An hour after I arrived at Anejo dense fog was everywhere like London in an old movie. They have outdoor seating that was bare of guests. We both had the tortilla soup which was very good. Mine without cheese and his with lots of cheese. It was like the tortilla soup I made with a kit from HEB in Austin. I just never added rice. He also ordered the pork belly. I had the street corn but dusted off most of the cheese and took two lactose pills just in case. The wait said many order the corn cut from the cob but what fun is that? Would someone cut your corn off the cob in the street? Beautiful restaurant with mid century modern decor, emerald booths, brown 70s style vinyl chairs, pretty pendants everywhere and art.

Pros and cons here... I'll start with dessert because that was the best part for us. They have a churro cake with vanilla ice cream. It was so flavorful and delicious! They serve the cake warm and though the presentation is a bit..... Interesting (see my photo for a giggle) it was the best thing we ate here. Came in at a weird time between lunch & dinner so it wasn't busy. We were seated quickly in a booth. The waitress came regularly but was not friendly at all. So service was just okay. First you get chips & salsa and when I say this is the mildest salsa I've ever tasted in my LIFE. It's basically just tomato sauce. We were hungry so we ate some but it was so bland & had zero to no flavor. I ordered the birria burrito and it's probably the biggest burrito I've ever seen. Enough for two meals which was awesome but again the flavor was just lacking somewhat. The birria itself did have decent flavor but again just so mild. Covered in queso which I like normally but you could barely taste it. My husband got a chimichanga which was a lot smaller, he also said the meat was the most flavorful part of the meal.So overall... This was just a mediocre Tex Mex chain imo. Lots of tvs so if you want to watch football, this place is for you.

We live near this area and decided to finally try Anejo Cocina Restaurant. The interior is pretty nice, reminds me of another Mexican Restaurant. We were greeted warmly and seated right away.I appreciate that they provided us with complementary chips and salsa. We ordered the following:Chicken Wings - nice flavor of the buffalo sauce but it was not crispy as we requested .Pollo Loco - the chicken breast was nicely flavored and juicy. Love the veggies on the side and the grilled onions on top of the chicken! Birria Quesadillas- Tasty shredded beef. Would've enjoyed it more if it was crispy. Service was slow, our server never came back to check on us after we received our food. Waited too long also to get our bill. Not sure if we will come back.

Sorry no pics forgot my phone. Location in a strip mall near interstate 95 & golf village. This location was better than the one in Nocatee. The acoustics were better and you can have a conversation with out speaking overI had carnitas soft tacos. The meat was tender and tasty. My dish came with 3 tacos beans and rice. It was enough for two.)

Great food and great service. I had nachos , chicken wings, and fajitas. It was all delicious and i can be very particular. The restaurant is new and the environment is clean with great ambiance. Lots of customers steadily entering the place throughout our stay. Lastly, we were there during "Happy Hour" and the margaritas were fabulous!

I have eaten here a few times, every time is great. The most recent time I tried the pizza, it was HUGE. Their margaritas are good, but I have had some that were just ok. Service is always great. Tasty salsa. The decor is Instagram worthy. Love the stand alone chairs.

I've been holding off on writing anything for this local chain establishment but it's finally time. Anejo has been solid through and through. The staff at the St John's location really make you feel at home. All of my dining experiences have been from bar service so take that with a grain of salt. The food here overall, is quite good. It's pricey. But everything in this area is pricey. It's a great value if you're looking for some fantastic Cancun shrimp tacos or a massive steak burrito (enough for two portions). Their shrimp diabla plate is excellent and be sure to order a side of tortillas to go along with it. Their diabla sauce is house made and incredibly spicy and flavorful, if you're a spice head. There just seems to be a minor fruit fly issue near the bar and hopefully that is remedied. Overall a solid spot to grab a drink and some fine dinner.

We have NEVER had a bad meal at Anejo Cocina in any location. The margaritas and palomas are always top notch. I especially love the paloma with the tajin rim - such a special touch. The house chips and salsa are great, but do ask for the house hot sauce (from the back). It's flavorful and goes well on everything. My staple meal is the birria quesadilla. It's THICK with lots of delicious meat and cheese. the tortillas are soaked in that yummy consumme and more is served on the side. The meal comes with some of the best rice I've had in a Mexican restaurant, pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream.Prices are a little higher than your regular Mexican place, but the vibes are perfect, decor is really pretty and every location I have visited is spotless.

This was our third time visiting this location. Our previous visits were fantastic and we were all pleased with everything. However, our visit yesterday was a complete 180. When we arrived at our reservation time, we were seated right away and our server came to take our drink order. From there, it was not up to par. While we do not like our food to be rushed, it took an inordinately long amount of time to get our appetizers. From there, it took even longer for our food to come out. Requests for water or other beverages/refills were forgotten or took forever to arrive. One of us had the Fajitas (for comparison to other Mexican inspired restaurants) and they were left wanting. The meat was overcooked and not very flavorful. When this was mentioned, it was just met with, I'm sorry. Then came dessert...sort of. One order was for Churros, which is supposed to come with a Chocolate sauce and another was for the special, which was some type of Dulce de Leche dish. Two of the desserts were delivered and the other not. The server told the person who ordered the special that they were working on it. In the meantime, the Churros did not come with any sauce. Finally, the server came back and told our friend that they were out of the special because someone came and took the one meant for our table and gave it to someone else. Disappointed, our friend decided to see if she wanted something else. A that time, I mentioned the lack of Chocolate sauce to which our serve replied, "oh, we're out of that". Okaaay...Then our friend requested the Tres Leche dessert on the menu and was told they were out of it. She then asked for cheesecake and was told they were out of it. Then ordered a chocolate flan and was told they were out of it, at which time our fried gave up. To add insult to injury, the Churros were hard as rocks, and the Sopa Pilas another ordered were also hard as rocks. We were once again told, sorry. Now, it's not the server's fault if the restaurant is out of something, but it's their responsibility to tell the guests what they do and do not have so decisions can be made accordingly. In this case, we should have been told what they were out of, which would have been far easier than the pin the tail on the donkey game we ultimately ended up playing. Took forever to get the check as well. Efforts to flag down a manager were unsuccessful. Debating on whether or not we will go back, but would hate to miss out on the usually great food. We'll see.
