This black owned eatery is nestled in the historic Springfield neighborhood along a row of little mom and pop shops. A van was parked out front stating that they also cater events. Inside seats maybe 10 people. There was a man already seated when we arrived and I could tell he was a regular right away, and the vibe of the space was relaxing as a neighborhood spot should be. The lady who took our order was super nice, and someone from the kitchen popped their head out to speak to the regular. I could tell they got great support, and if they don't, shame on the neighborhood. The place is filled with a plethora of fox themed decorations (they should add something from The Fantastic Mr. Fox, no charge on the idea). Cutting to the chase, this was hands down my favorite spot to eat out of all that we tried in Jacksonville. My wife and I both had the smothered porkchop, which was tender and thicc, covered in a tasty gravy, with a side of collard greens with a flavorful seasoning and a crispy yet cheesey mac & cheese. The dish also came with a deliciously sweet cornbread as well. We did not finish it all, but gladly took a to-go box back to our hotel. The Itis definitely had us in a chokehold as we left, but we did some exploring of the neighborhood on foot and fought it off. If we're ever back in Jacksonville we're 100% stopping by again.

This was a weekend that I just wanted to relax and enjoy anything I wanted to eat, no restrictions so I chose this place on my favorite delivery app. I had heard mixed reviews before but you never really know until you have your own experience, right?I originally had my heart set on some shellfish before deciding on a place that morphed into Seafood Alfredo, something I hadn't had in a while. I knew that they had this on their menu so I ordered it with a slice of Key Lemon Pound Cake and a Oxtail Grilled Cheese for him. Not even five minutes later I received a call from the restaurant stating that they were out of the cake and gave me some options to replace it with. I believe it was a cheesecake pound cake that I chose instead, saying that it sounded amazing. About 45 mins went by and it was finally at my door. The to-go container was overflowing with alfredo sauce (that's a good sign). It also came with a small side salad, corn, and garlic toast which turned the afternoon meal into the only meal I ate that day. I'm not a huge fan of alfredo sauce but you can tell this was homemade and seasoned perfectly I dipped my corn in it and used it as dressing for my salad. Nothing was left behind. He ate the Oxtail Grilled Cheese and mostly bewildered by it hahaha. He said it was good but he wouldn't get it again mainly because he was looking for something more heartier. I saved the cake for when I had some room and it was very good. I don't recommend putting it in the fridge immediately as that would definitely dry it out so I left it out in a cool area of the kitchen. All in all, I'm glad I went with my gut. This was an excellent choice.

Absolutely love this restaurant! Food is always good and made fresh to order. I'm mad they got rid of the Shrimp Burger but the Salmon Burger is a cool substitute.

Just tried Fox Lady Cafe and loved it! Great little local place. Had the turkey wing with yams and cabbage and the stuffed fish with Mac n cheese and dressing. Both were very tasty! Each entree came with rice (I normally don't eat rice but it was very good) and cornbread (also good!!!). Of course we had to get their strawberry and yellow pound cakes. Everything was great, eg cute decor, nice service, found was perfect comfort food, etc. Small space (ie probably holds 10-15 people) but it's nice and intimate. We went during covid (June 2020), and they were just doing carry out. Apparently they also cater, and I can see why. Check em out!

This is a small neighborhood cafe with awesome severe and fabulous food. My only problem with them for me is that the food was lukewarm and it's served on paper product. I felt like I had visit a food truck. A small investment in utensils, plates and bowls would make this one of the best neighborhood gems.
