Blu Diner

Pro: Great tasting soul food. I had the smothered pork chops, succotash, and the black-eyed peas. My wife had the Ox Tail, Yams, and the collards. Con: $6.50 for a 44 oz sweat tea.

The food is off the chain good. So many different wonderful main dishes with perfect seasoning.Today I had the beef stew with green beans and Mac n cheese. We actually ordered 4 different sides to try and all were delicious. They give large portions so if you are with a friend you could share a meal if you could agree on what to order. The staff are so patient while you go thru the line trying to make decisions.There is comfortable inside seating and it smells so wonderful like your grandmas house on a Sunday with all the fixings cooking.Run don't walk to this places. I'm so full and it was delicious

Meatballs, collards,yams all good tasting. Great choice of entrees. You name it, they have it.Relaxed atmosphere. Appears that there is a big demand for take-out. Pineapple lemonade terrific. Not too sweet.Quality food.Enjoyed this spot

Came here for lunch during my science monthly meeting. I got a veggie plate but my coworker got a turkey wing plate with mac and cheese and okra. The service was great and the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. It definitely has a soul food vibe and the food hits the spot. The yams are so good.

The soul food is authentic and its delicious. All of the vegetables are cooked to perfection. The meats are well seasoned and cooked with seasoning that will have your taste buds tantalizing and savoring for more. The taste is the most satisfying and delicious meal you will ever have I promise!!! Blu Diner delivers delicious meals that are incredibly tasty; almost like your grandma cooking.

I recently moved to the Northside and I've been looking for the good food. Blu Diner is exactly what I needed. Apparently this place has been around for decades and I can see why. First of all, if you don't know what you're looking for, you might drive right by it. But once you're there, you'll find a ride dining room, good air conditioning, and a cafeteria style setup. One of my pet peeves is food not being kept at the proper temperature. My food at Blu is always piping hot. My two favorite things are the curry turkey wing and their green beans, but you can't go wrong with anything on the line.

The service was definitely top tier, the turkey wings were just ok nothing special or memorable. Would eat here again, just different options next time.

Visited the Blu Diner on 06OCT24. It's been years (possibly 10) since I've visited this establishment. I must say, a totally new and welcoming environment. I ordered turkey wings (additional wing not pictured) yellow rice, greens, Mac and cheese. Meatloaf, (additional piece of meatloaf), yellow rice, cabbage and corn. I also ordered a side of dressing. All items were cooked and seasoned to perfection. The Mac and cheese stood out amongst all items. I was not a huge fan of the dressing. However, it was edible. Pineapple lemonade was on point! I arrived around 1 PM. Line was somewhat long. However, staff was accommodating and served rapidly with professionalism. Customers actually held up the line by being uncertain of orders and confusing staff. Blu Diner is highly recommended.

I ordered chitterlings and they were the real deal. I know because I clean and cook them.
