Our "Wednesday Lunch Bunch" arrived at Barnhill's about one o'clock on a cold, but tolerable afternoon. They seated us immediately (squeezed us in) and were prompt with menus, utensils, etc. We had never been here before. I suggested the place to my group because of a write-up in the News-Journal.I thought they could have moved some more tables around, but we were surrounded and could not make it work until some folks left, so we forgot about it. Guys like to talk about what to eat. So we did. Got some beers, sodas and water in an efficient timely manner and finally we decided on ordering some food. One corned beef, four crab cakes and as many "smash burgers" as needed. All the food arrived at more or less the same time (considering a party of nine). It was hot in the hot places and fresh in the fresh places. Pretty darn good, I'd say. The fries could have been hotter, but since they were something between a chip and a fry, they passed. My "smash burger" was excellent. In fact NO ONE had anything bad to say about any of it.The owner, Professor Barnhill came over and talked for a good while and we enjoyed getting to know this former University Professor. (We have one of those in our group).I will go back for sure. Maybe check things out at a busier time, just to see...The only downside is parking. Well, it is Flagler Beach, enough said.

This was a first visit. It was a nice evening so we decided to sit rooftop. Nice ambiance and a slight ocean view as well as a view for sunset. Service was attentive. Food was exceptional. Had the Shrimp scampi crunch. My 3 other guests raved about their food as well-Rasta pasta/chilean sea bass/scallops. Will definitely return!

I truly enjoyed the experience. I sat at the bar so obviously I was greeted quickly and had a menu and a drink. The bartender Jonathan helped me to navigate menu choices. I ordered a crab cake sandwich and he recommended the chefs seasonal veggies as a side. The crab cake was all crab meat, insanely good and the veggies were perfect. I'm not afraid of seasoning and it was well done. The bartender had a command of the room and his station was clean. He had an air of tranquility and effortless you find in great staff at fine dining restaurants. I loved the service, the food and the vibe. Very happy.

Upper deck is beautiful and they are adding on more roof space. Met the owner, Ted, who is making this place into a Flagler Beach gem. Cant wait to go back for brunch.

Oof. What a miss.I came here with friends as a halfway point meeting and before we even came we called ahead and said we had two dogs and a party of 9. We made sure they could accommodate us and they said they could. It would be outdoor seating and we said that was fine. I have sat at plenty of places with outdoor seating. When we arrived the table they had for us was COMPLETELY IN THE SUN. There was not a speck of shade for us and our family. It was blazing hot and we kept trying to take turns standing in the shade to get breaks. This wouldn't have been too bad if it hadn't taken AN HOUR for us to get our food. We actually all ended up sunburnt from this. At one point the owner did come over and offer cookies to our kids to make up for it... but those quickly melted too.Once the food arrived it was fine... except one order. We had a kid order the yogurt parfait and in it you can choose various fruits. He chose banana and strawberries and we were then informed they were out of strawberries so they gave us blueberries in a little bowl instead. If you know kids... that isn't going to work. When we looked at the blueberries they were molded :(All in all... a super disappointment. Will not return. Not sure if this restaurant will make it if they don't figure things out fast.

I've been to Barnhills twice before for breakfast and lunch, but not dinner. We decided to go to dinner here tonight and so glad we did! Food was so fresh, tasty and presentation topped off our dining experience this evening. Don't forget Barnhill's for dinner, as you'll be grateful you didn't!

Good restaurant in the heart of Flagler Beach. Looks smaller than it is! Seating is on the second and 3rd floor, they offer inside and outside (covered and uncovered) but note that outdoor seating is mostly 2 person. Indoor seating is ample with many 4 tops. There is a wheelchair lift for those in need. We visited during brunch hours. They have baristas and a cafe' making lattes, cappuccinos, fancy teas and more as well as fresh made muffins, croissants, and cookies. Parking is a challenge but be patient and know you will have to drive around just a bit to locate a spot. They are currently in their soft opening but I will say service was good, food came out pretty fast, my husband said he would come back daily for the crab benedict (it was that good)! Next visit I will ask to be seated at a table in the bar area (more light for indoor seating). The 3rd floor is a definite MUST for future date nights - the view is GREAT!

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Barnhill's. We felt welcomed from the moment we entered the restaurant. Our dinner was wonderful. We shared the corn croquettes, and had the chicken salad and Chili crunch shrimp scampi. Delicious flavors all around! Jennifer was our server, she was fantastic. Such a warm, people person, an asset to any restaurant. Will definitely be back!

Nice cozy place with casual atmosphere and full bar. Good service with attentive staff. Food was very good with large portions, which makes it a good value. Large covered deck on second level with ample seating. It's next to the new hotel so likely to become very busy. Ps. Extra parking a couple blocks down 2nd street.
