This park that is within walking distance of my apt is so special. I love that it has a paved walkway for smooth bike riding, rollerblading, strollers, etc. I'm pleased to see both kids and adults taking advantage of the giant soccer fields located in the back of the park. I feel perfectly safe walking around, it's always clean, lawn manicured, quiet, & landscaped beautifully. The gorgeous old tree in the back by the open field is the true show stopper. The loop around the park is fairly short, but very pretty. If I had to take a guess on the length, I'd say it's half a mile long or a little less. It's the perfect length for dog walking on these hot summer days.

Close proximity to my house, but a park worth coming to even if you have to drive out from further parts of town. Alexandria Oaks Park is perfect for a large group playing frisbee, the loner with a good book, or a play park for the pups.Tips -- parking on North and South end, doggie bags available, massive greenway, basic walk path, rec leagues play here occasionally. When I first moved to San Marco, my kickball league used to play here on Sundays. The greenway that expands from the South to North end of the park is big enough for a music festival. Even if noise or crowds aren't your thing, there's plenty of room on the greenway for you to get some peace and quiet on your blanket.Hey, have I mentioned I have a new dog? Yeah, yeah. Well, we took her here for a play date yesterday and it was great. She had enough room to roam around, meet other dogs, and play until she was short of breath. I expect more frequent visits to Alexandria Oaks Park in the future.

Little park near my house in San Marco. One of my favorite spots. Great space to take your dog off-leash is no one is around and play fetch with them. On weekend mornings, there are always games of soccer there. If you're in San Marco by the Lions statue and want to go on a longer walk, walk through here and back.

There's so much poop in this park you'll want to stay on the sidewalk, which is sad since there are sweetly placed benches throughout the park. The little bridge is nice but there's no water in the tiny creek so it kinda felt like a dirty drainage ditch. The grass was nice and green and it's a nice place to take a peaceful walk if you have some time. I'd say go to Boone Park if you want a better option

Hilary has it all mentioned in her Review to the right. I have lived on this park coming up on 3 years now. I do worry that the new complex they are putting in on Phillips hwy will impact us or will it remain a hidden treasure. The people who own pets on this park are notorious for not keeping their pets on leashes and only 1 or 2 are well behaved enough that they remain next to their owner and only a scat (lol) few pickup after their pets. But good neighbor philosophy went out the window when everyone felt they have a right to do whatever. Please do not let this from bringing you out to the park and walk the path or play frisbee with the kids.NO GOLF IS ALLOWED.PSI have moved to Charlotte, NC and I have a park across the street from our new place, nothing like having this one off my back yard...LOLHope the New Owner enjoys it as much as I did.

FEC Park is tucked back into the San Marco Neighborhood and, without a little off the beaten path exploration, you wouldn't even know that this roughly 13 acres of untouched land was sitting just beyond the bustling borders of this historic district. It is basically just a gargantuan grassy plot of land... but it is beautiful and peaceful. A great place to bring the dogs [or the cats!], hit around a few gold balls for practice, throw a football, have a picnic, watch the sunset, play with a little one, or get some outdoors exercise simply by perusing it's perimeter. It's a real gem, hidden, kind of untouched. There is a teensy tiny little stream that runs through it and some trees and shrubbery scattered around. It gives an idea of what this city might have looked like before we built all over it. It's awesome.

I came here with my toddler because I saw a photo of a playground... although this place has great trails for walking and grassy areas for children or dogs to run around, there is no playground

It's a cute park to bring your dogs of you want to just sit and supervise, or go for a 3 minute run. I would not recommend this park if your looking for a run

When I think of San Marco, I think of the square. A lovely area of small shops and tough parking. Alexandria Oaks is a close hidden gem. Think wide open spaces for kids to run, a soccer field, and some huge oak trees. A few years back there were also some trails put in that wind through the park. Nice for a jog or walk with kids.

Psychedellically beautiful and spacious, there are people of most ages here, though a higher proportion of white people than Landon park. There are no weird people here, and it's great for dogs.
