I haven't had Cajun food in.....how long.....probably the last time I went to New Orleans!?!? Years ago!! So I was brought to this truck by the truck king himself Mark, to try it out! :) he never steers me wrong! We got a shrimp po boy, Cajun crawfish roll, and some beignets. What a treat!! The shrimp were nice big shrimp fried covered In a dill sauce, yum, tasted great. The Crawfish roll was actually my favorite, this was very similar to a lobster roll, but with crawfish in a mayo based sauce on a eggy kinda roll that was toasted on the outside. The crawfish had no tinge of funkiness, just fresh meat swimming in a nice slightly seasoned sauce. I could have eaten both easily! Lastly beignets! I rarely get to eat these, so I savored theses little fried pillows of yumminess!! You can pick a sauce to top them we got cinnamon roll, cinnamon and vanilla cream cheese sauces (?) yea you can't go wrong with fried dough! The people running this truck were wonderful, helpful and friendly! I would definitely eat here again next time I see them rolling by!

This is a food truck I've had my eyes on for a while now. (Have you seen it?! Awesome theme and paint job) To say the least I was excited recently to see it roll up on the Southbank in downtown Jax! To say the least I'm a big fan of bold, spicy flavors, and this restaurant on wheels delivers just that. I opted for the buttered crawfish dish ($12) which came exactly as advertised! Peeled and buttered crawfish tails served over a warm bed of white rice. There was a heaping pile of crawfish and in my opinion plenty for two people to share. I loved the subtle heat and spices that build as you work your way through the dish. The crawfish were tender and NOT over-cooked! There is no culinary sin greater than making rubberized shrimp, lobster and crawfish. The best part (of course) is the little bit of warm liquified butter that collects at the bottom of the dish with the rice. Yum. Enjoy that for some well-deserved peace in your life. I would certainly recommend asking for some hot sauce on the side in case you like it even a little spicier. Fear not, cash and credit cards (via Square) are accepted. I will certainly be back next time I see this flavor train roll into town!

This is a pretty new truck. From St. A but it is now based here in Jax. It's not your normal truck built out of a panel van or a oversized trailer. This one is a short bus. City bus that is. A real live short city bus from where I have no idea maybe here. Maybe not I'm not sure. The wrap on this thing is pretty sweet but I think they might have a problem getting a church or family gig. Ok I got to meet the folks of this cool truck and I got to learn the history of Brian the chef. Along with Ariel they make up the newest truck that I know of in Jax. They are going with a serious cajun theme with gumbos, Jambalaya, po-boys, even muffalettas. They even carry some mighty tasty desserts of banana foster and bread pudding. The only thing I didn't see was beignets and chicory coffee but they might have it shoved up in there somewhere. They do have a bunch of room up in this bus. Heck they even have an ice maker. Today I opted for a couple of bowls one of jambalaya and another of gumbo both of the seafood options. I'll start with the jambalaya was pretty spot on with all of the main parts. The gumbo in the other hand needed something just a little something. I mean it was tasty but it just lack a pinch of something I can't put my hands upon. Now I spent 3 years with a real cajun from the bayou of Louisiana. I mean hard to understand cajun. So I have eaten some real deal coon ass delights. Now this stuff is pretty tasty and I can't wait to eat some more. So if you are like me keep an eye out for them in your closest location and beat feet. I am

Had their Mufallata and Cajun slaw last night, really great and authentic. Real olive tempenade and the real large round bread used in NOLA. They had a lot of other great looking thing like po-boys. Give them a try!

Having just returned from a visit to Austin, TX, famous for its food trucks offering everything from palate-pleasing pierogis to creative cupcakes, I was eager to see whether northern Florida could measure up. BoneDaddy's Voodoo Cajun is a newcomer to the growing food truck scene in this area and offers a menu that seriously challenged my decision-making skills. There are several po' boy sandwiches including blackened fish, roast beef and shrimp, and the traditional muffaletta rounded out the sandwich choices. Entrees that require utensils include shrimp creole (spicy!), gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans and rice. Additional hot sauces are available if you prefer to customize your order. BoneDaddy's Voodoo Cajun's debut in my St. Augustine community did not disappoint (how do you say YUM in Cajun?). Despite some technical difficulties with the generator resulting in a slightly delayed start time, it was well worth the wait. Sandwiches were made to order with fresh ingredients and cooked entrees were served steaming hot. All portions were generous (in keeping with the Cajun customary "lagniappe") and served with a smile. If you can't travel to New Orleans but are craving authentic Cajun food, BoneDaddy's will "take you to the Big Easy" and make it easy on your wallet. And even if you can't possibly handle dessert, don't leave without a take-out container of bananas Foster bread pudding...you'll thank yourself later!
