This place is definitely for all nature lovers and furry friends! My friend and I recently discovered a hidden gem - a dog-friendly trail offering paved and dirt paths for walkers and bikers alike. Lush Florida foliage surrounds the trail, creating a beautiful canopy of well-established magnolia, pine, and oak trees. It's like a secret oasis tucked between Fleming Island and Green Cove Springs, running parallel to 17/Roosevelt.Looking for a leisurely stroll under the shade or a more adventurous bike ride? This trail caters to all preferences. Restrooms and picnic tables are available for a relaxing pit stop, and ample parking ensures a stress-free start to your adventure. So, grab your water bottle, leash up your pup (if you have one!), hop on your mountain bike (or lace up your walking shoes!), and explore this hidden gem. It's the perfect spot for a refreshing dose of nature!

I had a great walking trail experience here for my first visit. This place offers a little of everything for all walk and riding skills from armature to professional. From young to old. I can see where riding through the woods is very exciting with different obstacles found along the paths.Trails are well marked with measures and difficulty and there are sections for persons of all abilities. Nice and wide, undulating, and mostly shaded it is perfect for family's with kids on bikes or scooters.Go for a walk and enjoy the peace and quiet combined with a beautiful water view on one end..

I haven't really ventured to Black Creek Park & Trail for the longest time until I heard of the insertion of a new MTB coursed trail that was added to that park a month back. So off I go, along with some other riders.Black Creek Park & Trail has ample parking space, a bathroom and one pavilion. What makes this park great is the combination of Paved Trails and MTB Trails, giving you the best of both worlds. This is well suited for those that likes to run, walk, hike, bike or just enjoy scenery and wildlife. Take nature in as you do so.Paved Trails:The paved trails are spacious, which runs North close to about a mile then leads off from the park and into the spacious sidewalk that runs parallel to US 17. Your other option (the shorter option) is to ride South of the paved trail down towards Black Creek, which is less the ¼ of a mile (a bench and the tranquil creek awaits you here; just be wary of alligators or snakes). MTB Trails:As mentioned, the chatter amongst the MTB'ing scene is what lead me to check this park out. Overall, this new trail spans about 2 miles into the woods. Mainly a green rated trail (easy: all flat). Some flowy sections. I have encountered some deers riding through here. All in all, don't let this park fool you. It may seem small from the outside, but it's really big once you have ventured it inside.

This trail system has two distinct parts for me: the mountain bike trails and the paved trail. At the trailhead, located near Black Creek, there is a dated bathroom facility and a covered pavilion that is home to a rather large cat family. He bathroom seems to be cleaned regularly. Bring bug spray! The mountain bike trails are rather new. There's about 2.5 miles of trails. It's enough to give you a short easy workout over a course with lots of roots. There are no special mtb features, so most riders here are in the beginner to intermediate range. Watch for hikers along the trails! The paved trail is 8 miles long and has a lot of canopied areas for shade for running, hiking or biking. It follows Hwy 17, so it's not as peaceful as I'd like. The trail is well maintained and there are markers along the way so you can gauge distance.

What's really awesome about this Trail is that it's goes from all the way from Orange Park all the way down to Green Cove Springs. At least you down to the original Park itself it's about 11 miles at least along this straightaway Trail which is helpful especially if you have little ones who like to try to go bicycle in the family. I run in the morning with my dog at 3 a.m. because she's pure black so due to that I get her out in the trail to walk or run but be able to get her fresh air which is very nice, she has had heat exhaustion due to the intense heat so in the am she is in a better way. I honestly have really ran into anybody who is hostel really ran into any homeless people once in a blue moon you might but usually they're just trying to sleep but the Clay County Sheriff's Office is pretty on top of homeless people soliciting so usually it's a very very safe Trail. I have come acrossed armadillos, Turtles ducks, cranes and once in awhile cats and squirrels for the Wildlife.

This trail is perfect. It runs north-south and parallel to US 17. It has a canoe/kayak drop at the south end of the trail and is paved, which is perfect for bicycles and strollers. There are benches and distance markers along the way. There is plenty of tree coverage for the first mile and then it opens up for lots of sunshine. The entrance is located at the south end of Fleming Island and includes a parking lot, restrooms, and a small pavilion. This trail is active, with plenty of runners, cyclists, leashed pets, and hikers. It is perfect for a morning run or an evening stroll.

I love the mountain bike and paved trail at this park. There are about 5 miles of MTB trails here now.
