and paid $50.00. I thought the price was high for a plain vanilla cake with buttercream icing and some strawberries on top, but figured it would be worth it from a bakery. But when we cut the cake at her party, it was truly awful! The cake was so dry and actually had a cornbread texture! And the icing was like paste and tasted terrible! Frankly, it ruined her party as no one could eat it. So, a few weeks later, I posted a review on Google with 2 stars and wrote that the cake was very pretty, but the taste did not match the appearance. The owner replied back, stating they wanted to make it right and for me to stop by and see Mark. I called and left a message on their cake order line that I would be in on Thursday, the 20th. So, on that day, I stopped by, and boy, was that a mistake! I introduced myself to Mark. He said yes, he remembered the review, and he did not get my message that I was coming. I said, "Is this a good time?" He then proceeded to look up a picture of the cake on his phone and said "oh you only paid 50.00 for this cake? I paid 20.00 alone in strawberries!" I was taken aback and said well that is what yall charged me and he said it should have been 100.00! I then nicely described what was wrong with the cake and how it ruined the party, and he says Well you want another cake? And i said no why would I want another bad cake, and that was for a birthday anyway, and I was diabetic, and he continued to argue with me and finally I said why did you say that you wanted to make this right and asked me to come in when you obviously don't want to? And he CONTINUED to argue, doubting my word, asking why i didnt try anything in the bakery before i ordered, asking why I took so long to post the review (it was from 5/27th. My husband was in the hospital and then I was ill so I posted the review on 6/15th, which was not even a month later), AND he continued to.complain about my paying "only" 50.00! Finally I said look I am not going to argue with you, I am the customer! You obviously are not willing to make this right, so I am leaving! He says well I offered you a coupon and.I said yes, and I told you I couldn't eat anything here, and also, I do not trust the quality. And he says well what do you want and I said I would accept a partial refund (25.00), and then he REALLY blew up and yelled, "You underpaid by 50.00 already! It should have been 100.00!" With that, I walked out. Please stay FAR away from this store and this angry, belligerent owner! He is also very dismissive and demeaning towards women!"

My original baker canceled five days before the baby shower I was throwing for my friend and Nicosia was able to take my order and have it ready by Thursday in just three days. Not only that, but the cookies were stunning! Everyone at the baby shower asked me who made them and everyone was impressed. My friend's husband is a pilot and Nicosia incorporated little planes on the cookies which made them even more special. I highly recommend her, look no further! "Such a beautiful little place! walked in and they were putting out super fresh garlic bread and a lady said she would give me a tour. She then explained all of the products and what was in them. The garlic bread is apparently filled with cheese and bacon and was amazing! There were two ladies eating inside and apparently they came all the way from Georgia for the bread. I got some nutella and gouda rolls and croissants as well. Prices are very reasonable and I will be back."

The customer service was great, we spoke broken Spanish and the staff spoke English well enough for us to get our order in correctly. We ordered tacos. The tortillas were perfect, the meats were seasoned great (carnitas & chicken) and the toppings were generous. They have a few salsas you can try depending on your spice sensitivity level. They offer their food to go or they have 2-3 picnic tables right outside the food truck where you can eat. Overall, we will be coming back!!! 8/10"

"I came in for breakfast on New Year's Eve as a treat. It was! The waitress Chloe was super attentive and brought hot coffee right away, then took the rest of my order. It took less than 15 minutes before she brought my breakfast which was delicious and perfectly made with over-easy eggs, creamy grits with a nice dollop of butter (I already mixed in before I took the pic), crisp bacon, and a grilled biscuit. All piping hot as was the coffee! The cafe has a lot of Hawthorne's history, adding to its ambience plenty of trains from the era when Hawthorne had her beginnings. I am wheelchair bound and found this restaurant to be accessible and the staff to be engaging rather than the way I am typically ignored or overlooked in most establishments. Thank you Chloe, I truly appreciated your kindness as well as your kindness to the child behind me! I am sure the family will remember you as well! Late into my meal my son asked me to order a waffle for him. I ordered a strawberry Belgian waffle combo. He like it so well he ate every bite of it: fresh macerated strawberries, Belgian waffle, crisped bacon, and scrambled eggs! It was all a wonderful treat! I would recommend and will be back!"

Well, that has changed.Hosted a Hospice Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon and The Cake Shop of San Jose made our cake. It was an absolutely gorgeous cake. A profusion of gorgeous lush flowers seemed to have bloomed right on top. I did not eat any of the cake at the event, as I get so stressed and nervous when I am an event coordinator, but a small sliver of cake managed to make it all the way home with me, and out of curiosity... I tried it. I was so sad I hadn't snatched a larger piece, because it was nirvana!The cake itself held a tender buttery crumb, and the fresh raspberry filling tasted like they had picked the berries that morning. Even the icing on top was good, light, sweet, and not cloying with vegetable shortening. In fact, I would venture to guess it was made with real butter. And since my super power is that I have more taste buds than the average bear.... I really believe it was. Exceptional turnaround time as I ordered it last minute, and great customer service!"

"This is the second time we have gone to Sugar Factory but this is the first time at this location. Our waitress was incredible and super friendly and you can tell she loves what she does. Today is my mom's birthday and they came out and did the song and ice cream that my mom picked out. I really wish there was a location closer to us so we can go a lot more often. The Cajun shrimp Alfredo was AMAZING!!! It had the right amount of seasoning and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that the portion isn't that big for a $30 meal. For my drink I had the Mai Tai goblet and it was sooo good, I want to try other flavors. My mom had the same Alfredo and I did and she loved hers. My youngest daughter had the waffle with whipped cream and strawberries which she really enjoyed. My oldest daughter had a cheeseburger with a side of fries and the burger must have been so good because it was gone in no time."
