A nostalgic disappointment. 20 years ago, this place would have had 5 stars for outstanding service and home feel. Now? I couldn't get a substitution of ham for a few leaves of spinach (which would have been cheaper than the ham). I used to come here at least once a week because I lived right around the corner. This was my go to place for the many years I lived in Gainesville. (Lived here for 20 years). This time, I brought my family because gone are my college years. They had nothing my daughter would eat because she wanted lunch at 11am and even though they serve lunch during the week, they do not on the weekend. (Now this may have always been the case, so that could be my bad). I'll be taking the 4 year old for a burger and fries after we eat. Food: the water has an awful taste. Coffee: weak which is fine: diner coffee. Don't use a full creamer. Pros: cool kids menu and a good bucket of actual crayons.

I had the most amazing brunch after church at 43rd St. deli. I like this location the best, because they were able to seat nine people right away. The food was AMAZING! such great company as well and great service. highly recommend.

Nice spot off I75. It was quick and our server was friendly. Enjoy the breakfast. The side potatoes were overcooked but I liked my Benedict and my bf liked the special lamb Pattie special.

My partner and I popped in to 43rd Street for breakfast after a grueling 36 hour drive from Utah to Florida. I know, I know! It actually IS crazy, but that's a review for another app entirely.Have you ever been to a place where you can just tell the people there all care about their jobs? A place that operates smoothly without a bunch of flash? That's how I felt about 43rd Street. Very clean and uncluttered, with a definite retro feel. Kinda like stepping back in time a decade or three, but in a nostalgic way. The place was fairly busy but quiet, which I appreciated after 30+ hours of road noise and loud music. We were greeted as soon as we entered and shown to a table with no wait. The hostess (I didn't catch her name) took our drink orders as we were seated--OJ for her and coffee for me--and promptly bustled away to take care of us. Our server, Crystal, was a delight. Efficient, friendly, attentive, all the things one needs to be an all-star server. Our drinks came out quickly, freshly squeezed OJ and fresh coffee, both lovely. I ordered the Firecracker omelette and my partner got French toast with strawberries. We shared a large side of cheesy grits, which I was super excited for. Love me some grits! Comforting, plentiful, and well prepared. Also delicious! I enjoyed every part of my visit to 43rd Street and will definitely return next time I'm in the neighborhood. Check them out, you won't walk away hungry or sorry!

Oh dear how to say...just not the best for us. Homemade Corned beef hash (a house special) just could use more lovin'. Not much better than canned. And the Spinach Red Pepper wrap has ingredients that I second guessed would be good together, and they were not. Also the griddled tortilla had the "used oil" taste. They however were very nice to remove it from the bill. And our server Jesse could not be any sweeter!!

I found this place using the iExit app which tells you what the Yelp rating is and lists a few reviews as well. Easy off and on I-75 and located right at the exit. You can't see it from the interstate because of the trees. There is an abandoned Shell station right next door if you are pulling a trailer like me and need extra parking space. This place has a huge dining room with a lot of seating. I counted over 30 tables and booths on the side I was sitting. There is another dining room on the other side as well. Although they were still serving primarily breakfast at 9:50 am, they accommodated me for lunch. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with chips and a root beer. The sandwich was really good and the chips were too.

The parking lot was packed but inside there was plenty of space and we were immediately seated. The staff were friendly and the food appeared quickly. The portions are large and very good. We all enjoyed our meal, perfect for travelers.

Come on!!!! This place was AWESOME!First time to visit Gainesville. Our friend picked the breakfast spot. Wow! He made a good choice.First, Eric gave phenomenal service! He was pleasant, knowledgeable about the menu items, gave good recommendations, and had a good sense of humor without being annoying. The menu is endless for breakfast items. My daughter chose the Portabella and spinach and cheese omelette. She told Eric to pick the cheese, she trusted him. He chose Havarti which she loved! She said best omelette she's ever had.She chose cheese grits as a side and they allowed her to sub her bread item with tomatoes due to gluten allergy. Her food was steaming hot when it came to the table. Huge plus in my book. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case with my choice of a half order biscuits and gravy with a poached egg. Gravy was alright. Biscuit seemed maybe a little under cooked (doughy) and it was barely warm. But it was filling. Our friend chose the One Heck of a Mess, biscuit, hasbrowns, 2 eggs, cheddar cheese, covered in sausage gravy and he chose sausage links. He seemed pleased. The coffee is very good, as well.

Meh. Typical motel-adjacent short-order food. Not terrible if you just need to eat fast, but nothing special. Not a destination restaurant for a weekend getaway.
