"The service is awesome they welcome you at the door and are attentive. The food is flavorful and delicious. the staff is so attentive. Everything was so delicious."
"I was really excited to try out this place for a Cuban breakfast, but overall, it was just okay, left a bit to be desired. The food was on the dry side, especially the eggs and the bread, which really needed a bit more moisture or seasoning to stand out. The portion size was decent, and the presentation was nice, but I found myself wishing for a bit more flavor.Service was friendly and prompt, but unfortunately, the meal didn't quite hit the mark for me. Maybe I caught them on an off day, but I was expecting a bit more from a Cuban breakfast.Lastly, there was a Yelp check in promo where you get a free pastry with $15 spent. The lady told me they couldn't honor because I have to spend $15 or more. lol. Ok. I attached my receipt."

"Very good sandwiches if you like meat. My favorite is one called the Scarface (if they still have it) . Great place to go after a night at the clubs. Only complaint is that they got rid of the Ciders :("
"Best Dominican restaurant in Jacksonville, Florida! We selected stuff mofongo as an appetizer and eat one was stuffed with 3 different types of mean (chicken, steak and goat). My girlfriend and I ordered alcoholic tamarindo drinks. My main dish was fried pork chops, white rice, red beans and tostones! This restaurants gets a 5 star review from me!Our servers name was Hector and he was so attentive and polite!"
"Cute little cuban Cafe in the cut. It could easily be missed but is def worth the stop as the empanadas are to die for... they have a wide variety, including chicken, beef, and vegetable. They also serve a variety of coffee. Nice place to grab a snack before sight seeing."

We had their paella to go and it was fantastic. The sausage, shrimp, seafood and rice all had lots of flavor and the plantains on the side were delicious.

1928 Cuban Bistro is a small but apparently popular place to grab a meal. As the name would imply, the focus of the menu is Cuban inspired and they do a relatively good job in their culinary creations. Though they call themselves a bistro, I found it more to be a lunch counter type place. You go in, stand in line to place your order at the counter and find a seat. They call your name when your food is ready and you go up to the counter and grab it. Be advised that at least for my experience, the food was a bit slow coming out.The Cuban sandwich was pretty good, though it could have been on the sandwich press longer. The cheese wasn't even melted. They also used dijon mustard instead of the more traditional yellow mustard. I did not notice, but my business client noticed. He is a huge Cuban food fan.The papa rellena was good, but a bit smaller than what I have had in Muami.Overall, it was a good lunch. I will give it four stars.

A lunch favorite for my team. Big portions. Great prices. My favorite is the arroz con pollo. Oh and that fried chicken chicharonnes de pollo, so so good. The service is friendly and fast. It feels like eating at grandmas kitchen.Definitely worth a little drive off Roosevelt Blvd.

This has been our favorite Cuban spot for so many years! We have watched them grow from a little tiny space to a larger space with tables and a place to enjoy your drink/food of choice. Our favorites over the year have been their Ham Croquettes & Cafe Con Leche. Luv luv luv these two together when needing a mini snack! Yummy!!Today we enjoyed their Beef empanada and spinach & cheese. Beef was good - the beef has a taco meat taste. The spinach and cheese were REALLY tasty! Always great service! Love seeing this place grow! Def try them out'

Midnights and cafe con leches for us both during a quick lunch while out running errands. Quick service on a quiet Monday afternoon, sandwiches and coffee both hit the spot.

I stopped by here recently while out doing some errands. I had heard such raving reviews, and I love me an empanada. I can't say that the food was not tasty, but it had zero seasoning. The Yuca fries were so bland, and needed so much salt. Just a little while cooking would have made such a major difference.I did the picadillo cubano empanada, and same thing. I just felt the meat had no seasoning and very little flavor. It is such a cute little place, and the outdoor seating is so inviting.I'll have to go back and try it again. Maybe they were having a bit of an off day - everyone's allowed that, and I always try to give a spot at least three tries before I determine it's not worth going back. With all the positive reviews I have to believe mine was an odd day out.

"The food was fantastic! Soo good and healthy for you! I had the Bowl with black beans, yellow rice, a dollop of guac and Pico De guiyo. Sorry spelling for the Pico?!!Anyway the plaintans were excellent. Outstanding food assistance and the presentation was beautiful before I dove in. Took a good portion home for lunch tomorrow!! My friend had the rice, beans and the plaintans!!! So good! We were celebrating our b-days!! Can't wait to go back soon to Havana Jax!!!"
"Delicious Latin fusion eatery and a new favorite for lunch. Tried the turkey special, empanada and yuccone so far and everything is perfectly seasoned and delicious. Plus they make the bread on site. The outside seating is great for a larger party. Plus there is an outside bar. Don't miss this place."
"Stopped in for a quick lunch. That was an excellent decision. Both my wife and us enjoy Cuban food. Here you can order off the menu or choose your food from a steam table up front. We chose braised Cuban pork, black beans and yellow rice. The plantains, roast chicken and white rice looked good as well. The pork was succulent and the rice and beans were excellent. The owners were pleasant and welcoming and the the decor was interesting with beautiful murals created by a friend of the owner. The portions were huge and filling and the flan desert was rated as outstanding by my lovely esposa. "I learned to make flan in Veracruz but this was the best I've eaten."she commented. When visiting Palm Coast and craving great Cuban food try this place!!!"
"Absolutely the nicest people and the food was fantastic. We have been here for breakfast and lunch. Amazing! Beach views and great food!"
"We met my mother-in-law here for lunch at the new Fleming Island location. She has never been to 1928 Cuban Bistro. We told her she was in for a treat. Everything we had was very delicious! My mother-in-law said she can't wait to go back. The only negative was this cafe is so loud (music, other peoples conversations and employees talking with each other about orders)! Even when there weren't many people in there it was still noisy and we could hardly hear each other at the table. Overall we LOVE 1928 Cuban Bistro! Everything we have ever gotten was delicious. Service is always friendly. Cafe is always clean."
