Al Dente’s Ristorante Italiano

Came for my birthday dinner!!The wine was fantastic, we chose the Governo from Tuscany. It was delicious with cherry and smoky undertones. Our entrees included: chicken Parmesan, tortellini with prosciutto, veal saltimbocca, and eggplant Parmesan. All of them were divine. I chose the tortellini and it was one of the best Italian dishes I have had! I've had tons of Italian meals but never something crafted quite like this! It was so so tasty!!!!Service was fantastic, our server was Joseph! Very friendly & efficient!Only small downside: no birthday dessert but that's okay, the meals & service was fantastic! Will absolutely return!!

Unfortunately Saturday evening was a disappointment. We had 7:30 reservations and were seated at 8:15. We were understanding but thought a complimentary drink should have been offered while waiting. It appears that they overbooked. Our service was passable. Cocktails were beautiful, we enjoyed a St John's Spritz and a Walk in The Park. The soup had to be sent back because it was cold not It not hot. Actually looked scabbed over from the heat lamps. Our beet salad was delicious as well as the veal cutlet parm. It fell like the servers were overwhelmed and not attentive as other times. I did speak with the manager and dessert (chocolate cake & Tiramisu) were complimentary. My apologies for the harsh review, we just had an unexpected bad night.

Our original plan was to go to 1928 Cuban Bistro for lunch but when we walked in (smelled amazing!) it was super crowded so we walked down to Al Dente. I'm so glad we did!I had the calamari fritti appetizer as my main dish. The batter was light and flavorful! There were only rings in the bowl, I like the tentacles but I know a lot of people don't. It also had fried peppers, there definitely could have been a lot more. Nice little pops of flavor. I really enjoyed the calamari and the two different sauces.

The food was great. Service was ok. Kitchen was slow. Place was pretty packed for a Monday night. They had a large party and and almost all other tables were filled including the bar area. It was super loud in there while full. Good portion sizes for price paid and quality seemed to be pretty good. I wouldn't hesitate to return based on this visit.

Recently had a family dinner here and I think this place will be added to our list of favorites.Food was very good and portions were definitely bigger than expected :)Service was excellent!! The lady (I'll go back & get her name) was amazing! One of the best.We will be back for sure.They have good happy hour specials as well.

We dined on a Monday, and the restaurant was pretty much full.The food was delicious. And the portions were huge! It seemed like the kitchen was a little backed up, perhaps they were not expecting such a large crowd for a Monday. But when the food arrived everything was awesome, so it made the waiting less of an issue.Would go again and consider them for takeout!

Has been a long tie favorite but Wow has there prices gone up! You get what you pay for. Just be fair! My bill was at least 12.00 more than what was compared to on the menu on this site. I understand price increases but then I compared with the other Italian restaurants in your area and your prices have gone up significantly. The calamari was like bubblegum. So sad we have supported them for a while. Moving on.

Came here on a Sunday for lunch. We arrived before 12 noon and was surprised that we were the only customers. Although people started coming in past 12. The place is pretty big, they have a bar with 2 televisions, perfect for game nights. We started with their complimentary bread with olive oil, garlic and herbs as the dipping sauce. We enjoyed it. Ordered the following:Eggplant Parmigiana- Served with pasta. Seems a large portion for 1 order with 2 plates. 1 for pasta and 1 for the eggplant. However, the eggplant underneath all that sauce and cheese was a tiny portion lol. The marinara sauce with my pasta was just okay.Braised Short Ribs - Wow! My husband was happy upon seeing the beef! It was huge! Sadly, the flavor was not the taste we were accustomed to. I guess it was not cooked for hours than it was supposed to. He liked the mashed potatoes though.Overall, it was a pleasant visit. Our server was very attentive and we were full, just not satisfied.

Excellent. The food was fresh and delicious. The food did take some time to come out but I didn't mind because you could tell it's fresh. Highly recommend.

Like this quaint local restaurant in St. Johns but have been several times and always takes forever. Food is usually decent but seems something isn't quite right with the kitchen staff. Service is ok.
