Annie Ru's Carryout and Catering

I love Annie Ru's. It's my go-to place when I want southern cooking that's close to home. The food has the taste and seasoning. I don't mind the drive.

Walking into Annie Ru's felt like walking into the church banquet room after Sunday service. Food is served cafeteria style. There's a decent amount of space for dine-in, but I decided to take my plate to-go. It wasn't super busy and the line moved well when I went. Staff were friendly and happy to answer questions. I ordered the fried chicken, the collards, and the mac and cheese, with a side of fried fish. All of the food was delicious! It also came with cornbread which was great. I was impressed with the portion sizes and the fact that it came with a bed of yellow rice and gravy! And yes, the gravy was good! Definitely looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu.

One of us had fried chicken, seafood stuffing, and green beans, and the other one of us had fried chicken, mac and cheese, and rice. The staff was very friendly and the food tasted great - especially the moist and crisy chicken. The ambiance is basic, but adequate for a simple straightforward meal. I had one of their punches, but it was very sweet, and I'm not a fan of sweets in general so that was my bad. We'll return.

I give it a 4 because the banana pudding was terrible and the staff bragged it was the best. There was like mostly wafers and the bananas were not over ripe plus no cool whip on top Plus the pudding never sat up and it tasted like there was a smoky flavor that was not good. The baked chicken was heavy on black pepper which was great, collards great, Mac and cheese a little on the oily side, black eyed peas great. Corn bread divine. Great prices and quick service cafeteria style.

Soul food at its finest! They also try to bust the bottom out of your plate. One of Jacksonville's best kept secrets for soul food or country cooking.

The customer service is always great every time I go in there on my lunch break the best soul food and fried chicken you'll ever have it's always hot and made to order they greet you with a warm welcome and make you feel like a valued customer I could not post a pic because I ate the food too fast but next time I most definitely will because I highly recommend it so please give it a try share your thoughts .

I love this place! This is the second time I've been and it's been amazing both times!! Last time I got baked chicken and smothered chicken with greens and Mac and cheese and mmm.... So good!!! This time I got the chicken drumette dinner with Mac and cheese and black eyed pees.... Let's just say it didn't leave the parking lot it was so good!!! I got the lemon pound cake last time and it was so good I got it again this time!!! I also got a side of yams... so good!!! All the dinners are served with rice I'm pretty sure, I got ox tail gravy on mine because it's there special on Thursdays and babyyyyy let me tell y'all.... God himself blessed the hands that prepared this food!

Desserts are delicious. The food is hit or miss, sometimes it's seasoned to perfection and other times it's too salty, no consistency. But the desserts never disappoints. My favorite is the peach cobbler. You get a hearty portion size with a thick crust. The key lime pound cake is moist and delicious. The red velvet cake is a perfect blend of cocoa without being overbearing.

Very impressive. Food was in sustainable packaging, tasty, not over seasoned or overcooked, and impressive portions. Florida here even if you have to wait for up to an hour for delivery. I ordered at 11:19 and the driver was already picking it up by 12:15. I ordered the two piece whitefish combo and a couple spaghetti. The spaghetti was lukewarm but that was okay because I can eat that later. The​

Food was good but the Second Lady after the white girl is extremely rude. They didn't put the sides in correct plates. She just has a very nasty attitude and it's not my fault she' has to be there she needs to be in the kitchen not serving guest. I don't recommend coming here.
