What an absolutely stunning location. From white sand beaches to fine dining restaurants and privately owned rental condos. I was here with 100 other employees from my company celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The entire plantation was our playground - I tried different restaurants, pools, beach areas, shops, golf cart rental, etc. The plantation is massive and quite accommodating for a massive group like ours. The employees of the Omni and all related businesses really treated us as valued guests. I had a very enjoyable and memorable trip. My condo was in Ship Watch - the bedroom I chose was animal themed with a large bathroom. It was comfortable and lovely. Would definitely return here if given the opportunity!

Amelia Island Plantation is a 1,350-acre Florida beach resort. My husband and I stayed here in early December and the weather was surprisingly nice, although not nice enough to swim in the water. The area is very remote and quiet. At the resort there are acres of villas, a 3.5 mile strip of private beach and they are completing a second hotel by the end of 2012. The resort does offer a shuttle service so it is easy to get around the resort without jumping into your car.The resort provides many amenities including a spa, gym, hotel pool, restaurants, tennis courts, golf, a few shops. I used the spa during our visit and was disappointed at the lack of amenities at the spa. I was expecting to spend several hours at the spa, but there was no jacuzzi hot tub, steam room or dry sauna so once my spa service was finished I just showered and left. The spa should reduce their prices if they are not going to provide any of these typical spa amenities. I also worked out at the resort's fitness center during my stay. The gym was small, but had a decent selection of weight machines and the cardio equipment included built in tv sets. The locker room amenities were pretty much nonexistent so I ended up not showering in the locker room and took the shuttle back to my room so I could shower there instead.Overall, we had a nice and relaxing vacation and enjoyed being lazy and getting room service, but the area was just a little too quiet for my taste. I would only consider returning to the Amelia Island Plantation if they update and remodel the facilities on-site.

We had a fantastic place to stay! Everyone is very kind, especially the front desk attendant. He was so incredibly helpful and genuinely kind. He showed us places we should go, and events to attend, along with other things to experience on our stay. The entire room was gorgeous, and we saw everything from the balcony, including a couple of coyotes running through the dunes! The pools were perfect. The beach was fantastic, they were not crowd. . . just a relaxing atmosphere. Great stay, will definitely come back again.

Review is for the Beach Walker Villas-The Plantation resort area is gorgeous with the Omni resort, many tremendously breathtaking private rental home properties, and these condos. The condos are owned by individuals who rent them out and are managed by Destinations Management services. We rented numerous properties on the island for a large family wedding. Our stay was fantastic in condo 1108. The units are basic, nice, older, and probably the most economical place to stay on the island. The unit we stayed in was a four level, three bedroom Condo with three varied bed style rooms. Nice for a larger group or family. They do have on the property all different types of bedroom styles according to their literature. They have single units, two bedroom units, and I believe they mentioned perhaps a larger 4 bedroom unit too. Call and check it out to verify. The unit we stayed in had 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms were on the third level of the condo and the fourth level of the condo had this gorgeous, ocean view King suite. The third level has one Queen room, one room with two single beds in it. There are bathrooms right outside of each room but not all units have those two bathrooms right there. In our unit you go up one more level and there is the gorgeous top suit. The top floor is a King room with bathroom right inside that room with a wall to wall glass window overlooking the ocean. The other unit we rented had shutters, not the window and only one hall bathroom to share between the two bedrooms. So how are they set up? You first walk into the small entry, which is basically just storage, and a laundry room. The closet has things you can use on the beach. The laundry room is stocked with supplies. Up one level to the kitchen, living room/dining and outside balcony access. You then go up one more to the 2 bedrooms and bathrooms. Finally you go up one more to the suite. I was annoyed that my dad called, "Dibbs" on that room right away. Hahaha! The property is right on the beach with a beautiful view, a nice pool, and a wooden boardwalk leading to the ocean. Amelia has one of the best beaches in America. There was construction going on when we were there in Oct 2017. Hurricane damage repair I am betting. It was noisy and an eye sore but what do you do? They did stop at a reasonable hour and were friendly. Things to note- *The unit is all stairs. Please prepare for this if you have handicapped guests or those who find narrow stairs challenging. Also, there is no bathroom until level three. * Bring toiletries and coffee. The unit does have dishes, coffee maker, towels, hair dryers, beach supplies but no shampoo, toothpaste, coffee etc. * The unit we were in was so lovely! However to help others and to be totally transparent if does need some upgrades or repairs. We did not care at all but others might. A closet door fell off the hinges and fell on me. The sofa is severally damaged and peeling, and the stairs need to be remodeled. The metal cappings were a horrible choice. Who thought of those and why are they there? They hurt and really cut up my feet. Wear socks all the time if you stay here or leave shoes on every landing level. * The unit was freezing our last night there due to a severe temp drop. We could not reset the heat. It was on some type of locked timer. It would go on then turn to air. We woke up frozen on our last night. Local and desert dwellers light blood. lol- visitors from cold areas would probably not notice. * The recycle is near the entrance. You are welcome to my 45 minute search research tips. Ha. Why not spread them out everywhere on the property?* the place could be cleaner. The trash cans have not been cleaned in a while just bagged. and the bed linens were dirty * The note requesting us to help them clean, despite paying a cleaning fee, really annoyed and confused me. I am always very helpful in that area but a request to strip beds, do laundry, and do their job on top of a cleaning fee? What's up with that?So it was a very nice place and a very nice trip. We just added some tips to make it better, except the stairs. We felt that needed to be fixed right away and is an issue. All else are just some suggestions or advice to make it a five star experience. We really enjoyed ourselves. I hope you find our tips helpful.

ambiance:Very nice hotel because of it's location close to the altlantic ocean. Just leave the hotel and you're right at the beach. Heated pool with a nic view. Floors and stairs need renovation. Great wide beach right in front of the hotel.room:very nice room - every room has a view right onto the ocean. Spend the morning with a coffee on the balkony enjoying sunrise. Comfortable bed. Aircondition, huge Flat-TV, WLAN, coffee machine. bathroom could be renovated but enough hot water.staff:motivated and friendlyfood:we "only" had food during a conference and did not used a restaurant - but food was very good.result:great location. great rooms.

We dined at the Sunrise Cafe for Christmas Brunch and it was simply divine! We made reservations 3 days prior and were surprised to receive the exact time slot requested! We arrived a few minutes early and had a drink at the bar. We had no idea that bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's were included! We only waited a few minutes to be seated while we sipped on our cocktail! Our table was within view of the ocean. The dining room was beautiful and comfortable. The tables were roomy and not right on top of the next. We were quickly greeted my our waiter Ryan which looked like he stepped right out of a gap ad. He was polite and a wonderful server. Very attentive! We started with the salad buffet. Three different salad options in rocks glasses. My husband and I both opted for the salad with the grilled peaches, pecans and goat cheese...we are nothing if not Southern! We then made our way to the breakfast room. This was a lovely room set up that includes: pastries, hot breakfast items, granola, fresh Florida honey, a raw bar and made to order eggs Benedict with several hollandaise sauce options. Did I mention they also had gluten free items! I have 3 words for you to remember ...Anson Mills Grits! These were the best grits I have ever had and that's saying a lot coming from a girl raised on them. They were thick and creamy and no salt required! The raw bar included: oysters, tuna, grouper, shrimp and salmon! With the cutest accompaniments like mini okras! The hot food selection included: ham, turkey, green bean casserole, yellow rice, stuffing, gravy, butternut squash soup and some other items I forgot! Delicious all of it!!!Then there was desert!!!! This included bite size: pumpkin tarts, pecan pies, chocolate coconut cake, creme brûlée, Apple crisp with warm caramel sauce, bread pudding and made to order bananas foster! This was such a great foodie experience and we will be back for Easter! It was only $49 each. I would have spent more at the store and had leftovers I didn't want or need for days! Such a good decision! Superb job!!!

My family and I used to love coming here for years. There have been rule changes over the past few years and most recently there was a poolside dress code implemented. My sister and I were dressed in average bikinis for women in our early 20s (nothing too cheeky or revealing but skin was showing). Staff were very quick to politely tell us we were not up to dress code. The staff was polite about it, but the rule itself is old fashioned and not at all with the times. As a young woman its NEAR IMPOSSIBLE to find a quality modest bikini that doesnt show a little butt. Out of touch rules that disproportionately affect women. Very disappointing to see the sexist turn the ocean club has made.
