Brisket (4/5): Good brisket can be hard to find and Jack's has a solid version: tender, well-seasoned (sauce is optional for sure), and perfect level of smokiness. Just looking at it, there's a smoke ring all the way around the meat and juicy all the way through. The best thing I tried was this and it saved this review from being 2 stars.Pork Spare Rib (2.75/5): Unfortunately, this was nowhere near as good as the brisket. Definitely overcooked - dry and too chewy. It's a shame because the seasoning is great again, but barbecue means that meat and the meat itself just isn't up to par.Buttermilk Hushpuppies (1.5/5): The sauces it comes with are good, but the hushpuppies were actually burnt in the fryer; that burnt bitterness overwhelmed the rest of the hushpuppy fully. Super unfortunate because I was really excited for it.Sides: Corn pudding wasn't my favorite texture and was a bit one note, but not bad. Standard coleslaw that is pretty fresh and not drowning in mayo. Maybe their other sides are better, but neither impressed.

Hearty, flavorful, and delicious BBQ! My husband and I dined here on a Sunday night for dinner around 6pm. They have restaurant tables and bar-style seating. Service is welcoming and friendly. It's a pretty cool vibe and they have picnic meals great for larger groups and families. Food: + Smoky sweet iced tea - i didn't really taste the smokiness but it was a solid and refreshing sweet tea+ Brisket with collard greens and chili - portions are great! The meat was tender and smoky and paired with their BBQ sauce, very good! I'm a big fan of the collard the greens and their award winning chili was hearty. + Chicken sandwich - kickin style with corn pudding - This sandwich packed a kick for sure! I think I would have liked a less spicy option but that's on my poor decision hahaha....corn pudding was so yum.Overall, I really enjoyed this spot and wish my stomach was big enough to also add on dessert but next time it is!

Went back for the beef rib. It was huge (1.71 lbs). While it was smoked well, there was very little flavor in it. Notably, the bark (the hard crust of it) was very thin suggesting that there wasn't a whole lot of seasoning.Other items: the corn pudding was very dry, the sausage was as good as before, the collard greens were still good but needed a little more of the pot liquid.I also got some hushpuppies to go. They were tasty but they didn't include enough butter despite me asking for extra instead of the tartar sauce.All in all, I would be willing to go back if others wanted to go, but I'd suggest somewhere else. So, Jack's goes from 4 stars to 3.

This is decent for BBQ in Seattle. I think they're going for Texas style based on the emphasis on black pepper and the savory (rather than sweet) beans, but the palette seemed a bit muddled at times, so if you're a barbecue purist you might be disappointed. I think the food is good but not amazing. For example, the meat was moist and not dried out, but it was also pretty oily. The portions are quite large (I got a combo plate) so even though it's a bit pricey I think it's pretty fair for how much food you get

I came here on a whim a few years ago and fell in love with their Beef Rib that is only sold on Thursdays. I came back for tacos, brisket and ribs. Then I discovered their fried chicken tenders. They are now my number one reason for returning. I recently heard they have half off all drinks during happy hour! Best deal for drinks in town and the whiskey selection is pretty nice. Staff seemed to enjoy working there as they were friendly and having fun on multiple occasions. As a Seattle native who loves BBQ this is the spot for me. The ambience is very Texas and warm.

First time dining in here, but damn, they do a brisk takeout business. The restaurant had a few occupied tables while we were there, but churned out so many to go orders, they ran out of brisket and ribs.We ordered chips & salsa, wedge salad, the ribs, brisket, cornbread, mac & cheese, chili and coleslaw. It was a massive amount of food, lol.The salsa was surprisingly spicy and I couldn't handle it. The wedge was great, but the bacon was hard and chewy so it got tossed aside. Even my bacon loving toddler wouldn't eat it. The brisket was definitely the star, as the ribs were dry, super fatty and didn't have much meat on them. No one wants to bite into a hunk of fat. Probably wouldn't order those again. Loved the cornbread, mac and chili, but the coleslaw was a bust. It tasted off, like it had gone bad. Not sure if it was the cabbage itself or the mayo.Overall, service was great and it's a ton of food, but some of it could've been executed better.

Ortdered the Holy Trinity ($35) - awesome portions, lots of food.2 ribs, 2 sausages of your choice, 2 brisket slices, and 2 sides.The birksets / ribs were a bit lean and tough (I prefer fatty and fall apart / fall-off-the-bone).Sausage was awesome.Potato salad was awesome, BF said baked beans were okay. Cool staff. Cool interior. Makes you feel like you're in the South.
