Food was so good we dug in before taking pictures! Atmosphere is awesome with tons of cool artwork everywhere. Food is fantastic, but this is likely the process taco spot in Jacksonville. The sides and size of tacos make it worth it however.Drinks left something to be desired with price/quality but they were good and did not take away from the experience

4.25I wasn't expecting much given the reviews, but we were in the area and wanted to try something new and was super pleased. For a recap: quality food, great vibe and service, and yes, there are TVs for the game.Vibe- Super fun vibe per my pics, aliens, neon, a giant spaceship in the ceiling, oh, and a fun dance surprise in the bathroom...Service- Ariana was great, friendly, prompt. Was seated right away. Given tricolor's chips and salsa on arrival.Drinks- Beers and jalapeño margaritas, and soft drinks for the kids. All well made, good flavor.Food- Honestly, first glance prices are higher than most. It's more by platter and not by taco. Given said that, there was more to the tacos. For example, on the Steak and Shrimp there was lots of steak- tender, and at least 5 shrimp I counted. Also. It came with a side option- lots of choices and plantains.Meals we had:Kids chicken tenders meal, large portionChicken and lettuce tacos, side of rice. Mixture of one hard and soft taco by choice. While she didn't like the hard taco she'll (looked like a blue tortilla shell), she liked the soft and at the inside of the other. Loved the rice and at it up on arrival. For other adult meals, all taco platters including : Steak and Shrimp, Blackened Mahi, Buffalo chicken with pickles, Barbacoa taco, and Cheese steak taco. Sides ranged from the Mexican Street corn (best I ever had, sweet and full of flavor), queso mac and cheese spiral pasta (rich and good), rice, and fried for the kids meal. They also offered unique tacos like the Monte Cristo, something different. Other offerings were salads, quesadillas, cheeseburgers, wings, cheesestick moons, and desserts. We had plenty with the main meals and took much of it home (reheated well).Owner/owners fam member also stopped by, you could see her excitement with building this place into something. She shared some more adult and kid events to come up. We will be watching to attend. We will be back, kids also loved getting antennas on exit.

This was my second time here and I was so pleasantly surprised this time! Prices were much better (though it may have been happy hour) it's not your typical taco restaurant though! The burritos was very good similar to a chipotle style burrito! The empanadas and chimichurri and corn salsa were so good! Absolutely my favorite thing so yummy! The best chimichurri I've possibly ever had! We sat outside and it was very nice patio space and the servers were still attentive

Overpriced everything... service was mediocre. Chips were greasy and looked like they grabbed a bag from the store- dropped them in a fryer to warm them. Drinks were interesting and themed but again, way overpriced. The taco choices were different and new - I had the chicken quesabirra tacos. They were good, but SALTY. None of us would go back.

Dope ambiance, and great service...it ends there. The food lacked flavor and just missed the mark for me. I also got the margarita flight and wished I would have just ordered a soda or something because the drinks just weren't good. But if you're looking for a great backdrop for photos and videos I think this place is good.

Service is phenomenal and helpful with answering questions about the menu and recommendations. The food is really good. The shrimp app is tasty and the taco salad with lamb is huge! Drinks are interesting takes with neon colors for fun.

Alien taco is as expected, definitely a party spot. If there is live music, you definitely want to be on the patio instead of inside as the music can be quite loud but enjoyable! Our waitress Logan was great, great service, great attitude and as soon as happy hour began she definitely let us know! I got the taco salad and was a little disappointed it didn't come in a tortilla bowl, but that's a minor inconvenience. The salad was packed full of corn, black beans, pickled onion, tortilla chips and i ordered shredded cheese on the side. It was very good and a pretty large serving. The queso and salsa were also good! I had the bartender make me a surprise mocktail and received a strawberry coconut "margarita" which was quite flavorful! And for happy hour I got a Martian mezcal which was as really tasty! Don't forget to hit the party light in the bathroom!!!

There were three of us and two ordered tacos and I ordered the burrito bowl. - the Mahi taco was very fishy- the Monte Cristo was excellent according to my husband. How the raspberry habanero jam didn't taste like raspberry and it wasn't spicy - the cheese steak taco was ok but had an unexpected sweetness to it. - the Alamo taco had an excellent flavor but - all of the taco shells were chewy. Love the decorations inside - very vibrant and bright.

We visited Alien Taco a few weeks ago and were incredibly impressed by the staff and their attentiveness to the entire experience they were crafting. It's important to remember when you come here that they're doing something different -- it's not your "traditional" American Mexican-style resto, they're taking the format of tacos and making them their own. We tried the Philly Cheesesteak taco, the seafood one, and the birria taco (forgot their official names) and all were pretty dang good. Definitely don't sleep on the seafood one! The fresh made guacamole was amazing and WELL worth the price. Insanely fresh, flavorful, and more than enough to share. The only weak point was the salsa selection, especially compared to the guacamole. Would love to see a fresher pico and a fresher, spicier salsa for the table. They're new, they're figuring things out and changing up the menu as they get feedback -- the way it should be. Oh. Don't forget to press the button in the bathroom.

Theme, service, drinks, apps, all five stars. The only reason for taking one star off was for price + entrees. I had been looking forward to this taco spot opening based on location and theme alone. How unique and fun! Let's be honest, Jacksonville didn't really need one more taco spot, but the theme is what drew me in, and they did it well! It's clean, hip, and fun. I met up with Alexa to try Alien Taco a couple of weeks back - the first week Alien Taco was open. We were able to find a comfy booth upon arrival, and started with tequila shots and these pretty drinks our server recommended! Very good recommendations. The appetizers we tried we both agreed were the highlight of the meals. We loved the guacamole app. Since this was the first week open, none of the entrees were available for order yet but all of the tacos were available to order and try. I picked 2 tacos to try, and Alexa picked 2 tacos to try, all four different. I did notice all of the taco prices were quite high. I thought okay let's wait until they come out to try them, and then see if that helps make sense as to why individual tacos are priced so high.In all honesty, we didn't love the tacos. The drinks, the friendly service, the tasty appetizers, (and the fun disco bathroom) were the selling points for us. My one drink, one appetizer, two tacos, and two tequila shots added up to be a good $100 ($97 to be exact, but that does include 20% tip) That's a lot for a taco spot if you ask me, even without putting the two shots on my tab for each of us. The cheapest taco starts at $7 plus tax. I think this is a superb spot for families with kids, and a great pre game spot for apps and drinks. With so many taco options in Jax, I would save the entree order for another spot but again, I did visit opening week. I'm sure given more time, the tacos and entrees would hit much more. I would be willing to try either entrees or tacos later on down the line. I want to state again just what great service we had. We had a couple of servers continuously check on us and give us recommendations; and a friendly manager come by the table to check on us as well. We never mentioned anything about the tacos because we were there to have a good time with eachother, take some pics, and catch up. It was all in all a very good time. Please give this new local spot a try. It's in a great location away from all of the gate parkway traffic around the TownCenter. This is closer to IKEA on the other side of gate parkway.
