Jack's Fish Spot

We chose to grab lunch at Jack's this weekend while we were at Pike Place because there were a lot of people in line so we thought it must be good. Unfortunately, we were wrong and Jack's Fish Spot did not meet our expectations whatsoever. We ordered the grilled salmon and the fish and chips. I was sadly extremely disappointed in my fish and chips. They were more like fish nuggets. The batter on the menu is listed as a light tempura panko batter on the menu but the breading was very thick, not light at all, and not very crispy. The breading truly reminded me of fish stick breading - not a fan and I only had one piece of fish before not wanting it anymore. The fries were very soggy too, I didn't even finish half of them because they were so limp. I love a good fish and chips but this has to be my least favorite fish and chips dish I've had.Sadly won't be coming back here and wouldn't recommend this spot.

I arrived at Jack's Fish Spot a couple of minutes after 12pm, and as soon as I placed my order there was a pretty long line.I ate Jack's clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. $13 was the cost of this dish. I was neither impressed nor disappointed in the quality of this dish. Jack's chowder had a good clam flavor, but was mostly loaded with potatoes. I ate only 5-6 clams in my soup. The sourdough bread was decent, but hard to finish because they gave such a large loaf. My guess is that they make the loaf larger than normal to make it seem like you got your money's worth. That's a pretty cheap marketing practice.Did I get my money's worth? Eh. I got a whole lot of potatoes and bread. If this dish had double the amount of clams, I'd be more satisfied. There are probably better eateries at Pike Place Market to get your fix of clam chowder.

When in the Pacific Northwest, fish is where it's at. Fresh fish, well done. But cleanliness also counts. Here at the counter on the outer ring of Pike's Market teeming with people, Jack's appears to struggle with the clean up that comes with voluminous sales. Empty ketchup containers, paper, cold fry remnants abound, taking from the freshness of the fish. Batter on the fish was not completely cooked with the liquidy texture against the fish. Perhaps an off day.

A solid place to stop for fish and chips in pike place market! Definitely conveniently located and made fresh to order. These were a delicious way to start my trip to Seattle.

Located in pike place market Jacks is the perfect lunch spot. There was no line to order and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes and there was counter seating available. The fish and chips were really good. Very lively area!

Was in Seattle and really wanted some fish and fries. I was surprised when I went to market place and I didn't see that many spots on this. I notice people coming here and decided to give it a go. I tried their fish and fries to start. Had the halibut and I must say it was really tasty and fresh. The only thing that I wanted to point out was the fries. Really feel I didn't get fresh fries. I also did get the fish tacos and it didn't disappoint. Really was filling and delicious. Would consider going back if I visited again.

My friend and I came randomly stumbled on this spot, because it looked fresh but it really wasn't. We got the cod fish and chips and were really disappointed with the quality. For having fresh seafood out front, I expected a bit more. Some of the cod pieces had a weird old smell to it, which I ended up not eating because I was afraid to get food poisoning. The fries were soggy and oily. I don't plan on coming back here, no matter how busy it looks. I really didn't enjoy the food and they had a decently long line.

What a great place to chow down on an entire crab and enjoy some clam chowder. Anytime we come to Seattle, this is our second stop (right after we make it through the long lines at Piroshky Piroshky). Ordering is quick and we somehow always manage to find a barstool seat so we can eat our food.

This place had one of the best salmon in Seattle. The salmon is fresh, soft, and has lots of flavors. Their salmon is delicious, but all the other food here was gross. The fries were very soggy and nasty. The batter for the fish and chips was so bad and tasted like batter for chicken nuggets. The fish did taste fresh, but it did make up for the batter. Even the tater sauce was not good, either. We were very disappointed. The service at this place was good, but it is just a grab-and-go. This place could be cleaner, and there are few seats to eat at.Overall, I would go back to this place to get a quick salmon. This would not be my first place to go in Pike's place for lunch or to take tourists.
